leather isn't elastic. these are synthetic that can skin tight (like lycra). all super heros wear lycra, so they can better show off their exagerated muscles/curves since comics are always drawn that way.
thank god they didn't stuff 2 soccer balls into her bras.

Re: TV Series you want to discuss, it's here
I am now a total Hannible fan! Can't wait for season 3 to start.
I worried about the blood and gore factor, but who was I kidding! This is broadcast network and the degree of grossness is mild at least by my standard. If you have watched some cable shows this is like fully clothed porn. It's also not a horror show. It maybe called "psychological thriller" but the "thrill" part is mostly psychological.
I stayed away from this series for long because I envisioned it to be more of a slasher type of thing, and I was very wrong. I think a lot of people especially women stayed away from it because they thought they would be turned off by the subject matter or visuals. Only if they could give the show a chance by watching the first few episodes. The first episode alone may not draw you in. The second season of the show is even better than the first.
Compare it w/ AHS, I have to stay that although it's like comparing apples with oranges, Hannible is so much better written, crafted and threaded together. I had trouble stay watching AHS, because Ryan Murphy always wander off and drag the story for apparently no clear purpose.
So, if you are like me, who have been staying away from Hannible because of its "genre" and image/impression, don't be afraid. It's a awfully good show that gets better as time goes on.
The only downside is that Hannible is available on Amazon Prime and Hulu+, but not on Netflix.

told you it was en epic show. beautifully shot, very stylized, great use of visual metaphors and themes, great villain/hero and a great cast in general and i love the way fuller is adapting the hannibal story to the small screen and to today.

Re: TV Series you want to discuss, it's here
^ according to IMDB he has only 6 episodes, but that's perfectly fine w/ me. I am just glad to see him on this show at all.
i have never read the books. The opening credits of the show says it's based on "Red Dragon". does that book provide all the material for all these episodes? I heard the author wrote 4 books about the character Hannible Lector. One of them is Silence of the Lamb. I saw that movie, but not the Red Dragon movie. I am not sure how the show corresponds to any of these books.

Re: TV Series you want to discuss, it's here
the are 4 novels.
red dragon - written first, second in timeline wise, hannibal has already been captured with will's help and they are trying to catch the tooth fairy. basically, the second part of this season should be this book, more or less.
silence of the lambs - written second, third in the timeline, lecter is still in the mental hospital, first appearance of clarice sterling, catching buffalo bill (as of yet unknown whether or not they will get permeation to use her character or will have to make a proxy)
hannibal - written third, forth timeline wise, lector has been out for 10 or so years, sterling has been trying to catch him, has a very controversial ending
hannibal rising - written last, it's a flashback book about how hannibal developed his cannibalistic fixations, people don't like it because it gives him a somewhat simpatetic background and explains the origin of his psychopathy. if they touch on this book it will be heavily edited as it's set during WW2 and in the fifies/sixties of 20th century

Re: TV Series you want to discuss, it's here
thank you so much for the info! I am not going to read the books until after all is over. For me reading books first always ruin my show watching experience. ALWAYS. so i am staying away from all the spoilers. one thing is already spoiled for me of course - that Hannible would be caught eventually. I really hate this creature so knowing he would be caught later gave me some peace of mind. At the end of both seasons, it seemed that
Why doesn't the book continue w/ Will Graham and introduces Clarice instead?
- Spoiler:
- good guys would never win.

i'm not sure, but i think will has just had enough of lecter as he tries to kill him and his family from prison using the tooth fairy in the climax of red dragon. also, will by that point knows lecter pretty well, and with clarice we get the inside info from a novice and someone who has only read about lecter.

Re: TV Series you want to discuss, it's here
so, there was a MASSIVE leak last night and all those who can't wait week for week can watch the first 4 episodes (i keep reading 6, but have only found 4 so far) of GAME OF THRONES.
someone is gonna get fired and/or sued, if this wasn't a revenge thing for the same thing.

Re: TV Series you want to discuss, it's here
^I read about it on a Dutch newssite: apparently 4 episodes were leaked.
They say the episodes are of bad quality with a watermark in them, but anyone who can't wait for a few weeks can now see them.
Wow, this is a very deliberate act to hurt the show, and it most likely was an inside job.
Heads are going to roll if they find whoever did it.
(Btw, I don't watch GoT, but I know it's one of the most popular shows of the moment.)

Orphan Black is back and i watched one episode and completely lost as to who is what and what's going on. I think my brain is too simple for this show. Will pass on and try something else.

Meanwhile, i finished Grimm and I think it's a fine season especially toward the end. Waiting for the news of Chris being on it in some capacity in the next season.
I am certainly not complaining that

- Spoiler:
- Julia is dead. I never liked her. Her sudden turn to evil was a bit too unbelievable but at least she had a good ending, in my opinion.

Haven't seen this season, yet, but I guess having too many clones is confusing lol
Oh, anybody here is watching Game of Thrones's season 5? Is it good?
Re: TV Series you want to discuss, it's here
^ yes yes! goodie goodie! love it so far. I heard they are getting away from the books now, since there's no telling when and if the author would complete the series. meanwhile the tv show can't wait, so hell knows what will happen. anybody can die. so far some have already died. yoohooo! (not to celebrate death of course). watch it. it's great as usual.

Re: TV Series you want to discuss, it's here
it's a dramatization of the real life story of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, who very pioneers of the sexual revolution and sexology as a discipline. They condacted a secret sex study for about 10 years in the laste '50's and then published 2 books in the late '60 that changed the way people looked at sex and it deconstructed many taboos and falsehoods about women and sex in particular, as well basically invented the therms such as sexual dysfunction.
he was a very well respected gynecologist in saint louis, and she was initially his secretary, then his research assistant and finally full blown partner. and their personal life is rather juicy, as they had secret affair/participation in their own sex study for about 14 years, before he divorced his wife and married her (their own marriage ended some 20 years after that, in his 70's and her 60's). they invented sex therapy and practical cures for impotency and such that is still used today, and also had some rather controversial attempts in homosexual conversion therapy that were a complete fail.
all in all, very interesting people with an extremely complicated interpersonal relationship. it''s to complicated to go detail, not to mention rather touchy subject because nobody really knew what was happening between them and the only account is from johnson pow in a biography "masters of sex" (which is the basis of the show) when she was in her late 80's, and after being dumped by masters after 36 years together. because reading the book from her account and then from others, i would say that the words bitter and revisionist history did come to my mind. either way, what ever the truth, they sure were an interesting pair.
it stars micheal sheen as masters and lizzy caplan as johnson. it's a period drama on showtime. the show is pretty racy though, lots of sex, in and out of the lab. but no violence, so for those who prefer love over war, this is the show for you.

It's about f**** time!!
Tatiana Maslany for best actress in a drama series, "Orphan Black". I thought it was her best work yet, and that is saying something.

SO damn agree. She totally deserves it
Btw, I've finished Season 3 of Orphan Black, and thought the first one is still the best for me and the one that made me feel in love with this series, with S3 the sparks is back again. And can't wait for what is coming.
OH also I've finished GOT this week and this season was spectacular. GOSH that ending...can't wait for what is coming. I'm so damn excited!
