i'm not seeing james stewart either. :( (and i'm a big fan of his)

with some longer hair, i think chris would be a dead ringer for river phoenix. and he is the right age to play him now.

Gene Kelly, but they would have to hire a double to do most of the dancing. Razz

Actually, Gene Kelly also had a tenor singing voice (though not as high as Chris's) with a bit of a haze in it. Hmmmm. humhum

This is my dream role for Chris in terms of playing in a biopic.

I initially thought of Gene Kelly, but then I thought of all of his wonderful, amazing dance routines and then I was like: "Um....no!" moque

But a body double could work....

True about the singing voice. Chris can easily jump down from countertenor to tenor.

Maybe Rudolph Valentino? Although, I was never a big fan of his onscreen sex symbol persona.

you know all the guys you mentioned (stewart, valentino, kelly) chris could play, but in 10-20 years. he is far too young and fresh looking for them now. now, either someone young like river or a younger version of those guys but only if they pick actors that chris resembles (even somewhat).

I have to say River Phoenix as well.

And James Dean.

What about Donald O Conner or Danny Kaye?

River Phoenix would be really great too. It is eerie how much alike they look.

This may sound like a stupid question but I have to ask. Why are we suggesting only actor? Did I miss a spoiler about the biopic? Chris can play a musican, a writer or another historical figure that has nothing to do with movie/music industry.

^Someone else than an actor is very possible too, of course. I guess it's just easy to imagine him as a certain actor because there are so many pictures and movies of actors to compare him with.

Yes, Danny Kaye!!!!! bounce
That would be wonderful.

@Ivana: you're right that Chris is too young yet to play some of the people we mention here, but it's just wishful thinking at this point, musing of what would be possible for him in the future, or just beacuse he would be awesome at it (like him being the Phantom one day).
We're fans playing make believe, not a big studio casting for a movie in pre-production. (unfortunately)

I agree that right at this moment only River Phoenix and James Dean come to mind. Or he could be the young version in a movie about e.g. Paul Newman or Steve McQueen.

The only actors Chris strongly resembles are James Dean and River Phoenix, especially River. He's a hard one to place in terms of looks...he's very unique looking. For the other actors, we'll have to stretch our imaginations.

You're right...it could be anyone! Perhaps a famous writer? Oh, the possibilities.

Very unfortunately! Wink

It's so much fun to play with the future possibilities, though.

River was 23 when he died young, coincidentally Chris' age now...

^River was a fine actor, and his life ended so tragically. :(

Chris would be so right for that part, it's almost eerie.

Chris comments made it seem some biopic or part in some historical role was confirmed. IT was among the movie projects he said in a general way he had lined up.

So my guess(hope) is that some HBO or movie project is scheduled during one of his hiatus from Glee, either in December or next spring/summer.

If he has a movie, that would be the one thing I would be fine with if Chris took a sabbatical of a month from Glee filming to finish up that project. The most annoying thing last year was that it was obvious Chris' limited screen time wasn't because he was taking time off to work on some huge outside project.

^ i am sure that talking to people and trying to get the deal inked takes more time than actual acting part. a movie is never a solo project. it always requires a huge team. first you have to find the producers. people must be willing to shell out hard money. things can change all the time. many movies are years in the making if you count all the preparation work.

chris has been working like an energizing bunny so if he had some free time off last year it must be good for him. at least he got himself a boyfriend and had time to travel around the world a bit. a man cannot be all workaholic all the time.

Although I'm sure Chris used all the time off from Glee very well for other projects in the making, I agree that seeing him so underused while still tied down to the show bothered me too.
And then when he did have other things to do publicly (like promotion) he had to do it mostly in the weekends and spare days off.

I really want to see Chris portraying River Phoenix. Just look at the pictures and you realize that Chris is made for this, they're live relatives who never met.

I have no problem with Chris limited to weekends for stuff like book signings /promotions for things outside his Glee filming commitment.  Glee is his meat  and potatoes job.

What is bull shit are people assuming that he negotiated lesser work for Season 4.  He could have, but there's no proof either way.  In interviews he also expressed he missed performing and  wished that Kurt had more to do. so why do some apologists for his reduced time jump to the conclusion that Chris negotiated for  less screen time.

Lea was announced at the beginning of the year to be in all 22 episodes and she ended up missing 3.
She said she started working on an album in part because she had more free time than she initially anticipated.

So if Chris and Lea are being paid the most and can do cameos, that's great, but to some it's a foregone conclusion that they agreed to it  ahead of time and there is no proof of that whatsoever.

Per this movie thread, I seriously doubt Glee would actually give Chris time off during the upcoming Glee season to miss 4 to 6 weeks in order to make an outside movie. He could conceivably make a movie in his winter hiatus if he did that, 3-4 weeks off for XMAS and than another 4-6 off the show's production schedule.

if hte movies are shot in hollywood/LA chris can certain pursue multiple projects simultaneously, like Mike O. chris is no longer in the choir room scenes so he may only need couple of hours a week shooting a couple of minutes of kurt cameo in NY. there's plenty of time for him to do other stuff.
