Re: Land of Stories 4
There is a customs strike all over Australia which means I cannot get my book and probably won't get any copy of the book.
The strike started June 30 and looks like it could go on for months.
I looked on one book site and the book will come out there 3rd August next month.

Re: Land of Stories 4
My lovely best friend/housemate just bought the ebook for me, so now I can read it.
I have to do it on his Ipad, but this was so nice of him to do.
He has to wait for two parcels from overseas that are also in custom and I wish I could get them for him.

^Amazon.
(And this is while Amazon still maintains their policy in delaying delivering books from certain publishing companies, plus when both Barnes&Noble and Target have special editions!)

usatodayChris Colfer's new book lands in top 10

Here's a look at what's new on USA TODAY's Best-Selling Books list…
King of 'Kingdoms': Chris Colfer has plenty to be gleeful about when it comes to his writing career. His The Land of Stories: Beyond the Kingdoms (Little, Brown) lands at No. 10, his highest debut. (The full list will publish on Thursday.)
Beyond the Kingdoms is the fourth book in a series for young readers about twins who have magical encounters with the fairy-tale characters they've read about. In the new book, Alex and Conner Bailey pursue a "Masked Man" with help from Goldilocks, Red Riding Hood and Mother Goose.
The series' previous peak was No. 29 with book three, A Grimm Warning, last summer.
Colfer, 25, who played Kurt Hummel on Glee, is on a multi-city book tour that ends July 18 in Los Angeles. In a recent interview with the Phoenix New Times, he said, "I did nothing but watch TV and movies when I was a kid, and I think it's really what made me a good storyteller."

He has a busy fall ahead as a storyteller, too. The Curvy Tree, a debut picture book, arrives on Oct. 27 from Little, Brown. It's based on an original fairy tale of the same name from The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell.
And on Nov. 24, Adventures from the Land of Stories Boxed Set: The Mother Goose Diaries and Queen Red Riding Hood's Guide to Royalty will be published, containing two new books.

Unlike the NYT best seller list, the USA Today list doesn't separate by genre, IOW, "Beyond the Kingdom" lands in #10 slot of ALL the books out there in the market.

Someone posted the bonus chapter from Barnes & Noble. For those who weren't able to get it: it's behind the spoiler bar, although I have to warn you it's quite blurry.

Re: Land of Stories 4
- Spoiler:
- I am a bit disappointed that the book is not a complete story like previous books. Although book 3 has a cliff hanger at least the battle is done. book 4 is definitely part 1 of the story. That means i have to wait a whole year to find out what happens to the story.
I hope book 5 will not come out next summer. i hope it will come out next month. i can't wait that long.
On the other hand i'd rather he divide the story into 2 books rather than cram everything into one. the story is getting more interesting now w/ that Morina witch in the mix.
also a question, how can that German boy be the son of TMM? Wasn't the TMM in the jail for the last 10 yrs or so? did that miss something or do I suffer from dementia?

Re: Land of Stories 4
Just finished the book. Interesting and yes, leaving that cliffhanger was mean of him.
- Spoiler:
- There were several chapters in the book that were very dark, I did shake my head when I thought about those dead bodies flowtingin the Dead Creek and what the Fairy Mother did to her son. These are serious fairytale twists, it's actually nicely teetering on the edge of what would be too violent for children. I will never stop wanting for Chris to write for adults based solely on the stuff he gets to infiltrate to these kids books.
And why couldn't Arthur follow Alex? Everyone else, from EVERY SINGLE OTHER STORY DID! You can kinda see I got frustrated about that. I thought he'd sneak up after Alex from somewhere. And there was not enough of Jack and Goldilocks. I get that she got a lot of the storyline already in the previous books, but just because someone is pregnant doesn't stop them alltogether. Tut, tut Chris!
