Has anyone ever watched Teen Wolf? It's on MTV and it's one of my favorite shows.

^ Great! I'm only watching the 1st season but it's really interesting and keep you watching because you'll wanna know what's gonna happen next. I also felt that way when I was watching True Blood, which is also a show of HBO. Khaleesi (the spelling of her name is so damn hard to remember ) is really a compelling and admirable character, right? At first, I thought she was just a poor pretty girl who was forced to marry a tough guy that she doesn't like but her transformation after the marriage kinda blew me away And I find Tyrion Lannister a very quotable character He's not really honorable but he does know how to utilize his strength despite being born as a dwarf.
Oh, how I wish Chris will be casted in a HBO series one day...

Oh, it's really a great serie! I watched both seasons, both fantastic. I read that the TVshow for some things didn't follow exactly the books, so I was thinking about reading them, I'm really curious!BlueJazz wrote:^ Great! I find that all the women in GOT are really strong characters (except Sansa, but probably because I don't like her, even if she sure went through a lot), and Daenerys is absolutely one of them, her driven streght si to admire. But my favourite is Arya. Such a great personality!

About True Blood, I watched only the first episode, and is not really my genre...
What other series are on HBO?

Tyrion is my favorite character on Game of Thrones! I love him. He's not a flawless or overall nice person, but he does have several kind or honorable moments alongside his clever schemes and treacheries, and I find that really fascinating and interesting about his character. He's definitely the character I root for the most. I also like Khaleesi, Arya, Sansa, and despite her evilness I like Cersei too.
But one of the best things about watching Game of Thrones is just admiring all the landscapes and the great costume designs and so on. It's really enjoyable visually. The music is really great too, and all of the actors are fantastic.
If I wasn't afraid Chris's character would be brutally murdered, as is incredibly likely on GoT, I'd want him to play a character in it.

Re: TV Series you want to discuss, it's here
^ Well, I don't want to see Chris' character get killed in the show either but I'm more looking forward to the "CC sex riot " on tumblr and forums after every ep that he shows some skin (in bed with a lady/man)
My favorite characters on GOT are: Khaleesi, Arya and Tyrion. I don't like/hate Cersei but I find the love between her and her Jaime (her blood-related brother ) kinda weird (I'm not into the idea of incest) but touching.
Yup, the landscapes, costumes and building are really amazing the filming must have costed a lot. Was anyone surprises to see homosexuality in this series? I was quite shocked when I saw the um...pre-coitus/foreplay scene between Renly and Ser Loras for the first time. I think that single scene kinda beats all the gay couples kissing scenes in Glee

^Mh, honestly, I was not so surprised. --And hey, by a telefilm that makes me watch SPOILER a still living man getting a pot of molten gold overthrow on his head, I don't expect and I don't want 'soft' scenes, heh.
About the comparison with Glee, mah, it's not really fair, they are deeply different show in every way possible. But, well, sure it doesn't take too much effort to do a better job than Glee does.
And I agree, the all cast is really good; it's fantastic how well-chosen everyone are for their role.

^ Oh, I wasn't surprised by the nudity in the pre-coitus scene, I was surprised by the existence of romance between 2 men in the series since that scene was the first scene that explicitly shows homosexuality in the story (if i'm not mistaken).
I know it's not fair to compare Glee and GOT but I can't help myself because Glee has done a poor job showing affection between gay couples in S3.
Another thing that I found enjoyable on the show:
The handwriting. Isn't it gorgeous ? How I wish I can write like them...

^It is! It recalls somehow the arabiac writing, with all those elegant letters.
Uhhh, I wish I can write so well too! My calligraphy seems like the one that a boy in elementary school would have.
Glee has done a poor job at everything this season.

I noticed that you used "mah" in a sentence to show that you're pausing to think before continuing it. I know Japanese do that in their conversation because I'm a Japanese drama fan so I have to ask: Are you a Japanese?

^Uh no, I'm not Japanese. I'm Italian. Mhh, maybe since I used to watch anime/read manga, the 'mah' is a thing that unconsciously stayed with me since then, haha.
Don't know, I used it more as a 'not sure' expression.

^ Haha, I totally understand your behavior. I'm Japanese series lover and I watch animes sometimes so I'm quite familiar and in love with the language. Sometimes, I just speak certain short sentences in Japanese with my family because I feel like doing it even though they don't understand a word of it
I wish I have a friend who's good in Japanese so I'll have more opportunities to speak the lovely language in my life

I have no idea from what series is this picture but I love that hand-writing. I would like to learn to write like that, but I guess you need a special pencil.
And BlueJazz, I've heard that "mah" in japanese interview as well but I don't know what it means. I only can introduce myself in japanese, is something like "watashi wa Romina desu" lol
Re: TV Series you want to discuss, it's here
So, lately I've been watching Breaking Bad. (Actually, I just marathoned its first 4 seasons over the past month, a few episodes at a time, because I am officially obsessed and in love with it ). Has anyone else seen it?

