Just for fun, let's speculate
Since we still have a month left in the hiatis, I thought it might be fun to have a thread where we can discuss and speculate on which Whitney Houston songs they will put into tribute episode. It's reported that there are 8 songs in the episode. Which songs do you think will make it? How will they be used? Who will sing them?
Here are my guesses:
So Emotional--Sung by Santana--She sings it to Brit
I Wanna Dance With Somebody--Sung by Mercedes, Kurt, Rachel, and Santana--This song will be in the choir room, mostly sung to their significant others.
I'm Every Woman--Sung by Rachel and Santana--Mostly because of Lea's tweets about her and Naya doing something epic
You Give Good Love--Sung by Rachel--She sings it to Finn because he gives good love to her.
Like I Never Left--Sung by Samcedes--No explanation need--they'll finally be reunited.
The Greatest Love Of All--Sung by Kurt--He sings it in the choir room to everyone after he dumps Blaine's derpy ass, and tells everyone that he is going to just enjoy the rest of senior year as a single guy
All At Once--Sung by Blaine--He sings it to Kurt after Kurt dumps his derpy ass.
Didn't We Almost Have It All--Sung by Blaine--Because,gosh darn it, if he is going to be dumped by Kurt, he is going to get two solos out of it.
OK, so I'm mostly joking on these, but I'd be willing to put up with two Blaine solos to have the last three come true

I'm Every Woman--Sung by Alex of TGP - didn't they say he's only comfortable in drag? besides he wowed the judges w/a whitney song, so he shall sing one. He's practically the male version of Mercedes.

I was wondering if they would try to squeeze Alex into the episode.
I know his high school is performing Chicago next week. I don't know for sure if Alex is in it, but I did see on his twitter a while back that he commented about Chicago rehearsals. A relative of mine has a big part in the show, so I may actually be going to see it.
My sister saw Alex at an acapella competition here in Massachusetts last month. He sings with the choir at his school with my relative. She said he was wearing a sparkly scarf, and didn't have any solos.

I would love it if they did the "When You Believe" duet she did with Mariah Carey. I adore that song. I could be a duet between a number of people : Mercedes, Rachel, Santana maybe ever Kurt in the mix. I know only a few of WH songs so I'm not much help here.

I'd love for Kurt to sing The Greatest Love of All. OTOH, I do think they're likely to get slammed for cashing in on Whitney's death too soon. So if they leave Kurt out of that mess. I'll be Ok with him not singing. This one time.

LOVE IT It will be amazing! hahahhaa
However, Isn't too soon to made this tribute episode???
Re: Just for fun, let's speculate
Id rather Kurt sing a beegee song than a Whitney song. Did u notice that none of the male songs originally sung by a guy in falsetto was sung by Chris? Piss me off!

It is absolutely positively too soon to do this episode--most everyone seems to agree, too. This isn't about paying tribute to Whitney. This is about doing a tribute episode to attract viewers, and sell iTunes songs. They are totally capitalizing.
Re: Just for fun, let's speculate
What I hate most about the incessant tribute episodes, TBH, is that they keep reducing the number of episodes that can be used to give Hummelberry amazing Broadway numbers. It’s really disappointing.
Anyways, my nightmare song list:
I Wanna Dance With Somebody: Artie and Quinn sing this, only after ND sings You Should Be Dancing to them in the previous episode. And it’s all very inspirational/not offensive at all. They will get together, Quinn will stay behind for him, and this will dash my hopes for both an Artina reunion and Dianna leaving Glee early to be in boring romantic comedies that are still better than this show.
I'm Every Woman: Sung by Blaine, in RIB’s (first) attempt to broaden his appeal. (A Pezberry duet on this would sound pretty good I think, but that probably means it won’t happen.)
I Have Nothing: Sung by Rachel, Mercedes, Kurt and Santana because, according to RIB+, they really do have nothing without their significant others. (One or all, especially Kurt, should sing Greatest Love of All, so it won’t happen.)
A mash-up of Queen of the Night and the Queen of the Night aria sung by Cheno, because she’s extremely versatile & needs to come back to Glee. (This one I’d actually enjoy, btw.)

This would only work if it was a mashup with "I Am Woman Hear Me Roar."
Re: Just for fun, let's speculate
^ that why I think Alex should sing the song. He screams "I'm a woman stuck in a mans body ".

Now I understand why they're doing this tribute: because they

Is perfect for Alex, I mean the first time I saw him I thought he was a girl with short hair.
Re: Just for fun, let's speculate

Yes, but I imagine Sir Elton would want Chris to sing, and that would be a no-no with Murphy

I've been wanting a Cory Hart/Bryan Adams Great Canadians of the 80's tribute episode!
Re: Just for fun, let's speculate
Didn't sir elton say (according to Jane Lynch) that he wanted his character to sleep w/ Chris'? Murphy will not like it.

Bryan Adams is Canadian? I practically cannot distinguish a canadian from an american. they even sound the same to me. anyway the difference between a canadian and american is that the canadian pays a bit more than us in almost everything except cold air.Jellyrolls wrote:I've been wanting a Cory Hart/Bryan Adams Great Canadians of the 80's tribute episode!
