Am a little anxious, because I'm going right from work and should get to the book store by 1pm. Problem is that there are people who are saying that they're going to get to the store in the very early morning in order to secure their spots on line. I can't get out of work any earlier so I just hope I don't arrive so late and get shut out.
Wish me luck everyone!
Good Luck , but you can't ask your boss if you could get out a little bit ealier, just a little bit? Or sadly he already said no?

Unfortunately I'm covering for someone this morning so I can't leave until she arrives. Am just keeping my fingers crossed....

Re: The Land of Stories 3 : Book Tour 2014
I'm heading over to the bookstore near me where he is signing on Thursday tonight after work. They are giving out wristbands today when you buy the book. Hopefully, I'll get there in time to get one. I can't go over until tonight because I don't want to miss a day of work to get the wristband.

Made it to the store and have my copy. Lots of people here but I've got a good seat. Now comes the long wait.

I've got my laptop, my phone and my Kindle, so I should have plenty to keep me distracted.
Only five and a half hours to go!

What? Oh ranwing you really came early hope you also brought some food and drinks, no drinks is not a good idea if you need the bathroom. Don't lose your seat.

Fortunately they're letting us in an out of the waiting area so we're not trapped there. Was able to hit the little wench's room, get a bottle of water and am trying to get comfortable.
They just handed out papers to us to write questions for Chris - they'll pick the best ones for him to answer. This was my question:

If tomorrow you could accomplish any of your career goals - writing, acting, etc. - what would you want to do?

The crowd here is insane. The area for the signing is filled to capacity and the overflow was moved to the next floor down. Access Hollywood did a quick filming of the crowd.
Twenty minutes to go.

Re: The Land of Stories 3 : Book Tour 2014
Well, I got my wristband for Thursday's signing in Burlington, MA. I'm going to meet up with a couple of people from p_f so I have line buddies. I got the last wrist band in the first color, so I should be in the first group to go in.
ETA: They told me that Chris is on a very limited time in Burlington because he has to catch a flight, so they are really going to be rushing people through the line.

Re: The Land of Stories 3 : Book Tour 2014
Just got home. Here is my report.
First of all, Chris has got to be one of the most charming, clever, fun loving person that I've ever seen. There is just nothing fake or phony about him. He seemed as genuinely happy to see us as we were to see him. When he arrived, the applause was petty deafening - the crowd was so large that we completely filled the first and second seating areas. There were more people waiting on line on the 2 floors below us so if we're going just by numbers, the first signing was a roaring success.
Chris arrived and the first thing was to reveal the winners of TLOS fanart contest and there were some really lovely pieces that were selected. He then talked about how amazing all the art was and what was picked was just the tip of the iceberg. The second thing he did was take a selfie with the crowd. Sadly I was too far back (and to the left) to fit in. But that set the tone for the evening.
The next part of the festivities was the Q&A and sadly my question wasn't picked but there were some interesting ones that did reveal a few possible and interesting prospects. He is open to doing TLOS as a graphic novel and is now more open to possibly having TLOS made into a motion picture. He explained why he was somewhat resistant to the idea previously (because he wants the books to stand on their own) and how it was a real challenge for him to be taken seriously as a writer. He was asked what Broadway part he would be interested in playing and after a lot of hmming and hawing, decided that Gabe from Next to Normal would be an interesting part to play. He then read a selection from the new book (doing all the voices, which was an absolute scream).
Then it came time for the signing and I'll give the B&N staff credit with how smoothly they handed the huge number of people. We went up in rows so that there wasn't a mad rush to the where Chris was sitting and everyone had their books ready. About twenty minutes after it started, it was my turn and there I was... face to face with one Mr. Christopher Paul Colfer. I thanked him for doing the signing and he thanked me for coming. I asked him how Brian handled him traveling so much (not well) and I told him how my cat sulks when I travel. We then shook hands it was over.
Now the fangirl in me is going to have a major squee - I TOUCHED CHRIS COLFER!!!!! And he is as gorgeous in real life as he is on tv. I've got all three TLOS books autographed and while I'm very tired, I'm very happy. The only downside is that I didn't get too many decent pictures (my phone was starting to die and I was just a hair too far back to really get any close-ups). It was an evening well spent.

Thanks for the account Wendy and the pic.
I think this will stop the fans on tumblr from worrying like they were a few days ago.
Chris's fandom is growing because of these books and will even more after his other projects, Noel, Robodog and maybe HIC.
