Re: The Land of Stories 2 : Book Tour 2013
Today I met Chris Colfer again, 380 days after the first book signing for TLOS. After shaking his hand the thing I decided to tell him was that I’m going to Northwestern in the Fall. Really because of SBL but it means something to me. He asked me what my major will be and I happily answered “Biology and Gender Studies.” Of course Chris had this approving face and smiled so big. To me it was a sign that he is proud of me. My best friend Maria also talk to Chris about me just like I talked about her last time. He was lovely.

bout 5:30, got books and silver/member wristband by 9:15, got back in line about 1:30.
When I got in the actual signing line, I was about 30th back (maybe?) and had a great view of the table and the walkway for the entrance. (Looking at Chris’s video, I was next to the windows just behind the bookcase) Watched Chris (looking amazing) walk out, watched Will record all of us and Chris (with a shit-eating-I’m-in-love grin).
When it was my turn, my books were handed over to Chris and I mentioned that my best friend and I went to the Harry Potter Studio last summer and I wanted to know what his “HOLY SHIT” moment was. He said there were many but mainly being able to sit behind Dumbledore’s desk. He asked mine and I said walking up Diagon Alley. I then mentioned that when he posted those pictures of him behind the desk, etc that I had some very choice and inappropriate words to say to him (those locations are not open to the general public on a tour for photo ops) and he laughed. I then asked him if they spent time in the wand room (wand shop) looking at names. He said yeah they tried to find all the actors (mentioned finding Emma Thompson and Emma Watson) and Alla said that was one of her fav spots too. He and I also spoke about standing there when the Great Hall doors open and you are just there. We both said thank you and I walked away. As I did, I caught Will’s eye and waved shyly and mouthed hi and he did it back to me!
I then internally squealed because Chris and I could share a fan experience even though it was at two separate times and experiences but still shared. Now, a nap may be in order as the loopiness set in. I’m really glad I have fandom friends with whom I could squeal about today.

Re: The Land of Stories 2 : Book Tour 2013
Today my Mom attended the book signing at the Grove with me and brought along her co-worker who is the librarian at the school where she teaches. My mother is a fifth grade teacher and this is how she earned the ONLY posed picture of the day with Chris.
Last year, after the first TLOS book signing, my Mom told me that she wanted to read the book to her fifth grade class. As soon as she saw the overwhelming response from her students, she decided that she was going to take this further and decided to create some activities off of it. At the end of the year, her class decided that they wanted to send these projects to Chris so my mom did the best thing possible, she hand delivered to him.
The first activity was a book of letters to Chris to thank him.
As soon as they finished the book, they wrote a letter to him talking about how much they appreciated the book and personal notes to him. They also had to draw a picture to go with it. My mom said that this was the neatest and one of projects that they really took care and effort in.
Here is the letter she opened with:
Here are a few of the letters minus their names for protection.
The second project that she had them re-tell a famous fairy tale from a different point of view. The kids really wanted him to have this because they wanted him to see how his versions of the fairy tales inspired them to look at their fairy stories differently.
Chris was shocked and emotional over receiving the books and even told my mom that it was the greatest gift he had ever received. He was flipping through and was in complete awe of the whole thing. My mom told him she wanted a picture to send to her students that wrote the stories and he happily obligated.
This was my moms first time at a book signing and first time experiencing the fandom. Her only words afterwards were, “He is so cute. Why didn’t you tell me he was so cute?” I think this experience made her a whole new level of fan and she loved just how genuine he was the whole time. These projects are ones that I know he will cherish for a long time.

That teacher story is by far my favorite. This is the kind of thing Chris is after: to inspire and provide an escape, especially for kids just as Harry Potter had done for his generation.
Also, so glad Will was there! I love seeing the CrissColfer people squirm.

I wonder if his neck hurts after looking up and down hundreds of times in a row. It would be nicer if the tables were elevated slightly so that he could better look people in the eye and the people wouldn't be towering over him.

That staff (presumably) looks like the epitome of Pasadena hipsters I'd always imagined
And the girls around Chris are seriously rubbing off on the Colfer magic. I'm just jealous!

Re: The Land of Stories 2 : Book Tour 2013
sooo yesterday i met chris colfer (again woops)
i’m going to skip the whole beginning of the day yeah
he arrived and everyone was yelling and he looked so pretty with his freckles and then will enters and i almost threw myself to the ground because i wasn’t expecting that he was going to be there and the whole time chris was signing and talking to the fans he was looking at chris like he was the most of the perfect person ever (he is) and he looked so proud and it was so cute i wanted to cry ):
when only two people were ahead of me i started shaking because i was so close and i looked at will and then he looked at me and i guess he saw that i was nervous and he smiled at me and he is so cute jfc.
so then it was my turn and he was so pretty after 9 months i forgot he actually existed in real life, and then here’s our conversation:
chris: hi! how are you?
me: shaking
chris: oh it’s okay been there
me: yeah um you probably don’t remember but this is the fourth time i’ve met you and i feel like a spoiled…..brat
chris: really? that’s amazing, actually i think i remember you, i’m so glad you’re here again!
me: my best friend was supposed to come but at the end he wasn’t able to and i, he, sorry i’m really nervous
chris: it’s okay, take your time sweetie.
me: i think he would’ve thank you for helping him being honest with himself
chris: that’s so sweet!
me: or that he wants your hair or your clothes
and then chris laughed for a while and it was so cute baby ):
chris: oh god, tell him that i say thanks! and thanks to you too!
me: no, thanks to you!
i was going to leave and then i said: i love you and he thanked me and then i said: ….you’re really cute and he said: oh thanks, you too!
SO HE CALLED ME CUTE AND I’M STILL ALIVE HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA *throws up*

Re: The Land of Stories 2 : Book Tour 2013
I know this year around Chris only had limited time capacity and I also get why they always chose LA and NYC, but for future signings I hope he'll actually gets the chance to visit more places which usually are not represented in those tours. I love all those fan encounters, but it is a but "unfair to read that many of them actually already met him several times. I am so happy for those and most certainly envy them, but I'd wish all his fans from the not-LA/NYC areas actually would get the chance. Especially because we are not used to see a celebrity ever.
At least the Seattle area gets the chance this time around. I am happy for them. As a German, my chances to attend a book tour are slim anyway (I am still regretting I didn't fly to London).

xAugust 6, 2013. Around 2:30 AM, Chris Colfer is seized by a drove of my coworkers as they display his new book The Land of Stories: The Enchantress Returns for a photo op. Colfer had been the object of fierce adoration all day (people were lined up outside the front doors of Barnes and Noble for more than 24 hours), but the event reached fever pitch when he divulged his favorite Hogwarts house: Ravenclaw.

I know, right?! There is more than the East Coast and the West Coast....what about us poor people in between?Lottie2303 wrote:I know this year around Chris only had limited time capacity and I also get why they always chose LA and NYC, but for future signings I hope he'll actually gets the chance to visit more places which usually are not represented in those tours. And what about those overseas? I wonder if he'll ever go to Europe for TLOS3?

Chris must be so excited about those encounters. After all, it clearly shows children actually love the book. As it should be.arina wrote:I loove this picture and Chris also always seems so happy signing for kids
