I am the only Mayan shipper, I think. But feel free to jump on board! Woohoo!arina wrote:I think this is the ship of Marie with Ryan (Murphy) . Karen is the biggest shipper.
Maybe I should ship Rytastica just to aggrevate you then. Or would Fyan be a better ship name? Or perhaps Murphtastica?fantastica wrote:oh gosh, please do not pair anyone w/ murphy. it makes me want to puke
Re: Chris Colfer Appreciation Thread!--part 8
^You do know, Karen, that most shippers see one half of their ship as a substitute for themselves, so they can pretend to be making out with the other half?
So, who do you secretly have the hots for: Ryan, or me and Kim?
To make some practical use of this post: keep voting for Chris: vote PCA !!!

I love seeing things like this.
OMG
I’m watching Ice Dancing (Skate Canada) and I’d totally forgotten that the German champions were using Glee’s version of Le Jazz Hot.
I feel so confused by this. Like places I just don’t expect Chris Colfer’s voice to be…

Re: Chris Colfer Appreciation Thread!--part 8
Oh sorry, I only saw this now.Jellyrolls wrote:Marie, did you tweet a suggestion?
No, I didn't tweet any suggestions, because I don't know what Chris wants and I don't want to 'push' him into a particular role or voice type. For instance: I don't know if he wants to be the male lead tenor hero.
I think Chris still has a few choices to make when it comes to his voice, and it's all up to him: I don't want to put extra pressure on that.
I guess it's a voice coach integrity thing, I don't know.
However, I did make a tumblr post with a few suggestions:
There are several roles I think I would like Chris to play on stage in a musical in the future, but it all depends on what he wants (e.g. if he won’t mind singing strictly as a tenor or insists on also using his countertenor skills: I actually wish we’d seen more of that dilemma with Kurt at NYADA), and also on what he gets offered.
There’s a role in ‘Book of Mormon’ (Elder Price) I would like to see Chris sing (and act), and I think he’d make a decent Marius in ‘Les Miserables’ or Wicked’s Fiyero, but this is if he wants to be a full-fledged tenor for an extended period of time, like a Broadway run. There are other roles too, some of them he still has to grow into, so give him a couple of years. Maybe some old Hollywood musical production: Gershwin, Rodgers&Hammerstein, Berlin, Cole Porter, something like that, as his voice would be very suited for that. When he’s (a lot) older I’d love to see him as Valjean (Les Miserables) or the Phantom.
And as I was seriously offended as a vocal coach when they chose Blaine over Kurt for ‘West Side Story’ in Glee, I would love to see Chris be Tony one day, just to show them that he can. I think he would be excellent in that role, and another benefit would be that then I would get my ‘Maria’ sung by him and could die happy.
But it’s all up to Chris. He might not want to sing tenor all the time, he might want to do a role that is more about the acting than the singing so he can ease into it and overcome his fright for singing in public first, he might be so hooked up to the female roles he loves so much that he can’t imagine himself being their male lead instead, or he might already have this crazy Broadway show in his head that he’s going to write someday to star in himself. :D
Whatever it will be (and I do hope he will someday be on Broadway) I’m sure I’ll be excited for it and that he will do well. Playbill being interested in him is a good start, and I’m really glad Chris saw that tweet, as he sometimes can be insecure about his singing, and he really should not need to be. The more praise he gets for his singing voice the better.
