Kurt Hummel Snark & Bark Thread--Part 3

Have you read everything by Cacophonylights. She is, by far, the best Kurtbastian author to date.
To me Cacophonylights and commen_sense is a tie.Don't you remember is epic tho.
PS:we should move other place to continue, this is off topic

yes honey you are too upbeat for this thread, and note that we do have a fanfic rec thread within this "all about Chris" section and you can discuss and recommend any fanfiction there. That thread is very short so you can find references easily. we also have an appreciation thread where we pretty much talk about everything Chris/Kurt that's positive and upbeat. And don't forget - the Community board is for everything non-Chris/Kurt related, and we often chat silly stuff there. this board is getting bigger everyday so it may take awhile to get used to.

Really going off-topic here, so be forewarned
I'm also going off to read the ACITW update... (Ever since Miggy finished her Glee-Marvel crossover fic 'Special', I've had to seek out other stories to keep me entertained)
Yes, there is a rec thread here (for recs about fics, videos or anything you can think of; as long as it's Chris/Kurt-related), but given the forum rules, we've limited the fic recs to those of the PG-13 category. Alas, most well-written fics are just not PG-13.
Is there any way around this issue that we can think of? I know that ColferInspired has quite a few Kurtbastian fics to recommend, but couldn't do so freely in this forum. I know that GF had a 'Mature Discussion' thread which I assume contains a lot of porn or borderline porn (I don't really know, because I don't wish to venture into there)... but I'm not sure if discussions about fics would warrant such a thread here; because, to be honest, the well-written Kurt-whoever fics are really not pornographic at all. If the stories don't have a good plot, they wouldn't have been followed so closely by so many people.

To me you have done well to not respond. I read some of her post, and she is completely unreasonable when it comes to Chris; honestly, not worth the time and the effort.Glorfindel wrote:Hi, @Dame Loli: welcome.
Blushing right now.No, I didn't write her back. She's like a bad itch. The more you scratch, the more it irritates. So I don't scratch.fantastica wrote:honey, this IS the snark and bark thread! did you write her back? I hope you won't waste your time on this person. she will never be convinced of anything. she will only try to convince you (of course she will never succeed either).
But she did send me another PM:I have all kinds of answers, but she isn't worth it.
- Spoiler:
"alexnewellfan" I asked you NOT to post it publicly. All I wanted was a real answer.
If you can't give me one, then my negative view on his singing can't change and I can only assume that you don't have an answer

I love her stories.
Yes, I have read several of hers and reading one of her WIP's, A Change In The Weather.
It is so beautifully written.
I can't get enough of her stories. She never writes Kurt as weak, or feminine, she has his characteristics, but he still reads as a teenage boy.
That was a problem I had with Klaine fics after awhile, Kurt is too girlie, or the weaker one in the relationship.
In a lot of Kurtbastian fics, Kurt is Sebastian's equal, and it's Sebastian who does the pursuing.
And this fandom is growing. I've seen ones that say they would love to see Kurtbastian happen on the show, and that they were die hard Klainers.

Can I just say, bless this forum (especially this thread)
I've been ranting a lot on my lj but I feel it takes up too much space lately , and let's not talk about GF
At least it's nice knowing there's a place to feel "safe" without anyone jumping in and starts bitching *cough* hardcore klainers *cough* for every little negative thing.

Sorry about the inappropriate fic reps.
I will use PM from now for the M rated ones, and try and find some Pg 13 ones.
And how dare that stupid girl tweet that to Chris.
He is not her friggin messenger.
Tweet it to Darren. I'd doubt if he would even tweet her. He doesn't seem to be the type to do that, respond to tweets from his fans. Not that it is an obligation or anything. But I'm sure his fans would have appreciated that and are probably jealous that Chris has these tweet sprees with his.

That tattoo reminds me of Star Trek insignia. Frankly, why would someone in their right mind tattoo any part of any celebrities body onto your own. I get Merilyn Monroe's portrait or some other legend like that, but DC eyebrows ? O_O