^No, I've only heard of it. How is it?
Instead I watched the first and, unfortunately, only season of Firefly. Such a fantastic show. ):
OH! And btw, since the serie was cancelled prematurely by FOX (bleaaah) and the creators wanted to give at the story a proper ending, they have done a movie (Serenity) as the sequel; aaand, in the first minutes, you don't know who was there: Michael Hitchcock, one of the Glee writers, who is also an actor. Even when I don't want to think about anything Glee-related, there is it!
But well, I find all the languages beautiful in some way. If I could have a super power I'd like to talk all the languages in the world, haha.

Totally! Is a beautiful language, but is very difficult (I have a friend who applied for 'Oriental languages' at university, and she went crazy).BlueJazz wrote:I wish I have a friend who's good in Japanese so I'll have more opportunities to speak the lovely language in my life

Emile wrote:^No, I've only heard of it. How is it?
In my opinion, it's fantastic. Love love love it. It's a dark and well-written huge breath of fresh air after Glee.
It's about a high school chemistry teacher, Walter White, who is diagnosed with cancer. He doesn't have enough money to pay for the cancer treatments, so he becomes a drug dealer, cooking meth under the nose of not only his family - who he desperately tries to keep it secret from - but also his brother-in-law, whom is a DEA agent. But Walt's knowledge as a chemist leads him to creating particularly pure and high quality meth, which gets the attention of the drug cartels in Mexico, and the story spirals on from there.
But it's really really good, I can't recommend it enough. Great plot twists, I was definitely surprised several times, especially the 4th season finale. There's a lot of neat, deep thematic questions in the show that center around morality and consequences, such as whether doing horrible things for good reasons makes you a horrible person yourself, ideas like that. It also does a great job of introducing no wasted characters. Pretty much every named character (with at least several minutes of screentime) moves the story along in a really big way, even if it doesn't come to fruition until a season or so later; suddenly a face you thought was gone pops in again to make huge waves, and I love that. The character dynamics between Walt, his family, and his partner-in-crime Jesse are all fantastic. The only downside to the show is I felt the first season moves really slowly, and that it's not nearly as exciting or engaging as the following seasons, but it's probably because a lot of the first season is set up for events that happen later.
But yeah, it's great, if you love dramas and compelling, complex characters you should give it a try.

I think this explains why I quit the show after watching a few eps of 1st season I watched it some time ago because of the good reviews and interesting plot. I was baffled why I didn't enjoy it while watching the 1st few eps I guess now I know the reason why
And I have the similar feeling for Mad Men and also quit it after 1st few eps. I was interested when I knew it's about an advertising company (I like drama revolving around workplace and interested in advertising ) but was disappointed when I found out it's more about the life of a main character who cheats on his wife but also very successful without working hard. No offense to any Mad Men fans here but I just don't really like the guy. Anyone watched it before?

Re: TV Series you want to discuss, it's here
I have watched a few MM episodes (will watch the whole thing eventually, as well as Breaking Bad). It's an interesting drama but very misogynistic, which is indicative of the time period I guess. In the 60's, business as well as pretty much every other aspect of society was very "boys club". In that respect, the portrayal of society and overwhelming actions in show is rather true. I remember watching an episode where they were trying to find the way to advertise vibrators. It was hilarious but also very indicative of the general feeling towards woman and men's lack of understanding of them. I loved it that Peggy wrote that advert. Also another episode I remember was when they were looking for an adequate way to marketise Polaroid projectors I think- and the way Don chose to put picture of his wife and kids and sell it as not a pure new technology product but as a type of time machine, the means to preserve memories and relive them.
As for Don - he is one of the representations of the working professional of the time. An alcoholic, arrogant, unfaithful and an opportunist. He is the anti-hero. I find it most of the time that the anti-hero makes a much more interesting lead character then a full out "boy scout". They are far more interesting and their motivation far more complicated an murky.

Re: TV Series you want to discuss, it's here
^I know Don is an anti-hero but I just find him unlikable, unlike some other anti-hero that I've liked. I guess MM isn't a show for me, then, since I just can't get its beauty (unlike the media)
I've finally finished watching GOT s2 and I LOVE the finale and the ending White Walkers are really scary, though...
First reaction after the finale:
WHAT A GREAT SHOW
But when i recall I won't be able to watch S3 until next year
I NEED S3 RIGHT NOW, HBO!!!
