Don't worry about your English, Valentina. We have a lot of posters who aren't native English speakers/posters.

Ahah, yes, those names are used too, but not so much. They're almost obsoletes.
And yes, I understand some spanish (mostly because some words are/sound similar in Italian), but I'm not able to argue with someone. Unfortunatly, because is a beautiful language!

Are they? :O About ten years ago every girl born was named Renata, it was a success.

So because you understand spanish I'll say Bienvenida al foro Smile and I think I'm able to understand some italian words too.

My sister-in-law is Italian (from Brescia) and some members of her family, when they met Spanish people for the first time, thought they were speaking an Italian dialect uhuhu Smile

Lol, seriously?
Haha, well, it's not so similar, but I don't find hard to belive that some her family members thought they were speaking an Italian dialect because most of them (Italian dialects) are like a different languages. Shocked

Um, well, it's not really a "community" thing.
In Italy there are a lot of little (littlelittlelittleverylittle) villages (especially in the south) with their own history to influence the dialect. And some of them are so different from Italian that you are like 'wait, WHAT?'. Shocked
But they speak Italian too.

Woah! Good for him! Study abroad (is it the right term?) must be a fantastic experience!
Sooo jealous!

In France, there are some region, like Bretagne, where they have a dialect, I just don't understand one word.
