I love Santana as a Latina Eve Harrington.
I've made peace with Glee's "realism " for my own sanity.

Apparently in the Glee universe, Rachel and Santana are the only two actresses under the age of 30 in the greater NY metro area that might want to perform in a Broadway show. Really cannot see the logic in this at all and it's hurting my brain trying to come up with something that makes any kind of sense. *sigh*

Can't complain that Santana is finally getting something.
That episode also has my Kurt/Starchild sexy stripper duet on a pole, yes I'm projecting!

My thoughts exactly. This really is the dumbest thing Glee has ever done.Ranwing wrote:sheny wrote:509 Description

GLEE (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) – “Frenemies” – Spring Premiere
GLEE celebrates its Spring Premiere with a move to a new night and time: Tuesdays at 8:00 PM.
Santana (Naya Rivera) auditions and snags the role of Rachel’s (Lea Michele) understudy in “Funny Girl,” causing a feud between the roommates.
Meanwhile, back in Lima, Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) and Artie (Kevin McHale) compete against each other to be the class valedictorian.

This has got to be one of the dumbest things that I've ever heard of in my life, and this is considering Glee's long and storied history of doing dumb things. Santana as Rachel's understudy? It was idiocy enough for Rachel to get cast as the lead in a Broadway production, but Santana as well? In the same show? Given that the understudy for the lead is always a member of the regular cast and not just some kid off the street. Arrggh!!!! It would make more sense for Kurt to be Rachel's understudy than Santana, and even that would be an idiotic stretch.
So two girls who aren't even a year from graduating high school and arrving in NY from Bumfuck Ohio get cast in jobs that veterans would kill for just because they are so very special. I'm sorry, but I can only suspend disbelief for long. It was hard enough to swallow Rachel being cast so quickly, but Santana as well? The only logic that I can find with this is that Funny Girl turns into a total amateur hour train wreak and the investors pull out in droves.
And Kurt gets... nothing. Typical.
Staying "realistic" my ass.
Besides the insanity of two 19 year old girls from the same hole in Ohio, without any decent theatre education or experience I might add, getting cast as lead and understudy for the same Broadway production,................ I'm sorry, I had to stop myself right there............
THIS IS SO MUCH BULLSHIT, JEEZ!!!!!
.......Okay, besides all that, do they really want to sell to us that Naya can sing DROMP in a way that would make me believe Santana is suitable as Fanny?
IDIOTS!
And seeing all this in connection to Ryan just buying the rights of 'Funny Girl'.....it just makes me throw up in my mouth. They're screwing up the little decent part that's still left on Glee just so Ryan can satisfy his 'Funny Girl'/Barbra obsession.
In the mean time Kurt, who got Rachel her Fanny audition in the first place, gets to register at a nice shop where they sell china with little bowties on them, and instead of studying at NYADA or working at Vogue (let alone being involved with a theatre production) he'll fret over table arrangements for his wedding while his bf takes over NYADA and his band.

I doubt that is a storyline for Kurt. My hunch is Kurt is breaking off the engagement.

That is our dream.

If true, I hope Chris does not get any hate by a certain part of the Klaine fandom. I know he most likely will though ,and he will be blamed for that storyline if Kurt does call off the wedding. Even he does not break-up with Blaine. just call off the wedding. Although, I hope Kurt does break off engagement and break- up with Blaine, this time for good. I will settle for Kurt calling off the wedding.

Re: Kurt Hummel Spoiler Thread - part 20
The cynic in me thinks the show runners with 31 episodes to go need to keep Kurt and Blaine physically away from each other. Engaged and living in the same loft just won't do (the logical extension of the proposal) so I think somehow Kurt will voice the concerns that Burt originally had. Would not doubt it if NOW Burt is trotted out to spell out why two teenagers just starting in college should not get married.
Once again, the cynic in me.
As to some fandom's reactions, I don't give rat's ass.

I guess they're making use of it as much as they can before the whole McKinley set is dismantled...

Why did nobody took a picture with Chris if he was in the scene too?
Maybe he will post something on Instagram later. I want to see his costume.

Allison: Dying for any Glee info!
Before we leave McKinley High behind for good (feel free to celebrate or sob), we’ll be meeting a new cutie who just so happens to be a Christ Crusader. (Hmm…anyone else thinking new love interest for a certain Cheerio?) Expect to meet the new C.C. in the second part of the milestone 100th episode.

What's the point of introducing a new character at McKinley in the last episode of its existence?
It's not so hard to guess whose LI he is going to be. Kitty is the only cheerio in ND.

Re: Kurt Hummel Spoiler Thread - part 20
Well it might be a quasi send off of Kitty if they give her a quick scene with a one shot character. Logic would dictate that the Noobs are gone after Episode 13 simply because they've apparently gotten little spotlight for episodes 9-13. They have no choice for Episode 11 because it's Nationals so they have to sing.
NGL, I'd rather have assurances that the Noobs are in some scene in 5.13 because the last thing I want is the lame duck McKinley narrative drawn out in 5.14 including graduation. I'd rather brand new NY SL's just get going than wasting any more time on Lima. They inexplicably wasted another half year on that mess.
From all accounts they already let Blaine/Tina/Sam wallow in their senioritis in Ep 10 , Ep 11 is all McKinley so if graduation is a 10 second scene in 5.13 that's far preferable to me.
Eta: heh heh... Amber calling Chris "C DOG".

You know, I have to ask, does anyone else find the combination of people for the Gwenyth/retro number a bit odd? Rachel, Kurt, Quinn, Puck, Mike, Schue, and Blaine?
Re: Kurt Hummel Spoiler Thread - part 20
I do, the only thing I can think of is they wanted a musical number without 10-12 people in the background.
So they just picked a few of them. It's hard for me to imagine how that group together is somehow plot related. Mike doesn't even seem to have a SL. Quick and Klaine and Will(with Holly) I could buy, but for once Rachel seems out of place.

So if Jayma/Emma is MIA for all of "100" , I wonder if Ep 5.10 is the last we will see of Emma.
I know she was slotted for at least 1 or 2 more episodes, but can't see her popping up in NY.

But who knows: could simply be them all hanging out together for old times sake, and Kurt of course has to take his fiance Blaine in tow 'cause God forbid Blaine does not get enough screentime and exposure with a guest star.

Re: Kurt Hummel Spoiler Thread - part 20
Glorfindel, I'm curious.
What are your views of Chris singing "I am changing " with Amber?
Do you think they will accommodate the key to suit Amber (like they did "Bring him home" for Lea) and how will this impact Chris? How would you like this song to be arranged as a Chris fan?
Saw a youtube of a guy named Ricky Davila's cover which sang it in a lower key than the Jennifer Hudson/Jennifer Holliday versions we usually get.
