3. The Land of Stories
Even though this book, written by actor and author Chris Colfer, is geared toward a kid audience, his imaginary world with our childhood fairy tale idols is perfect for anyone of any age. The story is about a pair of twins who go on adventures in a book called The Land Of Stories, which is a portal into another world where the Princes and Princesses from our favorite books come to life. There are four books in the series, with a fifth one potentially in progress, and it is a book you won’t want to put down.

ICM Partners Pre-Emmy brunch, Santa Monica:
The brunch-time setting of ICM Partners’ Saturday Emmy gathering is always a nice break from the whirlwind of Friday night partying. ICM chief Chris Silbermann and producer Julia Franz opened up their Santa Monica backyard for a few hundred guests, many of whom were eyeing the pool as the temperature neared the 90-degree mark. An array of fruit and vegetable juices helped guests beat the heat, as did other kinds of grape-based beverages.
The relaxed vibe lent itself to spirited conversations. “Modern Family’s” Christopher Lloyd and Vince Gilligan compared notes for a time. ABC’s Howard Davine and AMC/SundanceTV’s Charlie Collier talked a little shop. “Better Call Saul’s” Tom Schnauz and wife Kristin Carey showed off pictures of baby Teddy, born about six weeks ago. Greg Lipstone collected congrats for his recent move from the agency to CEO of All3Media America, his longtime client.
Among others who mingled and munched: Showtime’s Matt Blank, BET’s Debra Lee, HBO’s Len Amato, CBS’ Scott Koondel, AMC’s Joel Stillerman, Turner’s Sam Linsky, Michael Gendler of Gendler & Kelly, Amazon’s Roy Price, Brillstein Entertainment Partners’ Jon Liebman. Actors spotted included Christoph Waltz, Chris Colfer, Pablo Schreiber, Alfre Woodard, Tatiana Maslany, Jeff Goldblum, Jason Ritter, Melanie Lynskey and “Chasing Life” star Italia Ricci.

Re: Chris Colfer Appreciation Thread!--part 9
Off the top of my head, these are the Season 1/2 Glee actors who have sung outside of Glee publicly in some sort of "solo" capacity in the last 2/3 years.
Lea Michele
Kevin Mchale
Jenna Ushowitz
Dianna Agron
Amber Riley
Naya Rivera
Jane Lynch
Matt Morrison
Chord Overstreet
Darren Criss
Mark Salling
The only ones I can't recall singing are Chris, Harry and Heather. I count call the "Trevor Live" thing where some of them were singing harmony background on stage TBH.
We know that Chris has songs in the Noel Coward movie...but anyways on the top of my wishlist is that Chris will sing publicly some day. If he never does again, that's fine (though a BW musical would be nice) but i just love his voice.

...thus my saying singing "publicly". I would love for Chris to sing live in a venue is what I meant.

Re: Chris Colfer Appreciation Thread!--part 9
^ singing in a tv show is still "public" isn't it? I assume public means the public can all see/hear him, as oppose to singing in private - like a private event, backyard party etc. What's more "public" than tv? Unless you are talking about "concert"?

^Plus 'Hot in Cleveland' was filmed in front of a live studio audience.
So as for "publicly" that should count.

Re: Chris Colfer Appreciation Thread!--part 9
Was his singing taped or lipsynched for the big number in HIC?
However you guys are right, the "Danny Boy" number was live and it was beautiful if all too brief.
I just wonder if we will ever be treated to Chris Colfer the singer in some venue, as opposed to his singing for a role.
Like I said before , if we never do , I'll be good with it, as longer as I hear him singing in other projects, such as the Noel movie. His voice is just so beautiful to me.

Re: Chris Colfer Appreciation Thread!--part 9
I believe they are all live. We had this discussion before. With all this half singing and half talking it's just too damn hard to lip sync, and in front of a live audience imagine the bad rep it would generate when audience knows they are all fake. This is unlike glee which uses a single camera and must have dozens of takes per scene due to all the angles, etc.. One scene alone can take half a day or more. So it's important to help actors save their voice and focus on their acting by lip syncing. No live audience will have that kind of patience for endless takes, and they have multiple cameras to cover various angles. The only reason some people speculated about lip syncing is because chris sang so well. well, ladies and gents, chris colfer DOES sing very well, live or not. he practiced singing daily in his shower for most of his life, as well as in theaters during his youth, and most of all, 6 years of professional singing on glee w/ likely help from professional vocal coach(es). Singing was so effortless when he did it on HIC. It's no wonder someone think it's too good to be true.

via ccn"Celebs were aplenty. A handful of Modern Family cast members including Julie Bowen, Ty Burrel, and Sarah Hyland, mingled alongside the likes of Nicey Nash, Tilda Swinton, Chris Colfer, and Elizabeth Banks, as The Weeknd’s “I Can’t Feel My Face” brought attendees to the wooden dance floor of the barn-like venue."
