Episode 4x07 is called 'Dynamic Duets'.
I just found out that 'The Dynamic Duet' is a Starkid song.....
Yes, they just went there.

Personally I like discussing with posters who have different opinions than mine and/or a different favorite character. It opens me up to other views and it is fun to disect/speculate on the storylines and motives of the characters.
But the key to a good discussion is respect to another person's opinion, and proper reading of other people's observations and points. And also of course: agree to disagree.
But when that is not possible, when everything you say gets dismissed as invalid because you're not 'qualified' (eg. as a straight person discussing a gay issue, or high school being too long ago for you to still understand ), or because you are being identified/generalized with a part of the fandom they don't like (the Kurtsies) aka a whining stan, then the discussion is not a discussion anymore, but a trench war.
Thanks for giving Kurt a voice and a presence in the general threads, Glorfindel. I'd rather you not subject yourself to too much unnecessary aggravation, though I understand the appeal of having discussions with people with differing opinions.
Hmm... Maybe we can consider creating a new thread where we can generate discussion about Kurt by posting 'unpopular' opinions about him? Just a thought. It'll give us something to do during the upcoming hiatus.

The Glee writers stealing ideas from Starkids now? Oh boy. They are short on fresh ideas, aren't they?
Looking at the youtube video, it made me wonder whether Blaine as Wonder Boy aka Robin in Episode 4x03 was some weird homage to starkids as well....

This is a good idea. A sort of 'media' or 'fandom views' of Kurt thread, which can include stuff from critics (like episode reviews), forums and tumblr.Delight wrote:Hmm... So Rachel becomes more Lea, and Blaine becomes more Darren. Not exactly stretching their acting chops. Thank goodness Kurt refuses to become Chris, even though Chris is beloved and gets rewarded for his talent with books and writing movies.

That is hilarious. Life makes sense now. Chris doesn't get to sing because he isn't as hot (despite all the pictorial proof of the opposite) and doesn't have charisma, despite all the meta about him pulling focus. Hehehe

It's amazing to see how much Chris the actor embodies Kurt the character. It always amazes me that we can tell in pictures if he is just Chris, or if he is Kurt. There isn't that kind of seperation with Lea/Rachel and Darren/Blaine.
But they have used so many of Chris' ideas for Kurt

He should write the whole friggin show. At least he knows how to write female characters.

I've got a rational angel whispering objective observations about Klaine in one ear and a ferocious spirit of vengeance and resentment whispering in another and I'm actually in conflict. This song has been whirling around my head and I think this is the only place I am willing to write it down.

Claire, that NEEDS to become our anthem.
After the episode, you got to post that at Glee ONTD, they will love it.

- Spoiler:
- I don't have a doubt in my mind that Kurt and Blaine will reunite, unless they pair Kurt with someone else and that becomes uber popular paring, which I doubt. You know, if Blaine wasn't so high and mighty in his "cheating" talk, this could have had a much lesser effect. But now, he come out as a total hypocrite. I get it that it was a moment of emotional weakness which he is prone to, but there are mistakes and there are MISTAKES. And for such a young, naive and very monogamous couple, this is an almost unsurmountable one.

