The cover of 'The Curvy Tree' is out!
Once upon a time, there was a little girl who didn’t quite fit in. When she runs away, she happens upon a curvy tree who helps her understand the importance of being different.

ew.com/article/2015/01/30/see-cover-chris-colfers-curvy-treeGlee star Chris Colfer added “New York Times bestselling author” to his résumé with his The Land of Stories series, and now, he can also add “picture-book author.” The Curvy Tree (out Oct. 27) is a companion picture book to the aforementioned series illustrated by Brandon Dorman. EW has a first look at the new cover. (Click “enlarge” up top to see the full image.)
Here’s the official description: “Once upon a time, there was a little girl who didn’t quite fit in. When she runs away, she happens upon a curvy tree who helps her understand the importance of being different.”
Also available on Oct. 27 is a new boxed set titled Adventures from the Land of Stories: The Mother Goose Diaries and Queen Red Riding Hood’s Guide to Royalty.

Re: The Curvy Tree
I wonder if the girl will have a name? And if so, if it's Alex?

I am a woman well in my adult years and I cannot believe that I'm this excited over getting a children's book.

Re: The Curvy Tree
i really don't care what color as long as it's not a repeat of the color themes that have already been used. the first book is green. the second book is purple. the third one is red. this is purple again. i'd like to see it being a light blue, an orange, a teal, or some other distinctive color. i know for sure this book will never sport a pink color.

Re: The Curvy Tree
I hope Chris gets to see this.
Dear Chris,
So my name is Kara and my brother is severely intellectually and physically disabled. Because of this we come into contact with a lot of other kids with disabilities. One such girl is Ebony, whose mother works with my Dad. She has learning difficulties and is partially blind (there may be other issues which I am not aware of). Her mum has told my dad things like that Ebony wants a butt implant, because everyone has big butts, and that she doesn’t like to use a cane to help her get around, because no one else does.
So my dad was looking around online, and found a link to the EW article about The Curvy Tree, and he asked me if we were getting it in at the bookstore I work at. He’d vaguely recognised your name, probably because I have all the Land of Stories books on my shelf. I was going to preorder the Curvy Tree for myself, but now I am even more excited for it to come out. My dad wants to buy it to give to Ebony, to hopefully show her that being different isn’t a bad thing, in a way that is accessible for her and hopefully fun.
I just wanted to let you know that this book could really affect people who need it, and when the book releases, I’ll let you know how it goes down with Ebony. This book will be a benefit to so many people, and I just wanted to talk to you about our story (as it’s just beginning) and maybe this will let you know how much even little families on the other side of the world (Australia) are affected by your work. Thank you!
Kara
