Today I met the beautiful Chris Colfer. On Tuesday, two of my friends and I waited outside for three hours to get the wristbands. And then today we spent 9 hours in the parking lot of Barnes & Noble. The 12 hours was definitely worth it though. When I got up to him I kind of just blanked and at the last second I finally remembered that speaking was a thing. I was telling him to excuse how I looked because I had been waiting outside for 9 hours and he was like “No! You’re so cute!” and then was like “you waited that long?!?!? That’s crazy!” And beforehand I was planning on telling him about how Struck By Lightning was one of my favorite books (I got that one signed as well) but I just like said it real quick when I was getting pushed away. He was like “omg that’s so sweet, thank you!” But yeah, he’s just a really nice human being and it was so wonderful to meet him. And yeah idek what to say. Sadly this is the only picture I currently have of me with him and he’s not even looking at me (I’m the one in blue). But yeah still wonderful.

i met chris colfer today and it was super quick but it was INCREDIBLE. the line went really fast and we were towards the beginning so we only waited 45 minutes at most. once we got inside i started shaking and i couldn’t believe that he was in the same room as me. we weren’t allowed to use our phones for pictures or videos while we were in line so i dont have a pic of me with him, which sucks but it was so worth it to see him in person. i had it all planned out in my head on how it would go and what i would say to him, but once i walked up and actually talked to him, i froze up and completely forgot everything i wanted to say. i started off with the usual “hi how are you?” and he did the same for me, then i asked “do you like massachusetts?” (the state i live in) and he responded with “i LOVE massachusetts” and it really did sound like he loves it here which is awesome. i then thanked him and asked for a high five and he gave me one and that was amazing, his hand was really soft. i then said a final thank you and walked off so my little sister who was with me could have her turn. all in all the experience meeting him was very fast and there was very little time for conversation, but im thankful i got to have any conversation with him at all. i was still trying to process it in my head that he was actually standing in front of me, so i couldnt say all of the stuff i wanted to say to him. i didnt even get to tell him i loved him and im kicking myself for that. im praying that he adds another book to TLOS series and does another signing so i can meet him again. he was so sweet and so beautiful in person (and smaller than i thought he’d be) and it still doesnt seem real that i met him. i’m so grateful that he does these signings for his fans because it’s an experience i’ll never forget. thank you chris colfer, my love for you is even stronger than it was before. i’m so proud of you.

Lad of Stories - Chris Colfer booksigning



There were about 350 people at Barnes & Noble this afternoon to get copies of Chris Colfer’s latest installment in the Land of Stories series, so there will be better pictures and more ecstatic recountings out there to find, if there aren’t already.  I would, however, like to point out that even when it was my turn at the signing table, as about the 290th person, he was still charming, personable, and in a resolutely good mood as he denied his hand being sore at all, though his pen was nearly dead.  He asked each person a question, even if it was just ‘where are you from?’ or ‘how are you doing?’ and when interacting with the kids in line his smile got about sixteen degrees wider and it was absolutely lovely to watch. I wondered a little about whether it’s easier or harder to just do a book signing as opposed to a reading/Q&A - I’m the sort of person who does better with reflected energy, so I think I’d prefer the latter nearly always, but I imagine answering the same questions over and over does lose its shine eventually, and it’s not exactly a short tour he’s got planned.
From the logistical side of things, I’ve never been to a book-signing where the crowd control was so nearly like a color-coded cattle pen, but to the bookstore staff’s credit, everyone was pleasant and helpful, and to the crowd’s credit, 98% of them were cheerful too.  And to Colfer’s credit, he was as generous with his time as his attention: he signed as many books as you brought to the table, and given the crowd he easily could have justified asking it to be just one per person.  So well done all around, everyone pat yourselves on the back. 
(Hope they gave him a *giant* glass of ice water when he was done, though, keeping the door open to the line outside for hours did a real number on the AC in the building!)

The best part of the book signing was probably when Chris showed up, because I was down at the back end where he came in. And his car pulled up and people were all “I bet that’s him” “yeah! That’s his security guard” and then he got out of the car and I expected screaming because I’ve been in concert lines before? But basically everyone just went silent and he smiled and people stayed silent and he went inside and then I just heard probably 50% of the line let out this high pitched childlike giggle.

OKAY SO some people want to hear the specifics of the meeting, though to others it probably sounds underwhelming. But I don’t care because thsi short meeting means fucking a lot to me.
So I got to the signing like 3 hours early and was in the second group. Two of my lovely friends Julia R and Heather were with me even though they weren’t getting shit signed. I also talked to the two girls behind me who were really awesome (one of them took the pictures for me). It was pretty fun just hanging out with my friends and waiting but when we got inside I was so nervous. Like I didn’t know what to say but it wouldn’t of mattered because they usher you up, you get your shit signed, and you go.
SO I got up to Chris and holy moly that man is fucking beautiful in person. He said “hey sweetie how are you?” and it took a lot not to scream. I said I was doing great and thank you for all your work. He said you’re welcome and that is when Alla leaned over like “did you see her tattoo?” He glanced at it and smiled but didn’t really recognize it but then Alla read it out loud (once upon a time there was a girl who flew) and he perked up and looked really happy and asked if it was real. I told him yeah and he looked really excited and said it was really cool and then everyone around was looking at it. I told him “yeah so I’ve been doing some advertising for you because of this so you’re welcome” and he laughed and said thank you. 
Alla took me to the side and asked for a picture of my tattoo saying “I know this is kind of awkward because of where it is” but I tole her not to worry and she took a picture.
Me and my friends hung around for a bit and I bought another book then we headed out.
It was fucking awesome. Chris Colfer likes my tattoo of a quote from his book/movie. Fucking word.

Today was the best day ever! This was the first time I met Chris and he was so sweet and nice and hes beautifuler in person and I made him smile but I made a complete idiot of myself but its okay because I got to see him smile because of the gift I got him (Queen Elizabeth 50 glorious years book)
