Re: Questions about the forum
What is it? I have no idea or maybe you're asking something Karen is supposed to know?

alright I forgot to login
ok ignore my above post. I forgot to login so that username problem. but since the input box is so wide it should allow more than 8 characters. wait... if someone is not logged in they wouldn't have username right? it should be labeld "name", but maybe it's part of hte forum software so I am ok w/ it. sorry to trouble you. ignore my entire previous post. I am glad the verification system is only for guest users, since registered posters wouldn't spam (and please do not turn it off)
ok only one very minor quibble - I wish the seperation between the posts can be a little clearer. either by making the alternating background colors a bit more contrasty, or not sure if there's a way to add a dividing line?
A huge congrats to @Shinra for making this forum so pretty! love the background image. very cool and calming, just like Chris' voice! Great job!!!

No need to download anything. It's an ad. The ads that we have on here aren't always very distinct as ads, but I'd just get into the habit of ignoring them.
If the board takes up, I may consider going ad free because the cost to do that isn't that ridiculous (if I'm reading correctly, it is only about $6 a month to go add free).
Re: Questions about the forum
For those who use Firefox, you can add the plug-in Adblock, it stops any ad. I still haven't seen any ads on this forum as far as I'm concerned

Re: Questions about the forum
I just posted a bunch of HUGE sbl photos in the sbl trailor thread. unlike gleeforums these pics are not resized so parts of them are cut off (some w/ chris being cut off). what can be done? is there anyway to manually resize them short of downloading them, photoshop-resize them and then upload to teh server? it would be way too many trouble. please advise.

I'm going to leave this question for Shinra since I have no idea.
Re: Questions about the forum
Actually, Karen has taken care of the problem, all the pictures above 1200 pix in the width direction will be resized. We don't have any previous experience with this feature though, so we're going to see how it works.fantastica wrote:I just posted a bunch of HUGE sbl photos in the sbl trailor thread. unlike gleeforums these pics are not resized so parts of them are cut off (some w/ chris being cut off). what can be done? is there anyway to manually resize them short of downloading them, photoshop-resize them and then upload to teh server? it would be way too many trouble. please advise.

Re: Questions about the forum
I think it's a bit late to ask this but I'm gonna ask anyway:
1) Why are the big threads in this forum (like Snark and Bark thread) divided into a few parts?
2) Is there a way to link 1 part of a thread to the next part (like a link at the last page of part 1 to 1st page of part 2)? I feel that it would be more convenient for people who are reading the old posts, especially non-members who are exploring this forum because they're interested to join.

Re: Questions about the forum
The board automatically splits threads when they reach 990 posts. This is an automatic thing that we have no control over since.
Shinra may have a different answer but I think they only way for us to link one thread to the next would be if we manually linked one thread to the next by editing posts and putting the links in.

Re: Questions about the forum
That link already exists, the board automatically writes a link in the last post of a closed thread to the first post of the new thread .BlueJazz wrote:I think it's a bit late to ask this but I'm gonna ask anyway:

edit: Now that I re-think about it, the link automatically written by the board must be invalid, since we're renaming the new splitted thread with an increasing number.

Re: Questions about the forum
^ So, does that mean the link doesn't exist after all? Or there's way to "activate" the invalid links?

Re: Questions about the forum
No, but we can simply re-write it, I'll do it later
edit: it's done, I've updated all the links.

Re: Questions about the forum
Am I the only one having a hard time getting the forum up on my desk top? It's very very slow since this morning. The iPad works fine with the forum.

Re: Questions about the forum
I get it too on my PC, but not on the tablet, so I think it's some sort of glitch.

Re: Questions about the forum
I have had an issue once in a while with the pages loading, but usually it's fine within a few minutes. It could just be overload on the forumotion site. That's what we get for having a free board I guess