- Spoiler:
- No matter what happens with these spoilers, I'm already preparing myself for the inevitable reunion because I'm sure it will happen at some point. No matter how much I love Kurt, I realize this is a TV show, and TV characters have more freedom to hurt people and get redemption than they do in real life. I might not like it or agree with it, but I understand that crap like this happens to make storylines interesting.
That being said, what will piss me off is that if they don't give Kurt the opportunity to explore another relationship, or at least date other guys before he gets back together with Blaine. It will piss me off if Kurt is made to pine for Blaine, or just swear off love because of what happened, and just wind up back with Blaine. I just don't want him to just wind up settling for the first out gay guy he ever met, especially one like Blaine who's not nearly the perfect man that Blaine stans make him out to be.
Re: Kurt Hummel Snark & Bark Thread--Part 5
- Spoiler:
- I'm so tired of spoilers already, but I can't force myself to stop reading. I was expecting these new events but I was shocked when i read what's going to happen. I feel so sorry for Kurt, my poor baby doesn't deserve any of this.
People who compare what Blaine does whit what Kurt did whit Chandler are driving me crazy. There is huge difference between texting even if those messages are a little bit flirty and sleeping with someone else. I get it that he feels lonely but Kurt has been gone for like a month and he can't keep it in his pants. ONE MONTH It's just stupid. Kurt was so happy the last episode I guess RIB can't stand making him happy for more than one episode. You've got a job at VOGUE Kurt now we are gonna rip your heart out and make you miserable for the next 10 episodes.
I want him to date other guys for a while. They will probably get back together at some point, but I'm not sure how they will handle that storyline. Forgiving that kind of betrayal is not easy, even impossible sometimes. I really hope they won't make Kurt forgive him and accept him in two episodes. I want Blaine to be miserable, to suffer and to beg for forgiveness. He has to see what his mistake cost him and to prove that he deserves Kurt's love trust. but that's Glee so they will probably ruin it and make all Kurt fans angry.
And I have one more thing. About the flowers Blaine gives Kurt twice. Why do men do that? We didn't see him give Kurt flowers for 2 seasons and now after he did what he did Kurt gets red roses twice. Great because this will make everything ok and the guilt will go away.

Re: Kurt Hummel Snark & Bark Thread--Part 5
I just want Kurt have another boyfriend besides Blaine
I honestly think that Klaine would never go back dating, they can be just friends.
But this is me talking, I never liked Klaine as boyfriends
I'm tired of Blaine being the hot guy and Kurt just be the cute boy (that no one feels attracted)
It seems that the writers/producers didn't notice that Chris grew and became one of the most hot on Glee.
And I am obliged to pretend that Darren is hotter that Chris
PS: I like these emoticons, I'll use them often

My theory is that Blaine gives those flowers to Kurt because he feels guilty. Because he knows he did something wrong.
True story: I know a married couple in which the husband was cheating on the wife. She actually started getting suspicious when he bought roses for her as a romantic gesture out of the blue, after years of not celebrating wedding anniversaries or showing any romantic gestures whatsoever. She did a bit of investigating and voila, she found out that he was cheating on her.

^ then waht happened? did she dump him? do they have kids together?
it's actually quite easy to detect a cheating guy. something will change - "bussier", new/more cologne, sudden change of attitude, more phone calls, etc. it doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to figure it out.

