I think we've got that covered!Buenos wrote:I'd settle for a Pixar/Disney project and after Glee wraps up it's 6th season, a role in either the Star Trek or Star Wars franchises.Lottie2303 wrote:^ Naturally. Next project: world domination

I want Finding Dori. I want him act alongside Bendedict Cumberbatch. I want him on a Dexter/Orphan Black/Breaking Bad kind of show as protagonist.

I don't want Chris on Dexter (or OB or BB for that matter), but to be in such intriguing shows with interesting and deeply developed characters. Especially if he could the protagonist like Dexter, Walt or Sarah/Beth/Cosima/Allison/......tanita_mors wrote:well, our dexter fantasy is over given that the show is finishing this season, but i totally want to see him in star trek or star wars. or game of thrones, hannibal (best new show of season 2012/2013), bates motel, ...

After reading this, I really do hope this is the biopic Chris is attached to. It sounds perfect for him. Of course, none of us know what the screenplay looks like, but it seems like there's plenty of opportunity for a great mix of action, comedy, and drama in this story.bayth wrote:This may be the 'barefoot bandit' they're talking about. Eh, fuck Glee. There are distinct rumblings of excitement on the horizon, confirming the vague feeling I have had for weeks that we are experiencing the lull before the storm. Anticipation for announcements to come is killing me. lol

we don't even know if he's playing the lead. something though, a supporting character can be a lot more interesting than leading character. some great actors never play leading roles, but they still became famous and very much sought after, so I wouldn't mind one way or the other.
looking forward to these announcements. i just wish they are here already.

^Or maybe we are all just going crazy because of the Glee spoilers and the lack of Chris news after a busy summer.

I'm torn between wanting to know about the biopic now, and wanting to just savour Chris being in a new project and having fun speculating about it.

(Interview from the summer ?)
Chris on Glee:
(Interview from the summer ?)
Chris Colfer has said he loves letting his Glee character live an adult life in the show's New York scenes, but doesn't want to see him grow up too fast.
His alter ego Kurt Hummel is currently working and living in New York in the hit musical show and Chris said he was enjoying the change of location.
He said: "I love it, it's fun to be an adult, it's fun not to be constrained by the hallways and the classrooms. You can do much more - I'm working at Vogue and we go out to theatre bars, that's a lot of fun.
"It's kind of fun to be away from the choir room and not be involved in all the musical numbers because those take a lot of work. It's nice to go in and do one scene a day with Lea [Michele]. That's a nice schedule."
But although the end of last season saw Kurt's boyfriend Blaine Anderson (Darren Criss) thinking about a proposal, Chris says he doesn't think his character should go down that road yet.
He said: "I think we all have to realise that they are 16, they should not be getting married. Gay, straight, whatever, they should not be getting married at 16, it's a little too young."
Chris also said that if the storyline goes more towards being based at McKinley High School again he can see a time that would be right to leave Glee: "If the story goes more towards the McKinley kids it'll be natural for Kurt to fade away. But I'm happy to be there. The show's home and as long as they want to keep him around I'd be happy to come back."
But before he leaves, Chris said he'd like to see Kurt tackle a new musical number: "I'm kind of hoping next season Kurt will start a Madonna cover band so I can do a bunch of her songs."
Glee returns to US screens on September 26 for three episodes, with the last being a tribute to late cast member Cory Monteith. They will be screened by Sky in the UK within the following seven days, according to recent reports.

LOL..could be.fantastica wrote:he's ready to leave.
For sure we know he's going to keep busy once Glee is done. Realistically, the show won't let him off if Glee goes a maximum of, say, 6 years. I do think that Ryan Murphy introducing the new kids in S4 was part of his master plan of of keeping the franchise going past Season 7 long term. RM had talked about Glee potentially at least up to an 8th year. I suspect that Ryan Murphy and company don't have any illusions about Chris and Lea staying on from Glee at that point.
The writing for Chris is so smart because book readers for the most part are a very fierce and loyal fanbase. IF he gets this trilogy for "Land of Stories" done by next year and the last book sells well, (most likely) he's laying the foundation for a whole generation of future "Chris Colfer, writer" fans to sign up for future literary ventures.
Writing more movie screenplays is a whole nother ball of wax.

It is a British interview, isn't it? Probably conducted before Cory's death... I bet the Klaine storyline changed a lot after Finchel was officially over. No spoiler, just pure speculation.

Re: Chris Colfer Appreciation Thread!--part 7
I have seen some interpretations to why Chris said that about Klaine.
I think Chris is saying as I am agreeing with this one interpretation, Kurt becomes sixteen when he is a part of Klaine, Klaine/Blaine holds Kurt back, he is not allowed to grow.
Apart from Blaine he is allowed to be an adult.
Blaine is miles away from being any kind of adult.
He threw a lot of shade in that interview.

He basically admitted that he knows he is sidelined in order to make the Newbies work. It was a good interview, as he stayed professional, didn't bash Glee and acknowledged all the positive sides, but he most certainly threw some shades.
But I am more interested about his career next to Glee. I really am curious about future announcements.

Re: Chris Colfer Appreciation Thread!--part 7
I agree, there was a lot of subtle (and not so subtle) shade in that interview.
- There was the "they're too young to get engaged/married" comment, exagerated by him calling Klaine 16 (in contrast to him talking about Kurt as an adult in NY).
- There was the relief of not being "constraint" by the hallways and classrooms" anymore.
- There was the mentioning of 'all' the things Kurt does or can do in NY now (working at Vogue and going to theatre bars), when Chris knows darn well that was hardly shown in season 4.
- And then of course the "Kurt fading to the background" (paraphrasing) plus hint at being okay to leave Glee comment, and the kick in the butt on that one with having a 'nice' "one scene a day" working schedule with Lea.
I don't know how much leverage he has (as he is bound to his contract) but that was definitely some sort of 'take notice!' for RIB/Fox that Chris either wants more next season or wants out.

He wouldn't be saying this unless there is something else he can go to, like another show perhaps.
Maybe his people found a way to get him out of his contract if he so chooses to.
I still think to that tweet from the showrunner of Hannibal. I know it was a joke, but then maybe in some ways it wasn't.
What if he had planned a dinner with Chris to discuss his career options?

What tweet about hannibal? Don't you even dare to give me hope
I liked that Chris despite all the shading also acknowledged all the positive things he received because of Glee. He really knows that Glee was is breakthrough and he has to be thankful towards RIB. However, he also sees all the problems with S4, as we perceived it. It was a short but very, very insightful interview.

It will take me ages to find the tweet, but he said he adored Chris and made a remark about dinner in a Hannibal way, which was a joke, but who knows, maybe it wasn't a complete joke?Lottie2303 wrote:What tweet about hannibal? Don't you even dare to give me hope

It was over a month ago.
I am not trying to get anyone's hopes up, but that tweet was just so random, that it has had me thinking.
