A person on tumblr dredged up a snarky blog post I wrote in July, predicting what would happen to Kurt on the show this year. Get a load of what I said.

A bitter, bitter little scenario. Here it is. I have got an advance look at the Glee scripts for the whole Season Four Season. I know everything that happens to Kurt. I will let you know now so you are not surprised and hurt later.

1. As the first episode begins, he will be working at the Lima Bean. The very first scene of the season shows him serving a latte to Sebastian, who leaves a penny tip. Sebastian will sing as Kurt winces.
2. After his shift each day he goes and hangs out with his good pal Will, who is always quick to remind him that even though he had that weird, ugly girl voice, he was always a great team player. Will sings while Kurt nods.
3. Sebastian flirts with Blaine, who rebuffs him. Sebastian and Blaine sing a really hot, sexy duet.
4. Kurt offers to help New Directions by recruiting Unique, who was such a talented effeminate guy, unlike himself. Unique sings.
5. Rachel sings about how much she misses Kurt. She decides it’s up to her to get him to New York City.
6. Rachel meets with Sarah Jessica Parker. They sing a duet about missing your best friend.
7. Rachel convinces Sarah Jessica Parker to hire Kurt as a gopher at her fashion magazine.
8. Kurt is very grateful that Rachel has rescued him. Blaine sings about how much he’s going to miss Kurt.
9. Kurt goes to New York City and goes to work for SJP. The entire magazine staff sing a song about working for the magazine. The only person who does not sing is Kurt.
10. Sebastian sings a love song to Blaine. They cheat together. A duet ensues.
11. Rachel tries out for an off-Broadway show. She gets cast as the leading lady. Kurt tries out. He is asked to work in the wardrobe department. Rachel sings a song from the show as Kurt shows her dresses.
12. Kurt finds out about Sebastian and Blaine. Blaine breaks up with him because Sebastian is THERE for him and Kurt is not. Rachel sings Kurt a song of encouragement.
13. Season Four ends with Rachel in her off-Broadway debut. Kurt Hummel, as the dresser for the cast, watchesfrom the wings and says he’s so happy that his best friend has had all her dreams come true. And he got to go to New York and watch her succeed! He even gets to take care of her costumes for her!
14. Blaine announces that he’s been accepted into NYADA. He also misses Kurt. He is going to dump Sebastian and take Kurt back. Kurt is ecstatic that his man wants him back again. Yes, he’s in New York. He has a job in the theatre. He gets to watch Rachel succeed and Blaine is willing to take him back. That’s all he could possibly hope for! Yes, Kurt Hummel has had a pretty good year. Blaine sings about how much they love each other.

It's not an exact match... but it's way too damned close for comfort.

OMG. This is awful. Horrible I hope the similarities are just a coincidence. They just can't be that cruel to Kurt. Singing hot duets with somebody while your boyfriend is around, dumping him after cheating on him, Kurt being happy for Rachel's success, getting in Vogue thanks to her. Just NO.
I don't like what happened on the show, but this scenario is so much worse.

It's bad enough to see that all over the general threads and tumblr, but I really don't need it in a Kurt thread.

That's so mean, why people talk about other characters in a place that it belongs to Kurt for instance. Ok I don't see nothing wrong to mention any other character if is related to Kurt but they have to understand that it not the thread to post about the feelings of that character.

^It's not just the Blaine excusing (although that really pisses me off too), but it's irritating that you can't discuss mainly Kurt in a Kurt thread, without Klainers/Blainers coming in to give Blaine's POV, and/or defending Blaine getting screentime and songs in the next few episodes.
And we Kurtsies shouldn't 'complain' because we can't tell by the spoilers that Kurt will have a lot less. (Duh: Kurt gets no songs and is even absent in 2 out of the 3 next episodes. You don't need Einstein's level of brilliance to figure that out.)

I don't mind reading about Blaine's reasons for cheating in general threads or Blaine/Klaine centered ones, but there has to be a place on a forum (besides here in CCFF) where I can talk about Kurt with no or little regard for Blaine's POV. And that place should be a Kurt thread on a general Glee forum.

