Re: The Land of Stories Main Thread
i will read first and then get the audio book. the reason is my reading ability is pretty good and if i don't know a word I can look it up in the dictionary. I may miss something if I listen to the audio book first. I want my audio listening experience to be less about finding out the story and more about enjoying chris' voice acting.

Actually, I would have prefer that she was not a fan of Glee or him in Glee for an objective view on his work, but I'm eeeeexciteeeeed!

Re: The Land of Stories Main Thread
I would too if she is an ordinary fan like me, but the fact that she owns and manages a bookstore and need to read tons of books (to decide what to carry in her store obviously plus being a lover of books in general) tells me that even if she is biasd, it can't be that far off the mark.Emile wrote:Actually, I would have prefer that she was not a fan of Glee or him in Glee for an objective view on his work, but I'm eeeeexciteeeeed!
I haven't seen Clare lately. she is probably busing writing her "8" recaps. Clare - if you read this - can you get an advanced copy of tLOS since you are a children's book librarian? I hope you do, and write us a spoilerless review - even if it's just a sentence or two like hte lady in the tweets above. I am so ichy for more news.

Perhaps Claire is too busy to post because she is deep in a good book

naa, if Claire was able to get her hands on this book she would totally freak out and screaming over here for at least 3 hours before going back to read it. I don't think she is that good at keeping a big secrets.

I don't think there is anything to worry about. Chris's book doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful and amazing and thoroughly enjoyable. I was a huge Harry Potter fan, but the books weren't perfect. I still enjoyed the living heck out of them!

Re: The Land of Stories Main Thread
They lowered the age to 5 - 9 years? I wonder why.... Well, I haven't read the book yet and not that I expected it to be for 23 years old to make me feel good , but I wished they let there at least to 12 years old. I think the littlest kids can't even appreciate his humour so much..

This is from April 9, Shelf Awareness issue. They have this gif on their website, which said that you can click the gif to mail them a request for Advance Reading Copy for The Land of Stories while supplies last.

There's a discussion going on right now at P-F that the audio book may be cancelled. Jelly I know you ordered the audiobook too, did you get anything from Amazon saying it's been cancelled or delayed or anything? I hope it's just a delay. Narating an audio book takes a lot of time and unlike wirting which can be done any time anywhere as long as you have a laptop, reading the book will only happen in a recording studio and it will take countless hours, and it's a long novel! Anyway I hope this is just a scare and we will eventually see the audiobook. I would love to hear Chris' voice doing all kinds of voices and accents.
