Sigh, so it is true. I know how it feels to lose a parent who is not yet old. Lost my dad when I was around his age. Hope they are coping well. 2016 is indeed a horrible year.

Oh no. It's such a horrible thing to hear. Especially if it was accidental. Wishing they can all find comfort in each other.

That is terrible. I was hoping it wasn't true so I didn't post earlier. My thoughts are with him and his family.
Man this year has started hard - just this week I went to two funerals - a very good friend of mine's dad committed suicide and my great-aunt died at the age of 90 just a few days ago.

Me too, when I was 24.fantastica wrote:Sigh, so it is true. I know how it feels to lose a parent who is not yet old. Lost my dad when I was around his age. Hope they are coping well. 2016 is indeed a horrible year.
It's heartbreaking losing someone who was relatively not that old yet, especially when it happens suddenly without any forewarning.
And you're right: 2016 really didn't have a good start (although there is misery and death in every year all over the world, only this year it's highlighted because we've had so many celebrity related deaths in January already).
My heart and thoughts go out to Chris and his family, especially his father, his sister and his mom's parents.
Such a tragic and terrible loss.

This is not the confirmation that I was hoping to hear.
My heart is broken for Chris, Hannah and their father and the rest of the Colfer family. Karyn was a remarkable, giving woman who loved her family above all else. To lose her so young is nothing short of a tragedy.

My heart breaks for the Colfer family, especially Hannah, who probably relied on Karyn more than anyone else in the family. My thoughts and prayers are with all of them.

That keeps running through my head as well. I'm sure her dad is also a good caregiver but it seemed like she was the main caregiver, and it would also be natural for her having been a nurse as a professionally too.

Re: Chris Colfer Appreciation Thread!--part 9
And Hannah is so young. She's just out of high school. As hard as it is for Chris, he's a grown man and is able to take care of himself. Hannah still very much needed her mother and to lose her now is going to be hard to overcome.
Thankfully the Colfers seem to be an exceptionally close family and they have a wide circle of family and friends to help them through this. Hannah will get plenty of support and I know that Chris will be there for her.

I've been thinking a lot about that big family trip to Europe they did last spring, and am so glad now Chris was able to do that with his family. He really hadn't had the time for something like that in the previous six years.

I'm really glad that this seems to have slipped pass the gossip mongers and that the Colfers are able to get through this without having to deal with the media as well. And that none of Chris's friends are trying to send sympathies via Twitter. This isn't the kind of thing that they should have to endure while having the public watching. I'm glad that the have their privacy here.

Just found out what happened. And I'm so heartbreaking and shocked, cantón believe Karyn died.Which das the reason,I dont know, but poor Chris and his family too. Karyn seemed like such a great mom,who was proud of their kids. Send my prayers to the Colfer Family.
Re: Chris Colfer Appreciation Thread!--part 9
Same as brisallie, I've only just heard about the tragic news of Chris's mother's death.
My heart goes out to Chris and his family. I am hoping, and at the same time confident, that Chris will have his close family and friends around him to support him during his time of grief and loss.
What this has taught me is that life is fleeting, and that we should always cherish our loved ones while we can; for we will never know when they will be taken away from us.

Oh well.
Understandably per recent events, Chris might not have shown up for the Elton bash ( I hope some photos prove me wrong).
Still bummed if he missed his first Oscar Viewing party, after 5 or 6 straight years of going.

Pics have come out and no sign of Chris.
He probably needs more time. And all the condolences he would probably get would have been hard to hear. I am sure the media are aware. Best not to risk it if the media started asking questions about his mum. My guess this will be a no go area for quite a while.
Hopefully we hear about TLOS5 soon.
Can't wait to see the cover and the title.
Hope he is doing a book tour this year.

Agree, but maybe he will show up next year. I don't blame him for not going. I don't think I would if I were him.

Re: Chris Colfer Appreciation Thread!--part 9
It's also possible that Chris did go to the Elton John Oscar viewing party but did not walk the red carpet to avoid the press.
He has been to several events in the past where he skipped the red carpet, and then we only heard that he went after all via snapshots made by other people inside that caught him in the background, or some person tweeting/instagramming about it.
But I would totally understand it if he didn't go at all last night.

either he went but skipped the publicity or he didn't go at all. it's still too soon to be in a celebratory mood. hope he and his family are doing ok.
i didn't watch the oscar at all last night. I haven't seen any of the movies so i really can't get excited. as far as red carpet fashion is concerned, they are posted everywhere today and none of them I can afford.