@ Marie, why their neighbours would slit their wrists? For me It would be great to listen Chris's shower concerts everyday lol
Re: Kurt Hummel Snark & Bark Thread--Part 3
Ok... ahem.
There is something that I would like to address, and this message is not for the people who are normally on this forum. It's for the people who aren't members, who don't participate, and are basically lurking because they are hunting for things to offend them.
Please stop it. You are scaring the crap out of me. It reminds me of something very disturbing that happened a few years ago.
You see, a few years ago, I was the fan of an American Idol contestant who could be somewhat temperamental and unpleasant at times. (This is not about Clay Aiken, those of you who know I am blogging Celebrity Apprentice.) He slept with two fans who later turned on him in a way that reminds me very much of Glee Addict. They hated him, but they was still very obsessed with him, so they started a fan community dedicated to following and sneering at this every move. Unfortunately, they also decided to stalk and make fun of his fans. It got very creepy and scary, because they were taking pictures of the fans and posting them on the internet with rude remarks, revealing their real names and a bunch of personal information.
This business of going to a fan community out of resentment or hatred sends cold shivers down my spine and it raises bad memories. I will say something again that I have said before this week. Respect for each other is not about how you treat somebody's favorite fictional character on a TV show. It's about how you treat each other. There are several people on GF that I know don't like Kurt very much, but they are generally quite decent to me; PandaExpress comes to mind, and now Phylos. Hi, Phylos. I do not feel in the slightest disrespected because they understand the boundary between the real and the fantasy, and they make good judgements accordingly.
Once again: everybody is biased. The right decision comes from owning that bias, recognizing that everybody has a right to their own bias, and that the key to getting along lies in valuing each other's right to have an opinion that differs from your own.
This fan war is actually making me trend towards being harder on Darren than I would normally be; I think he's actually quite fun to watch in reasonable sized doses and I didn't begin to chafe until he became more prominent than I thought his innate ability warranted. I think a few doses of taking this show a little less seriously would help the situation a great deal.
One last thought on Blaine and character development. I think, instead of giving him a sudden huge conflict in one big episode with a brother we've never seen before and quite likely will never see again, this would have been much more affecting if it had been incremental. If they really want to develop Blaine properly, they need to decide on his backstory, start mentioning it or showing it consistently over the course of several episodes, and THEN bring up the big showdown. All the truly effective relationships on Glee - Kurt/Burt, Sue/Becky, Santana/Brittney, even Kurt/Blaine have an emotionally honest core that has been slowly built up over time. When THOSE relationships explode, as we saw in the The First Time, it has much more genuine impact and it works much better.
THAT'S the reason for the snark in the episode recap, folks. The writers went for a big, unearned emotional payoff regarding a relationship that only exists because they got Matt Bomer on the show. We've never even heard of Cooper before now, and it's almost certain that we will never hear from him again. Meanwhile, Sue's stories about both the baby and Roz have been developing with comparative emotional honesty, and Quinn's story was absolutely earned in every frame. If anything, she was a bit too brave and handling disaster a bit too well when you think about what we know of her from the past. Please remember this as you consider my critique here. Quinn is my least favorite character on Glee. I evaluate her stories on reasons beyond favoritism. I would much rather have dinner at Breadstix with Blaine than with Quinn.
Please don't take all this so personally.

Re: Kurt Hummel Snark & Bark Thread--Part 3
Decided to join at this precise moment because what CloveGlee is saying here hit nerve. I'm not a big poster on any forums but I do read them and am facinated by the discussions going on in many of the Glee-related forums. This forum is the first one that feels welcoming and to-the-point-kind of forum. Maybe it is because I'm relatively older, over 30, than most of the younger fans or maybe I'm really not into this fan thing...I don't know but back to the issue.
I feel some forums, unfortunately GF, have just so much hardcore fans that are so defensive of EVERYTHING that even discussions about other opinions are becoming personal and completely out of context. In this forum it's been nice noticing that even some of the really sarcastic writers get their say on Blarrens/Blainers/Klainers and you all give space. I most often feel snickering to some of the things that gets said about Blaine/Darren in here, but I never feel the need to bash the person saying these things, after all we are all talking in hypothetical level anyway since none of us know Chris, Darren or anyone from Glee really.
And to CleveGlee, one of the reasons I've been hesitant writing into any forum is because of the reason you mentioned: that someone might start a personal internet vendetta against me because of my opinions. That scares me . What happened to those fans sounds horrible.
Somehow just reading different forums, and I guess being a Colferite and Kurtsie makes me judge Blaine/Blarren harder than I should but I don't care, hopefully this can be the right forum to out myself on that front. Fortunately forums allow for discussions, tumbrl just scares me, not even going to go there! Mostly Blaines character is bad because of the writers and i guess RIB, but one more reasons to love all you guys, you understand that none of the actors are to blaim for the storylines even though you can joke about it.

I read all what you've written Claire and now I see why you were worried about express your opinion even here, because there're lurks out there
About the two last paragraphs, personally I'm still angry how they wasted Quinn's storyline. I know a lot of people were expecting the reaction of ND about her accident and how this drama was going to be solve it but at the end there was a skip in time ,we don't even know how many weeks she was in the hospital, and her storyline was mixed up with Blaine's storyline about his never mentioned before brother; not even Kurt knew him! If at least "Big Brother" would had been only an introduction of Cooper Anderson and following episodes (or season 4) develops their brothers rivalry, I think it would had been better.

I don't think he's any worse than most of them. It's just the overkill for insufficient reason that is the problem, and it's mostly a writing problem. Darren commits very much when singing, and he's very mainstream.
Re: Kurt Hummel Snark & Bark Thread--Part 3
I don't really like all this story. I think you have expressed your views more than clearly and, like every fan on the internet, you have every right to do it, biased or not. So why these people are coming here only to find something to offend someone?CloveGlee wrote:Ok... ahem.

Glee is fiction, it is supposed to be entertainment. I can understand being invested in the show or in a character, but there's a limit.
