Preach. I've been watching many more indie films lately and the writing, direction and performances are of far more higher calibre than so many commercial big budget movies. Pity they don't make as much money as those.

Tribeca Film's Synopsis for 'Struck by Lightning'
struckbylightning:
struckbylightning:
Even being killed by a bolt of lightning won’t keep budding young journalist Carson Phillips (Glee’s Chris Colfer) quiet. Trapped by his small-minded town, this outspoken high school senior recounts the last few weeks of his life through a series of upbeat flashbacks in this playful and energetic comedy written by Colfer himself. As his death date readily approaches, Carson struggles to keep it together only a short time longer while waiting on an admission letter from his dream college—his ticket out of banality.
Director Brian Dannelly (Saved!) fuses a vivid high school landscape with the intimate video footage shot by classmate Malerie (Rebel Wilson)—who encyclopedically chronicles the lives of her fellow students—adding to the feel of a genuine high school experience. Razor-sharp performances from Colfer and Allison Janney as his mother are reinforced by a memorable supporting cast, including Christina Hendricks (Drive), Angela Kinsey (The Office), and Sarah Hyland (Modern Family) who plays a mean-girl cheerleading captain. Fast-paced and searingly witty, Struck By Lightning proves Colfer is a multifaceted talent and that high school is an endless well for rousing entertainment.
This film is appropriate for teenagers and up.

I love Rebel for her tweets. I am so excited if SBL is coming to Australia.
I'm saying if because I want to wait until it is completely confirmed. I get too excited about something and it doesn't happen. I don't like to get my expectations up.

Re: Struck by Lightning Main thread
I love that synopsis for the film!! Especially the parts about what a multifaceted talent Chris is and his razor-sharp performance, I always love Chris praise. Overall it's a really glowing summary, it makes the movie sound really awesome I think, which is important for non-Chris fans who need to be lured by more than just Chris to see it.
I do hope that the lucky fans who get to see it at Tribeca will be respectful and not spoil it for the rest of us - or at least post warnings and put spoilers under cuts for those of us who don't want to know. I have no will power with Glee, but I definitely do for SBL, I don't want to know anything and I'll be very sad if I stumble upon a SBL spoiler post without warnings on accident.
I think non-spoilery fan reviews and impressions are fine, though, as well as whatever is going to be said during the Q & A.

Since we all are in a lot of different locations and we might be watching this movie at very different times (maybe, in term of months), I think we'll start a new thread anyway for all the people who have seen the film and want to write a review and discuss about it. People who don't want to be spoiled can ignore that thread and we'll keep this non-spoilery thread for them.

I don't want to be spoiled but I know that if there will be any spoiler I am going to read them anyway. I can't handle my curiosity.

I don't think reverse psychology will work.
Since I've decided to stay spoiler-free, I think I'll be suffering for a very long time, and based on the reviews so far, it'll be worth it .

Can we avoid the mention of you-know-who-but-don't-want-to in this thread? At this rate, we won't need the CC-DC shippers for ruining the mood for this film

He who must not be named must not be mentioned here either
And I'm curious to read a negative review by Kim because I know it'll be blatant lies.
