I love how with the first "all NY" episode spoilers have completely dried up.   

On a side note, the PTB, as much as they are pushing the move to all NY, should reduce McKinley to just their songs and a cameo appearance as far as SL's for Episodes 9 and 10.

I'm weird because Blam doesn't really bother me in NY since as long as they give them their separate SL' s I'm good .   

Put it this way, If Kurt has screen time and SL's what others get us sort of an irrelevant side issue with me. With the Noobs gone I'm strangely zen that Kurt will finally get his screen time.

Naya and Lea aren't going away either.

My spin is that Glee was a pie with 50 ingredients and that Ryan split up the pie and took out some of those ingredients.

It's a moot point trying to recreate what is lost since you can't recoup what was changed. The most Glee can do is try to put out the best product they can and exit the network landscape with some dignity left.

I  really  don't want  Blaine to be in NY, but if he must be, I want him to finally  start losing and Kurt to  win over  him at different   things. If that happens  which I doubt.   It might get me to watch again, even if  only to see Blaine finally   lose. I would jump  for joy if it happens.

Just an FYI, I moved the twitter popularity discussion posts to the General Discussion Part 5 thread. I figured I'd just clean up the spoiler thread. It's a bit choppy because Marie's original post that started the discussion is still on the spoiler thread (because it had spoilers in it), but part of if was quoted by Sheny, so you can see where that discussion stemmed from.

Often, understudies have a smaller role in the show for all nights when they don't go on in the lead (and hence would have been cast long before now). Those understudies would have a chance of being in a big photoshoot for the show, but it would be for their regular role. Most shows would not advertise their lead's understudy--because they don't really want to point out the fact that ticket buyers may not see their big star.

If the show is one of the very few that has been double cast (the original Jekyll & Hyde, for example) so that another performer does two or three shows per week, then sometimes there will be a limited amount of publicity for the second lead (promo shots, articles, interviews).

Really, it sounds like Santana is being cast as a standby, not a regular understudy. But we'll see.

A standby is an actor who is cast to cover (basically understudy) a lead role, but who does not have a regular role in the show on nights they don't go on for the lead. They have to be present at the theatre and ready to step in if needed, but if they do not have to go on for the lead, they are not performing at all.
