Re: Music and Concerts
I like to listen to soundtracks and scores from various films. For example, the "American Beauty" soundtrack tells a story on its own. A brilliant soundtrack for a brilliant film. I love Thomas Newman's work: https://www.youtube.com/user/ElJovit/videos?view=0

I like soundtracks. They can be from either movies or series.

This is a song that was cut from a 1938 Shirley Temple movie called "Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm". Audio only. The song reminds me of Chris' love for fairy tales: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtdg8PdUmbw

Re: Music and Concerts
I would kill to hear Kurt sing this on Glee, specifically to Adam: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdepvOa-QzA
I think all of the lyrics are perfect for his and Kadam's situation.

Love this song. Although I'd have chosen For Your Entertainment, only because my eyes want to see him doing that performance. But this's a good choice too.
Re: Music and Concerts
^ Haha! Whenever there is a fanfiction written about Kurt singing an Adam Lambert song, it's always, always, always "For Your Entertainment"! I actually read a really good one about Kurt singing that one. But yes, I'd love to see/hear Kurt sing that one as well!
This is something I found a long time ago (it's a Klaine fic, but it's well written): http://www.fanfiction.net/s/8657110/1/For-Your-Entertainment
You're welcome!

Re: Music and Concerts
LOL
Once I came across with a fanfic in which Sue asked him to perform that song in front of lot of teenagers. Sadly the fic was uncompleted, so I don't know what happen then. But I still remember he got in the choir room wearing his FYE outfit, and Mercedes was drooling.
I think this OT. And btw, thanks for the link.

LOL! Of course she would be drooling! Sounds like a fun story!

That girl sings well. And I've to confess I can't avoid to be biased when it comes to Pretty/Unpretty.
Listening on repeat this song
I'm in love with the coreography, even though isn't so simple, I think it can be learned by anyone.

Re: Music and Concerts
I also love the choreography of that video you posted.
Since many of you are curious about watching "Smash", here is my favorite number from the season. It's an original song from the indie musical on the show called "Hit List". This song is all about people getting in the way of star crossed lovers. Sounds lame, but the choreography is just beautiful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-eNiM86T5E

Re: Music and Concerts
I'm glad you liked it. Actually for me she's a good dancer.
And I saw the video you posted (btw do you know how to embed a video?) and you said the song's about people getting in the way of two lovers, for me the coreography represents that very well. I like how everytime he tried to approach to her, the dancers did different movements to pushed him away. And though it looks simple, probably is was hard to organize every step.
And the song itself sounds like one I've heard before. But I can't remember the name.

I have no idea how to embed a video! LOL! I am pretty clueless when it comes to most technology. I was just wondering when someone would notice!

And speaking of "Smash"...apparently they really are going the RENT route with the indie, off-Broadway musical in the show called "Hit List". It looks like they are

- Spoiler:
- killing off one of the young creators of the show suddenly, which will then gather interest in the show. Due to word-of-mouth popularity, the show will then be transfered over to Broadway where it will be in direct competition with the Broadway blockbuster "Bombshell" at the Tony's (the series finale).

Re: Music and Concerts
Listening to this song, I think the lyrics fits well with the situation Kurt is going through at this moment with you know who.
Some of the lines say:
When the winds stop,
nothing will be as before,
in the change, there's always a revolution.
...
Its the time. Our story is ended for us.
...
I don't know about you.
but I can't breathe, and the best version of you
isn't for me anymore.
And you and me, we had a last dance, a rose to pretend a happy ending.
Re: Music and Concerts
I recently heard this song on a Eurovision CD and I can't get it out of my head! And I can't seem to stop replaying it either. There's not much singing but the instrumental music is so haunting and beautiful

This song is epic! I remember I listened to this song when I was a child! I'm glad you like it, because is so beautiful.
Re: Music and Concerts
^ You listened to it when you were a child? Let me do some Google-fu and... whoa, I hadn't realized that this song is that old. It apparently is the winner of the Eurovision Song contest in 1995. That's 18 years ago!
It's a beautiful song indeed. However, for some strange reason, the opening lines of the song makes me think of 'Shrek' or some Disney princess spoof, where the princess starts singing to the forest animals in this melodious voice before she suddenly turns homicidal and kicks some serious ass.

I thought it was older than it is. From the 80's maybe. And still I can't believe you didn't know about this song, I remember the first time I listened to it was because of a soap opera, it was part of the background music. And years later it was Shrek that brought the song to my mind again. Was the first one, right?
Re: Music and Concerts
^ This is my first time listening to Adam Lambert, and I have to say, his voice is unique and quite amazing . A lot of people thought he was unjustly robbed of the winning spot of American Idol in 2009, right?
It's probably Shrek but I really can't remember clearly. As you've stated, this song/music tends to be used as background music and background music is not something that I pick up consciously when I watch a film.
I seriously didn't know about the song. I grew up listening to songs on TV shows like Muppet babies, Kidsongs and Sesame Street. We didn't have MTV and my parents only listened to golden oldies.
