Re: Chris in Hot In Cleveland
Had to wait until morning to watch the episode (because I have to wake up Gods awful early and I didn't sleep great the night before) and I was surprised at home much I enjoyed the episode. I'm not a huge fan of the show (ok, this was the first episode I ever saw and I had to go to Wikipedia to see who all the characters are) but I was very much amused. The setup was funny, with a neat little spin on stereotypes usually being wrong and not every mildly effeminate man is gay and the genuine disappointment by his mother that Tony wasn't gay (the language nearly the same as you would hear from a mother struggling to accept her son's homosexuality).
Chris had great chemistry with all the actors and I loved his scene with Betty White - the two of them are a riot together. It was nice to see Chris not just playing another character, but playing a straight character and proving that his sexuality isn't going to limit the kind of roles he can play. The awkward almost-kiss between Tony and Justin was hysterical (with Justin's insistence that the go through with it so he could get his Porche).
Doubt that I'll watch the show again unless "Tony" makes a return and going by the response that I've seen, that's more than likely.

I have watched the episode, and though I'm not planning to keep following the show I've to admit that I laughed a lot, and Chris was perfect. As was mentioned in another post, he had chemistry with everyone. And was amusing to see the mom's reaction when found out the truth; she genuinely was disappointed his son likes women, I felt like it were an alternative universe
Hopefully they bring back Chris to the show. Crossing my fingers for that

Re: Chris in Hot In Cleveland
It was also nice to see how enthusiastic the cast and crew seemed to be to have Chris on the show. From the executive producer gushing how he wants Chris back to the way Wendy, Betty and company went on and on with about Chris...
What a happy "coincidence" that Chris had such great chemistry with Wendy and the rest... There's an ease that Chris has on screen, a "star" quality that you just either have or you don't. Your eyes gravitate towards him.

Aww, it was really good! There were only a couple of cringey moments in the script. It was definitely making fun, as it were, of his mother rather than "hahahah gay is so funny!" so that was a relief.
Chris has excellent timing, he definitely has star power and he looked gorgeous.

The dialogue was a bit cringe worthy indeed, but in general I haven't watched a sitcom since 3rd Rock from the Sun and Will&Grace, so not really my cup of tea really.
Tthe Porsche almost kiss was hilarious and Chris made wonderful anquished and shocked faces when Tony's mom bought the cake topper.
Definately a nice snack for us fans.

Re: Chris in Hot In Cleveland
Sitcoms like these are not my cup of tea, but I loved Chris in 'Hot in Cleveland'. His timing was perfect, he was charming, he and the other actors worked well off of each other, and his acting had the exact right OTT reactions needed for a show like this.
And Chris indeed looked hot and gorgeous as hell the entire episode.
The storyline could potentially have been a disaster (when taken too seriously), and I did cringe a few times (although I think those moments were meant to make me cringe), but the confusing of the characters and their awkwardness was fun to watch, and I laughed out loud quite a few times (Tony headdesking after his mom had showed him the caketopper, the eww attempt to kiss and his partner's "I can change!" reaction when Tony called the engagement of, lol).
I liked the reversed/upside down 'coming out' talk between mom and son (not very subtle, but it got the message across), and how his mom accused her friend of being homophobic when she didn't want to toast the couple.
I think the chance of Chris repeating this role is quite big, as everyone involved seems to love having him there: cast, crew and audience.
And Chris possibly in Grimm........ bring it on.

The nice thing about the HIC gig is that it leaves things open for potentially more guest starring. Coming on as Wendy's son is as big a window to reappear on the show as anything.

I'm with you, there's so much potential. I already imagine an episode, or two, in which Tony introduces his girlfriend, or his sisters also come along. Yeah I'm over the top

I can see Tony introducing his girlfriend to his mum.
But who do you think they should cast?

Umm I don't know Sarah Hyland, she already worked with Chris and for me they have chemistry. I need to see a list of young actresses and think in more options
edit: I just remember Sarah already was on HIT
Re: Chris in Hot In Cleveland
i just saw HIC. Chris was excellent. Funny, engaging, natural,... Just the right amount of camp when he was playing gay Tony for his mom, sorry "sister" and he had really nice onscreen chemistry with everyone, from betty, his mom actress to his "partner". and to repeat his partners position, i'd gay marry for a Porsche myself to be honest.

Re: Chris in Hot In Cleveland
The thing about good actors is that it's just not all about the external ticks and mannerisms, it's how they conceive and convey what's right for the character. HIC is not Shakespeare, nor Pinter, but it doesn't need to be. It was a guest starring appearance and Chris needed to establish his presence quickly and efficiently. It's a TV comedy sitcom and Chris blended in nicely with the cast, not overplaying the comedy nor condescending either and having good chemistry within the scenes he was in. Sitcom comedy isn't easy to do in that if something is off you realize that right away.
There is a confidence and ease when he's on screen that's comfortable to watch.
Loved that the executive producer revealed he's been after Chris for a time, becasue it shows that other show runners value what a gifted performer he is, so there will be more offers, be it television, movies or stage.

I sincerely was expecting something longer, but still I love when Sam said "he's practically running the show" ... yeah I wish.
Re: Chris in Hot In Cleveland
ok i was shocked that it was over so soon then i realized that the whole episode is 2 minutes and 22 seconds. minus the title and credits and you get about a minute and half. TOO FXXKING SHORT!