Yes, they just went there.
It doesn't surprise me at all. I mean, wasn't one of glee episodes called A very Glee Christmas? it reminded me A Very Potter Musical. Coincidences? Dont think so.
@CloveGlee, love your song and why are you asking for a place to join?
Re: Kurt Hummel Snark & Bark Thread--Part 5
As any one seen the supposed love letter Darren has posted up?
I don't want to hate him but there is a lot of self promoting of himself in it, and this is just damage control and won't do poor Chris any favours as he is getting a lot of hate right now. It makes Darren look good and it will only make Chris look bad because he didn't do one.
Here is if you are interested. I don't hate Darren but I am disappointed in him. This is on his Facebook.
Dearest friends-
Though my very first episode aired on TV in November of 2010, the end of this past September actually marked the two year anniversary of a phone call that really turned my life upside down: I was notified that I had been cast as a new character on the popular television series, “Glee.”
Woah.
By that point, some of you had maybe known me from silly youtube videos, and for even less of you- from cafes, restaurants, and bars I used to play music at. Regardless of the when or the how or the why, it’s been been a pretty incredible journey for all of us since that phone call.
Some highlights:
In April of 2010, I was getting ready to start working on what some of you might now know as A Very Potter Musical. I was a senior at the University of Michigan, and I had just read an article about the cast members from the new hit TV series “Glee” singing at the White House. I thought, “Man, that’s insane.” Well, just this past June I took a song I wrote called “Not Alone” that I used in that very same musical I was working on in college, and sang it in person for the President himself… Shortly before I got to fist-bump him.
In July of 2011, I was asked to speak on a Harry Potter-based fan panel in San Diego. I thought I was a bit under-qualified for the job, but was nonetheless excited to be asked to speak on a panel at one of my favorite summer events: Comic-Con! When I got there, I realized that we were given a rough time slot because it was the same exact time as the panel for that same hit TV show, “Glee.” I thought, “Man, this ‘Glee’ thing is really stealin’ my thunder…” Ok, well, the very next year, I couldn’t do the HP fan panel again because I was on that Glee panel.
The crazy stories go on and on, not to mention the little things like magazine covers or hitting Billboard charts, or doing a film with the likes of amazing people like Kristen Wiig, Annette Bening, Matt Dillon… Let’s see, what else, oh, getting to live my dream of doing a Broadway show, and then of course, there was getting to sing “Rainbow Connection” with Kermit the Frog… I mean, these things are unbelievable. Unbelievable. I have a pretty wild imagination, but I never thought any of that could actually happen, let alone in such a relative short period of time.
Here’s the deal- I work hard, I try to make the right decisions and do the best I can with everything I do and all that good stuff- but really, that can only go so far. There are so many contributing factors to what has happened for me that go far beyond my control… And that’s where you come in. You, the fans, have been a huge part of the reason why I’ve been able to do half the things I’ve been able to do.
We live in an unprecedented age of social connectivity, and I am happy to say that you none of you have failed to take full advantage of that. Don’t think I’m not aware of how active the fandom is, or how much impact is has. Remember: Not only am I fan myself, but I do have an internet connection. I see the gifs, I see the fanfics, I see the memes, and it’s all amazing stuff. Though I haven’t met the majority of you, it’s a real thrill to know that many of your lives have come together on behalf of mine. That’s an incredibly moving concept, and the fact that those connections have yielded so much positivity is something even more amazing.
Let’s take my own stories out of the picture for a second- you, as a group, have all accomplished some pretty amazing things yourselves. You done everything from raising money for great causes to organizing awesome flash mobs over the internet to show your support. You have shown up at the crack of dawn and stayed until you’re the last one standing. You have come together to create something far greater than any of us: a real sense of community and a genuine place of support- not just for me but for each other. And I can safely say that I wouldn’t be where I am now if it weren’t for that.
Oftentimes I meet people who challenge me, “You have no idea what you’ve done for me.” Well the truth is, it’s the other way around. I do have an idea, and a pretty good one at that. Because for whatever you may think I may be giving you, you are actually giving back to me, tenfold. And I am constantly wondering when and if it will fade, who will stick around, who will get bored- I often think about the day there won’t be anyone on the other side of the stage door… but despite myself, as time goes on, you all have never ceased to amaze me with your enthusiasm, creativity, and seemingly endless joy that continues to inspire and encourage me.
Tonight is the premiere of the dreaded break-up episode. For many Glee fans, I imagine there will more than reason to be sad. But cheer up, think of it this way: much of your support has allowed me to be on this show long enough to reach a breakup in the first place; it has created a relationship that people cared enough about whereby it was even worth writing an episode about its potential end. I never thought I would get to be around long enough for something like that. And I really have you, the fans to thank for it. It’s something to be proud of.
What’s more, I was even asked to play my own arrangement of teenage dream for this episode- an acoustic piano version which so many of you have supported since I sang it as my first song on my very first episode. I started playing this version at shows as a sort of “thank you” to the fans, for making it such a big song for both myself and the show. It was the song that started everything.
So before the episode airs tonight, I thought it was only appropriate to write a fully fledged note to all of you that could express my deep appreciation for the past two years since that crazy phone call. I hope that this is just the beginning, and that I get to thank you many more times for many more adventures as the years roll by. But for now, know that I am so very grateful for everything you’ve given me, and I am very proud of what we have accomplished together. From teenage dream to teenage dream, thank you for allowing me to live mine.
your biggest fan,
Darren
