Re: Chris in the UK
Not so much of Chris talking, but those song choices! I actually squeed a little when Dolly Parton came up. Nine to Five is a very personal favorite.
I love how quirky and pleasantly dated he comes out in this one. My heart-eyes could not be bigger right now. <3

Re: Chris in the UK
^So have I!
LMAO: 'You're so Vain'. I sang that song loudly with my hubby and kids in the car just a few days ago: it's a perfectly written song (although I doubt Chris chose it for the reason we're laughing about it, lol).
And also 'Voulez-Vous', 'Defying Gravity', '9 to 5', 'Heard It Through The Grapevine' and 'Candle in the Wind', which are all part of my favorites!
His music choices are so diverse.
And lol: I always wanted to have a good long talk with Dolly Parton, as I think she's got a lot of wise things to say. I even visited Dollywood once (I even drove a couple of hours over the mountains for it)!

Don't crush my thoughts!
Re: Chris in the UK
"You're So Vain" is so Chris. It's just dripping with deadpan sarcasm. I've always loved that song. I did not expect "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" at all....I freaking love that song!! Chris is a white boy with soul!
Ah, "Candle in the Wind"....that song just takes on a new purpose now....

I wouldn't dare! It's hilarious, if true.Jellyrolls wrote:Don't crush my thoughts!
And Karen: how do you feel about Chris choosing an ABBA song?
(Probably the same way I feel about him choosing a Kylie Minogue song, lol.)
I thought about that too.MoviesAreLife wrote:Ah, "Candle in the Wind"....that song just takes on a new purpose now....
I actually hope they don't sing that song for Cory's memorial episode. Not after Elton John did it so perfectly for Princess Di.

finn is not a weakling and a candle in the wind. he's an unsung hero. i hope they give him a hero's send-off. so that EJ song isn't appropriate, although i do love the song.

Re: Chris in the UK
Actually, "Candle in the Wind" has been dedicated to many people (public figures) who have died young, mostly by Elton John. He wrote it about Marilyn but sang it to Dianna, Ryan White....and others, I'm sure. Did he sing it to MJ? I can't remember. Anyway, it's beautiful and sad....but it's the cliché "goodbye, *insert celeb name here* song"....
You know a perfect song for Cory's (not Finn, but Cory) situation? "Arms of an Angel". Listen to the lyrics....it's creepy.

To answer your question/post:
1. If you look at the lyrics, to "You're So Vain" so many of them fit Blaine. It's brilliant, really.
2. I had to turn down the sound on that one (although I wouldn't have realized it was an abba song if I didn't see the song list first.
3. Candle In the Wind would not be an appropriate song for the Finn/Cory memorial episode. The lyrics for either version of it don't fit, and they should rewrite it to make it fit.

I love have loved "You're So Vain" ever since it came out. For those of you too young to know about it - it was originally written about Warren Beatty. And if you listen closely - you can hear Carly's back up singer: Mick Jagger.

^Yes, I remember that. You can just see Warren Beaty walking into the room when she sings that.
"In this cold dark hotel room....."
(I once sang it at a wedding ceremony, to remember the mother of the bride by, who died in a car crash not long before the wedding.)
I thought about that song too, it's eerily perfect for Cory. linkMoviesAreLife wrote:You know a perfect song for Cory's (not Finn, but Cory) situation? "Arms of an Angel". Listen to the lyrics....it's creepy.

Considering the song is about a heroin OD, I find it strange how it has become the anthem of abused animals in America thanks to those infamous commercials....

The interview was exactly what I needed, I really missed hearing Chris and this was such a posititive nice interview. I liked how diverse were his song choices.
Also I realize that forgot to comment how much I loved his Harry Potter essay.

Same here, this was exactly what I needed to cheer me up. Such a cute interview, and it's great to hear his voice again.