The lack of impartiality on even a Kurt only board is why I stopped posting on that particular forum. It became too tiring to try to adjust my words so I wouldn't bring a lynching party on over to the forum. The Kurt-centric part of the forum shouldn't have to spend it's time defending how we feel about other characters. I don't hate Blaine, I resent that he gets more songs and positive attention from other characters (he's sex on a stick after all) and when I express that we are basically told that we should be glad what we get, as if Blaine deserves more attention than Kurt. It is actually the Blainers that push me towards not liking Blaine, because they are so rabid and have tunnel vision. How I feel about them is reflected in how I feel about Blaine.

Blaine even seems to supersede Rachel at this point, which I feel is really weird. More songs and more story than what she is getting. Admittedly it is hard to do much NY when there are so few people located in NY, but she is supposed to be the star. Glee is just weird. The ever present wish that we have a payoff for Kurt continues, it's taken years, because Season 3 was just a nightmare. Best to have no expectations or hopes, or pretend that things make sense.

Well, the split narrative is causing a problem. They want the show to be about McKinley, but they drove out all most effective characters and kept the chaff. This is the first time I've ever seen a television show voluntarily sideline its strongest people in favor of very weak newcomers. I think the creative team is facing a crisis between what they want the show to be and what their audience wants to see. That may be why they've sidelined Hummelberry; these two kids are stronger than the rest of the cast combined, and the show runners want to keep them from stealing focus all the time. It's a risky gamble and I don't know how it's going to work. Notice that Finn becomes much more prominent as Rachel and Kurt are shoved to the background. This is calculated. They have miscalculated, however, about how angry it makes some audience members for Kurt to be first horrifically betrayed and then entirely ignored.

I, for one, am getting sick and tired of Kurt having horrible things happen to him, and then not being shown onscreen as to how he responds or copes with or feels about the situation. If the writers choose to make him the victim of other people's actions or his own circumstances, the least they can do is show us how he reacts to the crap they've piled on him. It's bad enough that Kurt could only passively react to the bad things happening to him. Now they won't even show us his reactions. Kurt has lost his voice on the show, and I'm not talking about just his singing voice.

But he will never be the real Kurt, so why bother?

Chris killed those scenes, and Darren could not do any better.

This shows they are not really that interested in writing for Blaine, if they were they would have given him new storylines.

I think more and more people are getting tired of Blaine's solo's and probably not be all that interested in his Cheerio storyline because out it we got Roses Turn in Laryngitis.

Nothing could ever top that.

My guess it will something small then he leaves the Cheerio's.

Kurt's stories were bigger, the school president story, his Cheerio one, Blaine's stories haven't been they haven't been given the same care and screen-time. It is all rushed as this one will be as well.

If RIB really cared about the writing for the McKinley side why not write new stuff, why recycle stories. To me this says boredom and thus results in laziness.

The only new stuff we are seeing is for the New York side, mainly with Kurt.

Is Ryan subtley trying to get the spin off he wanted and only says he still wanted Glee around for four more seasons (though hopefully he was trolling there).

Whatever they've done with Kurt, they also give to Blaine, but with the additional benefits of allowing Blaine to sing more and be shown to succeed where Kurt had failed.

Just think of their similar story lines/past experiences: football, interested in Vogue and fashion, being bullied and transferring to Dalton, senior presidency, school musical, choir singing competitions, flashback scenes, admirers (Sebastian, Chandler), duets with Rachel, and now this.

They are using the formula Kurt Hummel in Blaine for people like Blaine.
But they forget one very important thing: Darren Criss is not talented as Chris Colfer.

I am still ragey about this latest spoiler, but you know what? Blaine will never be Kurt. We have been able to see Kurt grow from a young closeted boy into an out and proud gay man. He has grown and we have been there for it all. Blaine remains superficial and roles and wins are thrust upon him, but there is no thought or emotion behind it. I will never feel anything for Blaine, not only because of Darren's bad acting, but because there is no Blaine. He is still hiding behind Kurt and remains just an appendage as long as the writers continue to recycle storylines. Also, when Darren says he is riding someone's coat tails, he ain't kidding (something even Dan Radcliffe has figured out).

Whether true or no, I am going to pretend that RM wants Blaine to remain shallow, so that's why he is basically an anti-Kurt. How is Blaine supposed to be an underdog again?

if blaine wins prom king and get into nyada on his first try, while kurt stays in this non-existence limbo, i'm officially quitting the show. chris is the only reason i'm watching at all now, because the rest of the show is unbearable with blee and "the new kids on the block" deal. the entertainment level for me is now at an all time low and it won't take a lot for me to say bye-bye for good.
