Kurt Hummel Spoiler Thread - part 12

Post  BigDestiny on 4/8/2013, 12:43 pm

colfhummel wrote:[Hi this is my 1st real post here, so um hi *waves shyly* ]

*sighs* To be honest I can't even feel excited about the upcoming Kurt solo anymore, even though we now know it's for Burt, but I'm too...scared of what is going to happen in that episode. I see so many speculations going around of Burt being the ~force~ to bring Klaine back together and just thinking about it makes me sick.

While I'm being in the minority here who likes Blaine and Klaine this forced reunion is the last thing I want and even more so if Burt is involved...:/ What about what Kurt wants? What about 'I desperately want to be over him?'
I'm still wondering if Burt even knows what happened between Blaine and his son because in what universe would any dad be still so civil to the guy who cheated and broke their kid's hearts? I just don't get it. But okay, then again, I hardly get anything that happens on Glee anymore.

Like, what happened with Adam. So far, there's no word he's coming back anytime soon. So either, Kurt's and Adam's movie date was a disaster (maybe he dragged Kurt into some bloody gore movie which traumatized him or something) or Adam has been eaten by an escaped lion from the zoo or he went back to England or maybe he's been abducted by Aliens - we just don't know. Thanks, Ryan.

I hate being so negative but I just can't help feeling bitter when it comes to this show.

And see, while I really would like to rip off Ryan's yellow hat and stomp on it and maybe tell him that his show is going to give me a stomach ulcer someday, insulting him with foul language like this, is just...no. Especially when it comes from a 30 year old woman. But then again, I had to learn that often the older shippers are the most immature ones, so not really surprised about that one posting that's been linked here.

Also, when it comes to NY vs MK, I think 90% of the people care more about the NY side - even some of the more rational Blaine fans do - because the stories on the Lima side have been so awful and boring overall. And no matter how much Ryan shoves the Newbies down our throats, the majority of the audience will never care about them to the same extent as they cared about the originals.

Oops, this got kind of long, sorry D:
Hello! baibai

I completely understand where you are coming from, in liking Kurt and Blaine. And while there are those that won't ever want them together, there was an opportunity this year to work on the issues that people have with their relationship. But the show is fixated on this idea that Blaine is too megasexy-sugarfree-lowinfat-whatever to need any character growth. So we don't see why he couldn't let a month pass before he started having doubts. We're told (by the show and Blaine fans) that we don't need to notice that Blaine only cares about what's right in front of him (ie Sam). And I'm just supposed to hand wave the cheating and have faith that it'll never happen again, despite all evidence to the contrary. Klaine could have had a really moving storyline this year, but RIB just refused to write it.

Oh, and on the topic of that Klaine poster, I've got a good decade on her. And I would hope that even at my most emotional, I'm not coming off that unbalanced. If I am, I apologize.

In Glee world adults(Will) don't have friends their own age so they hang out kids instead. I won't be surprised if Burt and Blaine are best buddies and have football marathons every weekend.

As things stand now, I'd hate for Klaine to be reunited. I could stomach a few sweet scenes that may draw them closer to a reconciliation, but a full-on getting back together would make me angry and bitter. It's too soon. They've barely talked about their problems, and there's been no real growth or attempt to make amends on Blaine's end, and the last we knew, Kurt was still hurt and uncertain and desperately wanted to move on. Nothing's happened between then and, from what we know, 4x21 to make me think Kurt's heart is healed and he's ready to try again, nor has Blaine shown or proven he can be devoted to Kurt and be trusted and stay faithful - him suddenly wanting Sam, instead of remaining true to Kurt, actually shows the opposite.

Exactly. Nothing makes me more angry than all the Shippers yelling how they want Klaine to be back together already. Like, are we watching the same show? Or maybe, they are just too young and have little to no relationship experience to even fully grasp what 'cheating' means. And it makes me think, if they really do care so much about their beloved characters as they always proclaim. Or maybe they only care about one part, the one that starts with 'B'...

ColferGirl wrote:

In Burt's case, I hope he doesn't know. Kurt often keeps secrets from his Dad, if he thinks they'll hurt him or bother him; Kurt bottles up his pain and tries to keep it hidden. He tries to deal with his suffering on his own, for better or worse. I wouldn't be surprised if only Rachel and Finn know Kurt's side of the story about the cheating, and only because they were there that night when Blaine told him. So I hope Burt is completely in the dark about it. Otherwise, it's true that I can't think of a single real parent who would still act so chummy with his son's ex-boyfriend, knowing he cheated on him and broke his heart. Even if Burt really liked Blaine, I'd imagine he wouldn't spend time with him anymore for Kurt's sake. I can't imagine any parent who would put their liking of a boyfriend/girlfriend over their own kid's feelings in the matter. And even now that Kurt and Blaine are somewhat friends again, I don't know anyone who hangs out with just their friend's parents alone, without their friend being there.....

You're right, I can totally see Kurt keeping that 'little detail' from his dad when he's telling him about his break-up with Blaine. And I really, really hope that is what happened. I want a scene where Kurt finally confesses the full story to Burt, after his dad kind of tries to push him together with Blaine again - thinking it's the best for his kid. Oh dear, I wouldn't want to be Blaine in that moment then.

