My cat was my baby too, I really miss my MooGoo, the little (well 14 pound) devil. Funny how they worm their way into your heart.

Throw me in with the rest of you. I haven't a maternal bone in my body, unless something is small and fuzzy, then I am totally protective. My kitties are my babies, I've had two pets that turned out to be very bad pets, peeing on everything and not very nice, but once they were mine, I stuck with them until they died. I never liked anyone who would get rid of their critters because they were inconvenienced. To me when you adopt, it is a promise.

That was the case with my cat, he was neglected and semi abused and when he turned into a wild thing no one would have him. At 6 months I took him in (he belonged to a relative and I was furious with the way they treated him) and he was a little nasty aggressive prick at first. I worked with him and he eventually settled down into a good affectionate cat (well to me at least). Sometimes the asshole characteristics came out, but mostly he liked to snuggle in my lap while I watched television or worked on the computer.
He never peed or pooped where he shouldn't, but he did chew the tips off my bamboo or wooden knitting needles. Sigh. He was a good cat. Oh yeah, he did attack a visitor one time, but he was provoked, OK, he shouldn't have done that, but like I said he was roughly treated and when he was younger he reacted more strongly.

Re: Chris Colfer Instagram
Cats are remarkable animals to have around because you do have to be flexible and accept them on their terms more than you do a dog (who wants to please you). We have to accommodate them to a large degree. But what we get in return can be really remarkable.
Freebee used to love to rest on my chest while I was working at the computer. I'd be leaning back in my office chair and she would be happy to settle there for hours while I tried to work (one handed). I had to have abdominal surgery to remove my gallbladder and I was concerned that she would try to climb up on me as usual. Instead, she just hopped up onto my lap and settled there and didn't try to get to her usual spot on me. And she didn't try until several weeks later when I was well healed. Years earlier, when I had broken my ankle and was in a pretty precarious state, she never got in my way while I was hobbling about on my crutches and spent every night sleeping next to me so she could make sure that I was okay.
I agree that adopting an animal forms a much different relationship than purchasing one does. It's a different commitment and you have a different mentality about your relationship. You're more willing to put up with the problems (like Luna destroying my living room furniture before we smarted up and got the additional scratching posts) because you know what the alternative is. Every pet that I've ever had spent their entire lives with me and even though I have to deal with the pain of losing them at some point, that pain is worth knowing that my pets have all left this world knowing that they were loved and cherished every single day.

Re: Chris Colfer Instagram
the other day i was talking to a friend who spent over $60,000 on his dog's cancer treatment. the dog still lives and he says he had no regrets (he's also rich so that helps). so we were talking about the special attachment we have w/ our animals, and i thought that we love them because not only do they love us back, but they pass no judgments. they love us regardless of our physical attractiveness. they love us when we wake up in the morning w/ bad breath and never complain. they love us no matter how poor we are so long as we can still feed them. they love us when nobody loves us, and they never scold us, shame us or compare us to other more successful people. love is such a powerful thing when it's so pure and innocent.
i once saw a tv news special about a kitten growing up in a prison's death row section. many of these death row inmates had rough lives and rarely loved anybody (or be loved), and the kitten changed everything. one guy said that now he regreted everything he did to others, and wish he could have a second chance. that little cat taught him how to love and care for another, and melted his stone-cold heart into a jelly. for this guy, it's all too late, but at least he learned how to love before his end of life.
ok enough sentimental things. got to make lunch for mama now.

I wonder how good is El Jimador? Make you feel really tipsy, or over the top?
Re: Chris Colfer Instagram
Tequila is like wine, there are so many varieities and types..aged more than several years even...
Some that are more "sipping" such as anejo, won't get you drunk per se, if you drink in moderate quantities as you would a good cognac or whiskey...You can even put those into a snifter as opposed to a shot glass,
My mind seems to recall that blanco is the the best for mixed drinks, while I suppose Reposado is best for straight shots..
Whatever you do, Brisallie, try to drink 100 % agave tequila, otherwise your body will tell you you made a mistake..
At Chris age, I guess it doesn't make that much of a difference..
Especially for margaritas...100 percent agave...POR FAVOR!!

I love such pictures, because it gives you rare insight into the 'real' life of Chris. Even though, he really looks a bit exhausted
