Re: Bistro on the corner
Romina, I am doing fine. We actually went to dinner in Boston the past two nights, in part to support local business and in part to say that we aren't letting terrorists (whether it was individual or a army of people responsible for this) keep us from living and enjoying life.
They have been using the phrase "Boston Strong" to describe the spirit of the city, and that is what we are. Boston is a very strong and resilient town, and we will support the vicitms ot his senseless act of violence.
If you are interested in viewing this, the Boston Bruins played this video before the game tonight:
And here is the fans at the game singing our National Anthem:
This was the first major event in the city since the attack, so this says a lot about the spirit of our city.

Glad to hear you are doing fine, Jelly. I really liked that first video. I hope everyone else in Boston is doing fine as well.

As soon as I heard the awful news and heard that this took place in Boston, I creepily thought of you, Karen! I'm so glad you're okay and I'm so sorry this happened in your own backyard.
This kind of thing is the reason I stopped watching the news. Too depressing. I think hermits have the right idea.

Agreed. My step dad watches/listens to the news all the time and all it does it make me worry. My mom tells my little sister and I not to pay attention to it.

If anyone is watching the news from Boston, I just wanted to let you know that I am in a safe area. I am at home about 12-15 miles north of the police activity where they are looking for the second bombing suspect.
Re: Bistro on the corner
man, i hear it's a war zone over there. i hope they catch that motherfucker soon, with no more causalities. do they know if it was just the act of those to two nutcases or if they are a part of a cult/terrorist cell/some movement or other.

Re: Bistro on the corner
There was a shootout on a residential street in a suburb of Boston last night. One of the bombers was shot, and killed. He had an explosive device strapped to his body. The guys are brothers, aged 26 and 19, from Chechnaya. The older one is the one who died. The younger one carjacked another car, and ran over his brothers body when trying to escape. He abandoned the car shortly there after.
Before the shootout, they carjacked an SUV, and told the driver they were the bombers before letting him go. They robbed a convienence store last night, killed an MIT police officer, shot another police officer for the public transportation system.
The city is really shut down. They shut down all modes of public transportation, and taxi service.
It's still unfolding here.

Re: Bistro on the corner
one day they will turn this into a movie. it's gripping just to read the news stories. thanks to the surveilance camera, or else it would be really hard to find these guys. i am amazed how fast they found them.
i am all for surveilance camera covering a lot of public places. it really helps solving crimes (and hopefully deterring crimes too).

Hardly ever there're good things on news, as if people live in misfortune all the time.
@Jelly, I didn't know about the shooting until I read it here. I'm glad you're fine.

The news about Boston is in our media here (in the Netherlands) as well. I hope they find the other brother too soon.
Boston must be frightening to be in now. I hope you can stay indoors and don't have to travel, Karen, untill he is caught.

Please stay safe, Karen. If I were you, I'd become a complete shut-in until this bastard was caught.

My Government teacher was telling us about this today. I hope you and all the other residents are safe. Did they say how long the city would be shut down?

They caught the guy last night thanks to an observant resident. He was hiding in a boat and the owner noticed a hole in the cover with blood around it.
Re: Bistro on the corner
^So happy to hear the last guy was finally caught.

I'd say yes. You're an adoptive mother of a cat.

It means the tumblr fans are gonna bitch like crazy, and the "crazies" are gonna start harassing Chris and Darren even more than they already do, because they have no where else to unload all their delusions.
Re: Bistro on the corner
^Wait, does this mean that tumblr will cease to exist?
Or simply that its format will change?
(I have never used Yahoo, so I have no clue what's happening or why they would wanna buy tumblr.)

Yahoo tends to shut a lot of the sites it buys down, so now the tumblr fans are freaking out.
