Re: Project 527 for Chris's 22th Birthday
Chris Colfer is my Hero. He is my inspiration. This is my story. This is why Chris has helped me so much.
When I was 7 years old my mom died. It was really hard on my whole family especially my dad.
My dad still hasn’t gotten remarried after 11 years. He tells me that he never will.
In my heart I want him to get remarried. He always seems so lonely. I am so grateful for my dad. He raised me and 5 beautiful girls on his own.
Growing up without a mom was hard. Kids were so cruel to me. I didn’t feel like anyone really got what I was going through.
I had a really hard time making friends because my family moved around a lot. My dad never had a lot of money.
Trying to support 6 kids on your own… I can’t believe he did it. I am proud of my dad. My sisters were my best friends growing up.
When I was in 7th grade my dad got a stable job and we were able to live in the same place until I finished High School.
It’s funny because now that I look back at when I was young.. all my friends were girls. I always liked girls, but I never felt attracted to them.
When I was in 7th grade I realized I was different. I had crushes on boys instead of girls. I never let anyone know what was going on in my head though.
I was so insecure and didn’t want kids to have another reason to bully me. It wasn’t until I turned 16 that I came out to my family and friends.
My dad thought it was wrong, but told me he loved me. My sisters had a hard time with it at first. My entire extended family shunned me.
My family believes that being gay is a sin. I wasn’t allowed at any family parties. My grandparents on both sides seemed like they hated me.
When I told my friends most of them stopped being my friend. I got bullied so bad. I got called names everyday. I felt like everyone was talking about me.
I hated myself and my life. I wasn’t getting good grades at the time because I didn’t want to go to school. There were just so many things going on!!
I remember sitting in my room and telling myself that it would be so much easier just to kill myself.
I thought about suicide everyday! I even had come up with plans on how I would do it.
I remember one day.. I was in my room crying and my sister walked in and told me my friend Sarah was at the door.
She came up to my room and sat next to me. She told me that she loved me. We talked for hours!
One of the things she mentioned was Glee. She told me that I should sit down and watch it.
When I started watching Season 1&2 I fell in love with Kurt. I remember crying my eyes out because he was so much like me.
His mom had died & he had gotten bullied. He was so strong! He gave me hope! He gave me strength.
I remember looking up Chris Colfer and finding out that he was gay too! He also had a sister with a disability!
My little sister Erica has down syndrome. It was amazing to find out that Kurt & Chris both had things that I related with.
I swear I watched every interview and everything that Chris was in! Glee Made me happy again! Chris made me happy again!
I decided that I was going to be who I am no matter what people thought about me.
After I started to be myself, people started to accept me. I still got bullied, but I didn’t let them hurt me.
My family still struggles with it, but they love me.
I will be forever grateful to Chris Colfer. For not only playing Kurt in the TV show, but for being himself!
He inspires me everyday to be who I am and to dream big!

Re: Project 527 for Chris's 22th Birthday
YOU SAVE ME!
Hey Chris. I wrote in a couple of months ago but a lot has changed throughout that time and I just wanted to tell you that you help me a lot.
I feel like you’re a friend helping me through my anxiety and depression, like you’re there with me every step of the way.
I want to be a better person and I am inspired to really make a difference in others’ lives; I want to be the positive light in everyone’s life and be like you.
You help me make the hard decisions in life. What Would Chris Colfer Do (WWCCD) is a regularly asked question
I really do love you and I can’t thank you enough for what you do for me.
All I have to do is turn on Glee and hear you sing and my mood becomes happier and I have something beautiful to smile at.
I can’t wait to meet you. xx @ERINGLEE

To an Amazing Person c:
Even though I personally have never been through a struggle over sexuality and the people around me, I have been so inspired by you and your charater on Glee.
You always seem so carefree and happy when when you speak and Kurt’s story is so heart wrenching and amazing as well.
Happy Birthday and keep being amazing for everyone out there that looks to you for insperation and help :D

Re: Project 527 for Chris's 22th Birthday
Thank you
I just wanted to thank you, Chris. For a few things.
Thanks for playing Kurt. ´Cause he´s simple the best - dressed - fictional character ever and I love him to death.
Not to mention that you are portraying him phenomenal. It´s time they invent the Oscar category “TV Series”, ´cause I think you´d totally own that shit
Thanks for all the inteviews you´ve ever made. ´Cause they light up my days. They´re great.
Thanks for your tweets. They light up my days, too, you know. And your even one of those who actually communicate with your fans and we are all grateful for that.
But most of all: Thank you, for being you. Open, honest, brave and a role model to so many of us. Yeah, that´s true. So don´t be so freaking modest about it
You give so much strength to so many of us Colfer-stans. You give ME so much strength. Every day.
Especially on the bad ones, when everyone is telling me AGAIN that I will never achieve my dreams and that I should start being realistic.
Or when they tell me to stop loving the person that I love just because she´s the same gender as me.
I don´t know, if you know it already, but I know it for sure:
You are saving some lifes here, mister.
So stay and come as you are. (Did I just quote Nirvana - sorry, my bad.)
Because your llama army loves you for YOU. Happy Birthday, Herzlichen Glückwunsch, from Germany.
In love, thanks and respect,
Antonia, member of that army although I´m 18, not 14 anymore
P.S. Here´s an imaginary “cyber” diet coke as a little present. *tadaaa*

Re: Project 527 for Chris's 22th Birthday
Dear Chris,
Happy birthday!
I once heard a story about how in high school, you were denied a solo for Defying Gravity,
because it was a girl song, and then not too long after, you were singing it on Glee.
I’m a girl, currently enrolled in an engineering school made up of over 80% male students,
and I face a lot of sexism and prejudice because there’s a mentality than only men can like to build machines.
Whenever someone makes a comment or tries to bring me down, though, I remember your story and I remember that I can do this too!
So thanks for inspiring me to achieve my dreams every day, and I hope 22 is wonderful!
Love,
Maura

Re: Project 527 for Chris's 22th Birthday
A Big Happy Birthday To The Best Guy!
I want to say thank you, mainly because of how strong you are.
Whenever you talk about your past and everything you went through, it makes me admire how strong you are.
It makes me believe that whatever is thrown my way will never be enough to break me.
Secondly, I think it’s amazing how much you’ve achieved at such a young age, it inspires me to follow my own dreams as you have done yours.
So thank you, for everything you’ve done and for everything you are, for being you and for making people believe in themselves.
I hope you have the best of birthdays!
Love, Agnes.
