Re: Chris Colfer Appreciation Thread!--part 7
Oh, definitely the bit about Good Fellas and Scarface. But as someone else had already speculated, Chris may have just thrown those titles in there to up his masculinity factorGeorgette888 wrote:Oh, that's interesting. What took you by surprise? *curious, not to say nosy* ;-)Delight wrote:
The video is certainly the most informative (of Chris) that I've seen in a while. There are many answers to the questions posed that took me by surprise.
After following Chris for years, and reading and watching so many of his interviews, I (and I'm sure many of us here too) more or less know most of his answers to certain questions (e.g. Q: Who would you like to have as a guest star on Glee? A: Julie Andrews, as Kurt's grandmother Q: Why are you obsessed with Sai Swords? A: TMNT, Q: What inspired TLOS? A: I read this fairy tale book when I was young and wanted to dive into the story etc). So, it's nice when there's an interview that has Chris answering questions that haven't been asked multiple times previously. Like, we know he likes JK Rowling and the British royalty, but the tidbits about him getting the autograph and collecting royal family merchandise are new (to me, at least).

@Delight, for me, to find out he collects Royal Family figures it was like a whole new level of obsession. I knew Chris love Royal Family, but not that much.

Maybe he's just hoping to start receiving gifts that aren't llamas.brisallie wrote:@Delight, for me, to find out he collects Royal Family figures it was like a whole new level of obsession. I knew Chris love Royal Family, but not that much.

Do you think that was an indirect message for his fans? "Please I want sth else than only llamas or stuff for Brian"AnneNeville wrote:Maybe he's just hoping to start receiving gifts that aren't llamas.brisallie wrote:@Delight, for me, to find out he collects Royal Family figures it was like a whole new level of obsession. as far as gift for brian, i have a great plan: build a plexi glass top (w/ vent holes) covering the bath tub. release one little mouse into the tub. the mouse cannot climb the smooth and slippery "walls" of the tub. secure the drain hole w/ strong mesh material so the mouse can't go down the drain. put a hole big enough for brian to enter in the middle of the transparent top. brian can go in and torture the rodent whenever he wants to. when the mouse is dead, rinse the tub, and release a new mouse. kind of like the gladiator for mice. i am seriously thinking about doing that in my own tub for my own cat's enjoyment, but i need to catch some mice first.

My father in law recommends putting large marbles in the bathtub for the kitty to chase.

What kinds of mouse murder mayhams do you really imagine fantastica? Do you perhaps have an acute mice problem at your house?

Fascinating. I love how Chris does not shy away from controversial storylines. You can tell he is just dying to sink his teeth into something darker than what he's been given...to be less of a "victim", I guess. I wonder what the other (many) darker storylines were??
I wonder what the relationship with a teacher would have done for the moral, upright image of Kurt's character? Would it have made any of us feel any less about him? Was this relationship meant to be consensual or a manipulation on the part of a predatory teacher....or even a manipulation on the part of Kurt himself? What was the nature of that relationship? What did Chris have in mind? Was Kurt a victim or a willing party?
So many questions. This reminds me of a wonderful fic I read a long time ago about Kurt, Will and Sandy (note: this talks about sexual abuse between Sandy and Kurt): http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6884970/1/Natural
