Favorite Season One Kurt Moment
Since we are in the final weeks of Glee, I thought it might be fun to go back and revisit seasons pasts. Every few days, I'm going to start a new thread with a different topic where we can discuss some of our favorite Kurt Hummel memories.
So let's go all the way back to the start, and each share our favorite season one Kurt moment.

Re: Favorite Season One Kurt Moment
Good Thread!
So many S1 moments, one of my faves:
Preggers:
"I'm Kurt Hummell and I'm auditioning for the role of kicker."
Fuck "Single Ladies...'
The whole damn espisode of Kurt !

There are so many great Kurt moments in S1! Single Ladies. Coming out to Mercedes and Burt. His iconic line in Theatricality, "I swear to you I will never change. I'm proud to be different, it's the best thing about me."
Definitely one of my top Kurt performances/moments of all time is Rose's Turn:

Re: Favorite Season One Kurt Moment
Roses Turn showed Kurt's not a park and bark belter, he is dynamic, and memorable.
Auditioning for kicker, Kurt is a character where you don't always expect him to win, so him actually getting the goal was amazing, and it was followed by the even more amazing Burt/Kurt scene. Damn Glee for screwing this relationship so royally to prop up Blaine.
Was it season 1 or 2, the Madonna episode? Because the whole episode was kind of like the pinnacle of Kurt, which is even more sad because it was so long ago. His BAMF cheerio routine, his black and white video, which gave glimpses of his amazing cheekbones, and ended with his soaring "I hear your voice" line which still sends shivers.
Damn, I miss that Kurt, so damn much.

That was season 1. The first episode after the first 13 aired. I remember that so well. The cast and producers were on Oprah and they showed this gif:
I squeed, because he looked so grown up and sexy.

Re: Favorite Season One Kurt Moment
I think rose's turn and the scene after with Burt is still my favorite scene.
Other s1 scenes that i loved:
-Furt in Ballad when Kurt talks about his mom with finn.
-Kurt teaching the jocks the single ladies dance
-the muppet babies
-kurt coming out to Mercedes and Burt
-everything in wheels
-the scene with and mr shue in bad reputation
-the scene at the end of Theatricality with Dave and Azimio.
I'm forgetting a lot but so far a few from me

Re: Favorite Season One Kurt Moment
The Madonna episode, because I gave Glee the miss the first five minutes when the Pilot aired so I never saw Kurt Hummel.
There nothing else to watch and I was home alone so thought I would give the show another try.
Kurt/Chris is the only reason why I started to watch Glee.
After seeing Roses Turn later on it encouraged me to get the DVD's later on so I could see right from the beginning.
I ended up liking other characters, but Kurt was my main favourite.

Re: Favorite Season One Kurt Moment
I wasn't on board with watching Glee from the very first season. I think I started to watch it online when second series had just finished airing in US and the first or second season 2 episode had just aired in TV here. They did have the show on a relatively big channel over here, but not with so much promo that I would have noticed. I didn't really like the consept because I've always hated high school TV shows, but decided to give it a go after the, IMO seeing the shows best episodes from S2 (I will maintain those few S2 starter episodes besides Preggers and only few others along the way remain the best of the best).
But S1...I'm a pedant, watching everything in order, I decided to start from S1. The plain truth was that I pretty much hated all of the other characters besides Kurt, Marcedes and Rachel. Kurt was such a facinating character to have in a high school show and Chris gave such good backround acting from the very beginning that he was hard to miss. He hardly even spoke in the first few episodes!
But I will forever remember the cruel moment of Kurt's dumpster throw moment where Will, a teacher, utterly concieved of his own imagined excellence, failed to notice it. My hard hatred for Will harbours all the way from that moment. That is also why Kurt standing up to Puck infront of the dumpsters after Finn's death was such a big moment for me.
The small, probably few seconds long interaction with Finn, Puck and Will towards Kurt was the moment I knew this one is a keeper. It must have also happened with everyone else because Kurt got more and more to do and say as the season grew older.

Re: Favorite Season One Kurt Moment
I really loved Chris in the Home Episode. He did such an amazing job on "A House Is Not A Home." He just put so much emotion into that performance. And his interactions with Cory were always so fantastic. I also loved Chris and Cory in Theatricality. I think one of the saddest things about Glee is that we didn't get more Furt, and never got a proper Chris/Cory duet.

I think my favorite season one Kurt moment is when he sang I Want To hold Your Hands. I wish there had been more Kurt solos.

You are right. For A moment I thought it was in season one. My favorite season one moment is when Kurt came out to his dad. Back when Burt was a great father. He is not bad father by far but in my opinion he was a much better father then.

Re: Favorite Season One Kurt Moment
I liked when he gave Rachel her streetwalker chic makeover...
Really, season one Kurt was pretty awesome in every way. He had me at "one day you'll all work for me" in the pilot and stuck with me until Ryry removed his spine and shackled him to an unworthy tool.

Re: Favorite Season One Kurt Moment
My favorite season 1 Kurt moment was when Kurt threw the slushie in his own face in 'Mash-Up', when the footballteam wanted Finn to slushie Kurt for quitting the team.
He was so brave and loyal.
I also liked when Kurt was the one of the Muppet Babies to confess to Sue he had put her video of 'Physical' on youtube (Bad Reputation). Chris' acting in that scene was both comedic and realistic (being nervous and flinching, scared of Sue's reaction, and then the surprise when she wasn't angry at all ).
All scenes between Kurt and Sue are my favorites. There was also that scene in season 1 at the lockers in 'Laryngitis' when Kurt told Sue his problems with his dad and Sue seemed interested at first but then totally zoned out, lol.
Sue: "So you like showtunes, doesn't mean you're gay, it just means you're awful. You know there's only one person in this world who can tell you what you are."
Kurt: "Me."
Sue: "No, me."

A house is not a home
So many favourite moments it's really hard to choose but I think when Kurt sang a house is not a home is definitely one of my favourite s it was just beautiful and emotional and with so many sub texts to it,
Years later it came to my attention that Matt and oops forgot her name did a mash up of the same song and I didn't even notice!

Re: Favorite Season One Kurt Moment
It's very hard to choose my favourite Kurt moments in Season 1...but after thinking about it for a few days I've got a few:
Defying Gravity+the conversation with Burt after that, Rose's Turn, 4 Minutes, everything in Preggers, slushying himself for the team...he had some lovely snarky quotes in Season 1 as well. No wonder we fell in love with him, he was brave, kind, a talented performer and hilariously snarky.
