Re: Bistro on the corner
Oh, that sounds dangerous and terrifying. I'm sorry you even had to leave your own house to feel a bit safe.
Take good care of yourself and don't hesitate to call the police when you're in doubt if she is in your proximity and the situation might escalate near you and/or any children.

Meth users are the worst. Run, no just slowly walk away from them...always. You cannot just reason with them, especially when they get aggressive. Hopefully they get her away to a closed clinic/ward.

Re: Bistro on the corner
Police did come, but just gave her a warning.
Colin was wrong as Andrew said she held the screwdriver to her own throat.
She will lose the baby, which is for the best for now.
We went back there last night with Andrew and she and her boyfriend were quiet for the rest of the night.
Today as we were leaving the house we saw a suspicious car that we think has been there before.
We think he is her dealer.
She said she would get herself clean, but knowing meth, this is what is ruling her actions.
Colin is getting a lock on our bedrooms so we don't find any of out stuff missing.
Andrew, the girl's boyfriend mum, and the girl's boyfriend are going back to Andrew's house later tonight, and either threaten to take the kid and force her to go into rehab, or just take the kid if she refuses.
I could hear her in her room and she sounded high, singing and sounding happy.
So she has definitely taken something.
If she is aggressive again we will call the police again. This will be the second time. The third time they might arrest her.
I have Colin there with me, so I feel safe with him around.
I don't talk to her anymore and stay in my bedroom when she comes out of hers.
I am looking after the two six year old's again today. They are playing Minecraft, which hopefully doesn't turn into fighting again.
Right now they are having fun.

Stay safe! I hope she gets taken away for treatment and doesn't harm anyone. Like Marie said, don't hesitate to call the police if you feel the slightest possibility that things are escalating.

Liz, god bless you and your friends and the babies. I agree that Meth is absolutely horrible and i have read a lot of bad deeds that people did under its influence. they don't take care of themselves so most of them end up losing their teeth. most don't live long. that girl shouldn't be a mother in the first place.

@ColferInspired, I'm sorry to hear what happened to your friends. I send my blessings and hopefully everything gets better, and that girl seeks for helps.
Re: Bistro on the corner
Thanks everyone.
She is trying her best to still live there as she does not want to give up her free ride, paying for nothing.
If Andrew would make her pay her share of the rent and start paying bills, she could be pushed into accepting the next flat her boyfriend might get.
Andrew is too soft and won't do it, while she gets away with damaging his house, making holes in the walls when she goes off.
Her boyfriend gives her money, buys things for her and the baby, as he is the father of the kid.
He used to take meth, but now he doesn't and has a good job.
It is just frustrating.
She has other options, but she does not want to pay her way, so she won't leave.
I hate it when she says it is her house, like she owns it.
Like she did with the Ford Territory she was driving around in, when it was never her car. She says it is her car.
She doesn't have it now, as Andrew did something sneaky and took it a couple of nights ago without her knowing and is now acting like it is stolen.
If it was me I would have just taken the car and tell her it was never hers in the first place. Her boyfriend offered her a car and she refused. Andrew pays for the fuel, so again she was getting something else free as well.
Like it said it is extremely frustrating.
I would have also told her to accept the next flat or else, as she would have to pay for rent and bills anyway staying here with us.
Andrew needs to stop the free ride, and not let her get away with paying for nothing. I am sure she would be gone if that happened.
But it is his house, so I cannot do anything.
And she has some other guy that is driving her around now. I found that out last night when she came home after being out with her baby. She is not the type to use public transport, and she does not have a pram until later last night, when Colin and Andrew brought the pram back that was in the supposedly stolen car.

It is truly a carnage. It almost felt like a fifth division mens league, with dads in their 40's playing football for hobby, was playing against Germany.

What I saw today was so humiliating! For me this confirm Neymar was half of the team, or even more.
Re: Bistro on the corner
I cant believe argentina won! Yeah I was rooting for them, but I knew Netherlands was strong. Wow
Re: Bistro on the corner
^It was a good match imo.
Well, The Netherlands won 1 game by penalties, and now we lost one by penalties.
C'est la vie.
Actually I'm a bit relieved we lost, because next sunday we're staying at a German campingsite. With our Dutch plates on the car that could have been an intense evening for us if the finale had been The Netherlands vs. Germany.

So lucky you . But it would have been NED vs GER,you would have been cautious to not wear too much orange or being loudly, right?
Good luck on Saturday, though brazilians cant bear more suffering.

OUCH.
Argentines winning the World Cup in the Macarena would be Uruguay 1950 all over again.
Brazilians rooting for Germany?

And argentines won't make it easier, they will shove in their faces how better they are. Please after Brasil lost they sang "brazil ha ha ha"
Re: Bistro on the corner
The Netherlands and Germany have a laden history as well.Buenos wrote:Argentines winning the World Cup in the Macarena would be Uruguay 1950 all over again.
The Dutch lost from the Germans in 1974, and because of this (and sadly also because of their 2nd World War history) any football match between them, especially on such a high level, are full of tension and sadly some negativity/hostility amongst the supporters.

Re: Bistro on the corner
I'm starting to think that we really should've set up a FIFA World Cup thread
I hardly ever watch soccer or the World Cup, but I feel bad for the Brazil fans out there (Marie, you're probably ecstatic that they've beaten Brazil to secure the third place). And I'm rooting for Argentina, just because they are the underdogs (sort of?). That Lionel Messi guy looks like he deserves a World Cup win after trying and failing to bring his team to victory for so long.
Anyway, there are plenty of Chris news going on now that I should probably spend more attention to, but I thought I'd share another news in the sports world. Ian Thorpe, a well known Australian swimmer, had recently come out that he is gay and... I would say that we are still a long ways away from becoming a truly tolerant and accepting society.
I stumbled upon this article and some of the comments turn my stomach.
https://au.sports.yahoo.com/news/article/-/24446946/ian-thorpe-reportedly-reveals-he-is-gay/
I can never understand why people have to be so mean.
This made me more impressed by how Chris had managed to find the courage at a tender age of 19y.o. to come out to the public.

I read about that and I am so proud of him.
For years ones in the media made jokes about it that I found distasteful.
I can see why he was depressed and turned to medication.
I hope this is a weight of his shoulders, as it was for Magda Subanzski, as she suffered from depression as well before she came out.

What a match! There was a moment I had no idea who was gonna win. And though I wasn't rooting for Germany,if I've to be fair, they deserved the cup
Re: Bistro on the corner
so glad Germany won, because the best team won. and it's one of the rare times someone i root for wins something big.
i have just one problem. WTF was that golden ball travesty ??? Leo Messi, really ???? he wasn't even the best argentinian player in the cup, let alone the best out of cup players.

I'm with you tanita, why Messi got the golden ball? Was a consolation prize? For me they were better layers than him.

Went to the beach today. I went in with a Chris Colfer-like complexion (as I am of Russian decent and my ancestors did not know from sunlight). Now resemble a cooked lobster. Oww....
