Re: Kurt Hummel Spoiler Thread - part 23
Yum. Totally ignoring the greasy blur in the background.
As someone trained in stage combat (from my medievalist years), Kurt's posture is perfect for stage fighting (sword is in the right position and he's croched in a way that allows maxiumum movement). Blaie's sword is held too low and he would not be able to shift position and pivot easily. Kurt looks like he's ready to kick ass and take names, and Blaine looks like he's about to crap his pants.
Not too surprised that the flirty guy in their cast has his eyes on Kurt because... dayum!

It is most likely oversight. I hope it is something else though, like at the very least Kurt broke off the engagement, even if Klaine is still together.

As a fan of the Spartacus cable series (and will ship Nagron forever) I would happily hock an organ to see Kurt play such a role. Maybe the illegedimate son of a Roman dominous sentenced to servitude in the arena. And finds love with a fellow gladiator. *sigh*
Crap.... now I need to go write this.

Ha, noticed that immediately too (I also took some combat classes, mostly sword fighting).Ranwing wrote:

Blaine's front, left leg is stretched and 'locked', so he won't be able to move quickly if he needs to. He also puts his weight on only his right leg, so he would tumble over easily when pushed (e.g. from the side). And one blow forward (from e.g. a shield, or him thrusting against someone's armor) will break his collarbone or a few ribs, because the force from the blow can't go anywhere except back into/against his body.
When otoh Kurt keeps his sword arm high and away from his upper body, and puts his weight firmly on both his bended legs.
Having said that:................................
His ring still could be hidden just out of sight, as his ring hand is bend.angelnessa wrote:Kurt's not wearing a ring in the pic with the boys. Oversight, or something else...

I was trying not to look at Blaine too hard (to save myself the neuron damage), but his posture is even worse than I originally thought. Aside form his sword basically resting on the rim of his shield (which makes it impossible to swing either freely), his body position is almost facing you directly. The first rule I learned in fencing was to keep your body positioned to provide your opponant as narrow a target as possible - almost completely sideways to your opponant. It also allows you to pivot quickly and cover the floor with minimal effort.
It really looks like the show is going to have Blaine start to fall short in comparison to Kurt. And nothing makes me happier in my evil little heart.

I really hope this is true if only for the fact its glee and if it is Blaine will make Kurt feel bad for it (like another certain someone)

Here is a cropped version of the hot Kurt picture that cuts out the extraneous stuff and focuses on the highlight of the photo:
