After seeing Kurt in that weapons class, I need to see him play Mercutio from Romeo and Juliet like I need oxygen. Because damn... that was pushing every kink button I have.

Re: 5x16 "Tested" Watch & Discussion thread
Since I posted about what's happening here in Boston, I figured I'd mention that not a lot is known yet. Some guy dropped two backpacks at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. The police have detonated at least one of them. The guy is in custody (thankfully, there were tons of police and reporters around since it is the anniversary of the bombing).
And @ChrisColferFan1, thanks for your concern. I am safely in my home about 12 miles from the site.

I hope so. The relationship is so unhealthy that it's scary. I'd be worried for Kurt if he's wasn't in such a good place right now.

Though I will do it myself as I can't wait to watch this.

I don't know. There were so many layers with Kurt and Blaine's relationship and I'd feel like a wanker saying that that wasn't good (because I've been wanting to hear that for a year and a half now, and even longer) but something made me feel a little bit iffy.
Maybe it is all these references to all these little things that Kurtsies have been complaining since ever or that those little things were yet again made to look small and insignificant because Blaine says they are so. I'm specifically noting here the ones about Kurt being the "girl", Eli C, and Kurt feeling unwanted. It was for me, probably unintedtedly hilarious, when Blaine mentions that Kurt hasn't been seen as a sex object; how does Blaine see his boyfirend then, how is he able to...perform if he doesn't at least on some physical level see Kurt as sexy?
I feel especially weird about how they skirt around the sex in this show. I know it's done because they aren't allowed to use the real words but sometimes it gives too much room for interpretations. So glad condoms are discussed, it is still a young peoples show.
Kurt got to say things and Chris got to show his new body. I'm all good, all good.

Re: 5x16 "Tested" Watch & Discussion thread
I guess my Stockholm syndrome bond with Glee is finally on the verge of breaking: I just don't care anymore. Normally I'd take the effort to write a post about my thoughts on an episode, but this week I can't summon up the energy for it (and it's been a chore the past few weeks too).
So just a few thoughts that popped up while watching the episode:
Although Samcedes is a snoozefest (really: having these 2 weak actors carry an A plot twice in a row is a very bad judgment call), at least I'm slowly starting to like Sam again? But even though I love Amber's voice, Mercedes really doesn't need at least 1 solo per episode.
Artie is a sweet guy, but dude: use protection! Stupid and dangerous!
Could have done without Rachel taking a dig at Kurt again by saying she needs a real girl to talk to.
Are Hummelberry bff and soulmates, or not? And why does she always have to cling to the first girl available and declare her her best friend? (lol, much like Lea does)
Blaine is an asshole, that about sums this episode. And he's gross to to boot (those stuffing his mouth with food scenes, ugh). Blaine only feels good when Kurt is beneath him, weaker, less succesful and less attractive.
After what happened to Kurt last episode Blaine isn't happy and grateful that Kurt seems to have bounced back and is stronger than ever: no, Blaine's pissed that Kurt is not that scared and beaten down confused boy who fled to Dalton anymore. Blaine probably would have loved it more if Kurt hadn't recovered from the gay bashing as well as he did.
Blaine = Terri, and if the Glee writers are not doing this intentionally in order for this relationship to be over soon, there's something seriously wrong with their vision on love.
Little words and lines in the Klaine storyline that stuck out:
- "Back at McKinley I'd be the guy getting fawned over."
So it is all about Blaine not getting attention, instead of him being jealous that Kurt gets hit on by other guys.
- "And Kurt was well......Kurt."
Did anyone else notice the almost disgusted way Blaine said the name of his supposed loved one?
- "Most of the times he was more comfortable hanging around with the girls."
Yeah, because the guys were always so welcoming and nice to Kurt, including you.
- "I guess I'm not used to Kurt being seen as a sexual object."
Not even Blaine himself saw Kurt as a sexual object?
- "I can't have my new confidence erode his."
Why Kurt? Why should your new confidence even be an issue when it comes to Blaine's confidence? Especially after what you've just been through? And why didn't you think: "I can't have Blaine's lack of confidence bring down mine."?
- "Since when are you manorexic?"
Really, Blaine? Shaming Kurt for accomplishing to stay healthy when you won't?
- "It feels like the whole balance has shifted."
You weren't very concerned about the imbalance in your relationship when it was Kurt on the losing end all the time, now did you, Blaine?
- "I loved the way that felt." (Blaine about Kurt fleeing to Dalton and needing help)
Blaine needs Kurt to be the weaker one, even the miserable one, so he can 'protect' him and be the hero. God forbid Kurt is his own hero.
- "You asked me to move out, for God's sake."
Whoah, this is Blaine transferring to McKinley all over again: "I did it for me" > "I did it for you." (also: these writers have never heard of the word continuity, forgetting something that happened last episode)
I understand Blaine being insecure, but his issues in this episode (and ever since Klaine began, really) go so much beyond that. The way Kurt practically had to force Blaine to accept that they are equals..... and Blaine being so desperately needy, even sabotaging Kurt's diet in an attempt to bring him down to his own shabby level..... not good.
If this doesn't set off major alarm bells I don't know what could. Do the writers really think Klaine is still salvagable, when they keep messing Blaine up episode after episode?