But then again, like you said...Burt seems to spend time with Blaine and he brings him to NY without even asking Kurt beforehand and...like even if he didn't know about the cheating, this thing leaves a sour taste in my mouth :/ no wonder Kurt seemed kind of distant. (Kudos to Chris' subtle acting here)

Also, seeing how bad the writing has become, I wouldn't be surprised if they really did something awful like using Burt's sickness to bring Kurt and Blaine back together. *shudders*

I can see it happening: Burt is lying on his bed, coughing and weakly reaching out for Kurt's hand. "Eternity. 21. Klendgame. This is your destiny, my son." And then Burt vanishes Yoda-like in front of Kurt's eyes and then suddenly Blaine appears out of thin air, wearing a suit and giving Kurt a creepy grin. Next to him stands Ryan Murphy, wearing a pastor's gown and laughing maniacally. While we hear Kurt's screams of terror, the screen fades to black.

Wouldn't that be romantic? :')

Yes, the writers could have wondefully shown us the issues and problems that come with a long-distance relationship and they could've shown us a good and interesting storyline but lol nope of course Blaine has to cheat on Kurt and break his heart and then we don't even get to see Kurt's POV about it and instead get to see and hear how much Blaine suffers and at some point a big part of the Klaine fandom seems to have agreed upon the fact that this whole thing was Kurt's fault anyway since he didn't pay enough attention to Blaine....okay.

Cheating is such a delicate topic - especially to me - and god, they've just...messed it up completely. And now I should expect that Kurt's heart has healed and that Blaine has gained his trust back completely? Without them ever really having talked about anything?

I thought "How Will I Know" was a masterpeice. I'm so excited for "At The Ballet" now.

It is Glee. Of course they would

HWIK only had Kurt singing a bit in the background. I expect the same here. So I am rather cautious, even though I love the people involved.

Burt being Blaine's very own private mercenary would be terrible, but unless they start to improve their writing and really make Blaine face what he did (I highly doubt that) we probably will not see whether Burt knows or doesn't know about the cheating. It could potentially harm the perfect poster boy image of Blaine that they so desperately want to uphold.

But we'll see. Pitching the perfect dad basically against his only son and favoring a cheating ex would be horrible...truly horrible.

Once again, it is Glee. They happily destroy Kurt and Burt in order to make Blaine and Klaine work. In case they really use Burts cancer to reunite Klaine, they will regret it. It will burn so many bridges of people who are already cautiously watching as it is the final warning sign to stop. The viewers will drop. I am dead sure about that! I couldn't even stomach Kurt edits anymore, as it would be too painful to follow. Most likely, I'd use an FF as my headcannon and live happily ever after (...just the fact that I consider to resort to FANFICTION to love the story again, speaks volumes!).

Burt as Yoda... I need that as a GIF! ptdr

Hi baibai thanks :D and hey who knows, Murphy is known for trolling forums and tumblr, so maybe he sees my idea, wouldn't that be great? :p

Hey a fellow german, awesome :D

And the thing is, I think Murphy has no idea what caused the ratings of his once so popular and emmy-nominated show to drop so drastically. He probably thinks that the show needs even more McKinley/Newbie-stuff, more Blaine solos and more Klaine and everything else gets thrown under the bus. Maybe he should stop lurking on twitter so much and stop pandering to certain fanbases so much, because even if this certain group of fans is the most vocal one on twitter/tumblr doesn't mean they are actually a major part of the general audience who is responsible for ratings.
And if they pull that stunt with Burt as the Klainer 12 then I'm out for sure. I mean, I don't even watch the episodes anymore because it's gotten so painfully bad (I only stick to the Kurt edits) but like you, Lottie, I wouldn't be able to stomach even the Kurt scenes after that anymore.

Sigh. Remember when Glee was a good show that gave Chris great material to work with and got him Emmy nominations and won him a Golden Globe. Good times.

I can alreadý see the hairpulling happening all over the world if this happens. And somehow it's not fatfetched that Kurt would submit to his fathers wishes. (Writing that sentence was really painful.) The twisted minds of Glee writers read Ryan could subject Kurt to being that perfect daddies boy who out of habit agrees with Burt because they have that tight symbiosis. Especially if Burt digs out his convincing skills, has fallen to the Blaine trap and they manipulate the cancer to push Klaine ahead. No

This scenario and thought is sick and worth not thinking. I will always scream at the top of my lungs that Lima is bad for Kurt in so many ways, that atmosphere combined with Blaine, dimishes his entire persona.

What I don't get Ryan Murphy literally loves to punish fandoms. I am no shipper whatsoever for Britanna, but he treats that fandom like dirt. I have never seen such unprofessional behavior between fans and show runners. Why does he still pander to that one fandom, that is obviously bullying other fans and literally chases away the very needed and necessary GA? Sometimes I genuinely believe he wants to destroy the show, which doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

Considering Ryan Murphsy Dad died of that particular cancer, I just hope he actually treats that topic wit extreme care and not to pull some half-ass reconciliation stories. I can only hope.

Yeah, it is Ryan Murphy overall. I expect Burt to drop dead any second because of that. Of course only after he gave his mandatory 'Love and Forgive Blaine. He is a special Cupcake' speech.

I so, so, so hope to be proven wrong and overly negative!
