Dmitry Beryozkin Check out tonight’s episode of “Chopped Junior,” which I edited. 9 year olds get a rattlesnake. This photo is what the judges thought of the proceedings (including Glee’s Chris Colfer)

Re: Chris on Chopped Junior
I'm amazed there has not been more comments on this, Chris was lovely both physically and the way he interacted with the children, and so graceful even when he was eating, he made it look refined.
His comments to Carson about being bullied was so on point, the way Carsons face lit up said it all!
If you've not watched this, do, those kids were amazing, if you gave me rattlesnake to cook I would have left the building lol
It's on Vimeo, otherwise I would not have been able to watch it.

Re: Chris on Chopped Junior
Those ingredients were insane! Does the show usually have this difficult stuff for the kids?
And rattle snake as an ingredient...only the professional judge had tasted it and even she only once!

Re: Chris on Chopped Junior
I don't know! This is the only time I've watched it, don't live in the states so was lucky someone was kind enough to upload to Vimeo, I would not had a clue what to do with a rattlesnake let alone some of the other ingredients!
I know I'm shallow but I only watched for the Chris ingredient alas there was not much of him, but what there was, was quality

Re: Chris on Chopped Junior
I love watching Chopped and while the kids version is still challenging, it's not quite as difficult as the adult, when it's not at all unusual for them to get some obscure ingredient that they've never heard of before.
Chris was a wonderful judge and it really look like the kids took to him. He was respectful and empathetic (and probably impressed as hell given that he really can't cook at all). I love watching his interactions with children and how he was able to show real support for the kid who talked about how he was bullied for liking "girly" things.

The Judges’ Memories of Their Very First Dishes — Chopped Junior
Chopped Junior Judges Give Their Best Advice to ContestantsA Recipe to Set Him Up for Life — Chris Colfer: "There was this dish in a cookbook called A Man, A Can, A Plan, and … when I moved away from home, my mom sent me with that, thinking that I would never starve if I just was able to follow the simple instructions of opening a can, and there was a pasta dish in there … and to this day it’s my go-to dish when I’m hung over.“
Have Fun, Life Goes On — Chris Colfer: ”[Do not] put too much weight on the competition, and know that it’ll be a fun and exciting experience, but their whole life is not going to be based on whether or not they win or lose this show.“