On the plus side: Chris looked absolutely delicious this episode.
I'm in love with his muscled tummy.
Not to mention his shoulders.
And even covered up Kurt looks hot as fuck:
x
And (quelle surprise) for once the way they cut the Klaine duet in the episode it actually was more equally distributed/balanced than the full version (love that they kept the "Why do you hurt me so bad?" line in).

They have to, otherwise I'm seriously scared of their views on relationships. Blaine was even worse here than he was in Pupper Master.
Thanks Marie for listing Blaine's douchey actions in this episode. Let me add a few more:
-Blaine was jealous of his fiance for being seen as a hero after he saved someone's life and got bashed for it.
-Blaine tried to prove that he was stronger than Kurt by attempting to violently attack him in stage combat class. Thank goodness Kurt kicked his ass. But it makes me sick just thinking about it.
-Blaine tried to sabotage Kurt's new physique by trying to fatten him up. Decent people do not do that to anyone, no matter how jealous they are of someone else's body, let alone to their own fiances!!!
-Blaine refused to be intimate with Kurt, but trolled porn websites regularly, making Kurt feel insecure just when he's found a new confidence. (Kurt, honey, it's actually a good thing that you didn't have to sleep with Blaine. Now dump him.)
-Blaine rolled his eyes when Kurt mentioned Eli C. Seriously, what grounds do you have for getting annoyed at Kurt for this? Especially considering your behaviour in this episode?
-Blaine littered by dropping food everywhere. He has no sense of how to behave and eat in public.
I had two reactions to this episode, firstly, hating Blaine, which I've discussed above, and more importantly, loving Kurt and finding him so hot. He should take his shirt off all the time. I love that everyone at NYADA loves him (and doesn't seem to like Blaine.)

^It's a social experiment, I tell ya.
And thank you, Ireth, for adding to the list.
Blaine rolling his eyes when Kurt mentioned Eli pissed me off too. And this is not the first time Blaine tries to dismiss and hush Kurt about the cheating.
Blaine visiting porn sites and distancing himself from Kurt again reminded me a lot about the DWS debacle and Blaine's cheating. It's a real pattern now, and there's no way it's not deliberately put there by the writers.
I just wonder where they are going with this? Is it to get to a break up? Or is it because in some perverted way Ryan thinks used-to-be-femme Kurt deserves no better than an asshole like Blaine, weirdly combined with Ryan also thinking that Blaine is such a catch he's allowed to be an asshole?
Sometimes I suspect Ryan resents that Chris blew up the perception that Kurt is 'that' wrong kind of gay, who should thank God for being able to have an alpha gay like Blaine at least somewhat sexually interested in him, by growing into his skin so nicely over the years.
They can't make Kurt into a milkmaid underdog anymore if they tried, and I bet it pisses them off immensely, because it means they have to think of something else to write for Kurt besides him getting kicked in the gut over and over again, and the lack of Kurt storylines since muscles took over his baby fat shows that their creative fantasy is close to zero.

Re: 5x16 "Tested" Watch & Discussion thread
If only they used this to produce a clever storyline, I'd rejoice, but Ryan seems dead set on his soulmate/engame idea.
It is a pity, because they had the elements to show a "real" story: that growing up means evolving and sometimes changing, and that young love sometimes doesn't get past these changes. It also could have been the story of how cheating damages a relationship deeper than you think, that the feeling lingers and the trust is not there.
In the case of Kurt and Blaine, it could have shown that sometimes, you think you're still in love with someone, but in reality you're in love with being with that someone initially meant, but not the person anymore. For Kurt, it could even have been consistent with the awful engagement SL, that Kurt wanted to make it work with the memory of how he felt before when he started dating Blaine, but slowly realized that he, in fact, had changed and that they were no longer a match. I had this great scene in my head where Santana would bug Kurt until she made him realize that he didn't love Blaine anymore., in her Santana kind of way: bitchy but with Kurt's interests at heart.
But this is Glee and Kurt, and with his luck, he will get married to Mr Whiny-Mc-Smugface before he is 21. Oh, the lost opportunities...

If anyone has read the fic "Of Bear Cubs, Meerkats and Hobbits, this canon Blaine is similar to the one in this story.
Well, we all knew these writers like to borrow from fanfiction.
They borrowed from one of the best though.
Love that fic.

Yeah, I was reminded of that fic when I started watching the ep. Hopefully there's no Klendgame on Glee just like in that fic...
