Re: The Land of Stories Main Thread
This just makes me so happy.
I like when we get stories like this. Sounds like quite a crowd is going to be there.
Then I remember not all Chris's fans have discovered him from Glee. There would be plenty that like him as an author or a film maker.
Those so called Chris fans can put Darren first, Chris has a lot of devoted fans that won't do that and probably still are Glee watchers.
Chris Colfer's UK book signing: further informationSo I just spoke to a lovely lady from the Waterstones where Chris Colfer is doing his UK book signing for about half an hour and she said that since the announcement people have been calling in to ask about it every 2 minutes!
She said that you may not need to purchase one of Chris’ books on the morning, you will probably be allowed to buy it before and bring your receipt as proof. She also said that they normally don’t do ticketing for these sorts of events but they’ve predicted that people will be queuing overnight, even though the store doesn’t even open until 11am because its a Sunday and so later on they may introduce a ticketing system.
They usually have a representative who comes along in the morning and will give the people queuing labels with a number on so that people can leave their queue and come back and still have their place so people don’t have to wait there all day.
Hope that’s been helpful information

Re: The Land of Stories Main Thread
a little math here: if you start to get in line from 11pm the night before and become the first one to see chris (assume he will start signing at 11am for argument's sake, you will have waited at least 12 hrs total. you may get a few hrs off in the morning but it would only be a minor relief. now assume the whole signing will last 3 hrs, because each person would have spent only a minute or less on average w/ chris, the line will move pretty fast. you can then come really late - say 2pm and only wait for an hr to see him. you may be the last one to get signed, but you will still get his signature, and maybe being the last one, you get to chat w him a little longer.
so you should find out the exact time of the signing and arive at the store no earlier than that time. that way your total wait time will be much less and there's no losing sleep overnight. i am pretty sure everybody will be able to get their books signed. it's not like going to a theater w/o signed seats so that you have to be early to get a good spot.

That's wonderful news, especially the bit about people calling every two minutes to ask the bookstore about Chris. It's nice to know interest is still so high. He deserves it.

Every time I listen to the audio book, I always giggle like an idiot. He sounds like Julie Andrews when he's doing that accent.

Love to see how the book has been translated into many languages but is sad there's not a spanish version (yet) .
Re: The Land of Stories Main Thread

but given that glee is unfamiliar here except in teen magazines, i'm not surprised.
the only colfer that keeps popping up on my weekly searches is eoin colfer.

I must say...to all non native English speakers here, your English is amazing!!! I cannot even speak one other language (well, a tiniest bit of French and some ASL, but nothing fluent). Wow!
What I love about Chris is that he churns out products of substance...books and films. You're never going to see a fragrance or a clothing line (or, God forbid, a sex tape) from him.

I just use google translate, copy and paste.
I would love to see Chris do a clothing inspired by Kurt. That would be awesome!
Re: The Land of Stories Main Thread
Oh...problem solved!
Haha! I think he wants to distance himself from the role he plays as much as possible.

Now, now. I think he wants to distance himself from Glee, but he's stated on multiple occasions that Kurt is very special to him.
Re: The Land of Stories Main Thread
Yes, but he has stated multiple times that he is very different from Kurt. He doesn't want anyone thinking he is playing himself or that, God forbid, he and Kurt are "the same person". He finds it strange how many fans are disappointed to find that he isn't Kurt in real life.

You're right about that, and I was joking honestly. I don't think I could see Chris starting a fashion line.
Re: The Land of Stories Main Thread
If he did, it would probably follow is own adorable quirks...his love for magic, fantasy and royalty. Oh, and ninja stuff.

Sorry to heard that.
And I was thinking that could be the reason why haven't been translated into spanish. But then I remember that Chris went to Spain some years ago to promote Glee, so he's not an unknown person over there. And usually books from Spain get to Latinamerica.

Thanks girl. And you know, if you wanna improve your french, is only practice. Btw I had to google what's ASL.
Re: The Land of Stories Main Thread
^ ASL is American Sign Language.
