pranceworthy:
My pictures were all taken on a phone by my mom, so they’re a little blurry, but they’ll do He looks like he’s “thinking” in the first couple pictures because he had to think about what “advice” to give me.
Me: *walks over, hand outstretched to shake his* “Hi! I just want to thank you so much for finally coming to Minnesota!”
Chris: *shakes my hand* “Oh, of course!”
Me: “Um, I was just wondering if you had any advice for someone coming right out of high school…besides getting on a hit TV show right away.”
Chris: *smiles, signs books* “Oh yeah, I had it easy.” *has to pause and think about it* “Uh, I guess don’t be afraid to take risks, I almost didn’t audition for glee.”
Me: “Oh really?”
Chris: “Yeah, It’s a cliche but…” *smiles again*
Me: *Smiles back* “Okay! Thank you!!” *walks away to watch my little sister talk to him*

ok my convo with chris here we go…
Chris: Hi! How are you?
Me: Good! I wanna thank you for coming to MN cause no one ever comes up here.
Chris: Aw! Well, thank you for coming!
Me: I wanted to know what your favorite classic literature works are?
Chris: Ooooh. Peter Pan. Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland.
Me: I also made you this dog collar with a bunch of charms sewn on.
-I gave him it in a box. The charms were things like Big Ben, a tea pot, “dream”, “love”, a book…
Chris: *he takes it out and looks at it* Oh my goodness! Thank you! That’s very sweet! Ohhh, that’s so sweet, you pretty much got me! Thank you so much! Thank you for that.
I then shook his hand (which I almost forgot to do! like I forgot to introduce myself!), thanked him again and took my books, and went out to wait for Jocelyn and Justine and went into shock.

I was so enthralled with Chris tonight. Not only is he very gorgeous and pretty to look at, but when you were up there for the few seconds he gave you his undivided attention and made you feel appreciated and genuine. Such a great guy. Swoon. I won’t be sleeping for a while…

So I got to meet Chris Colfer! It was beyond amazing! When I told him I wanted to write books he said, “Well maybe next time it will be at your book signing!” I cannot believe this happened. He was so down to earth and nice! I gave him a book mark with a gratitude symbol to represent how much he had inspired me as well as show how grateful I am for that. I also gave him two golf balls signed by me with little messages because I was captain of my golf team this year. Thank you so much to phoenixtears8907 and marauder-in-warblerland as well as all the other girls who I don’t have tumblrs for! It was amazing! I will remember this for the rest of my life.

I MET CHRIS COLFER TODAY AND HE SAID HE LIKED MY SHIRT
Life=made
The line moved really fast so we didn’t have much time with him but I wore my Struck by Lightning shirt and he said “I like your shirt! I made that in Microsoft Paint!” And I said “it’s perfect” and I probably made it all up in my head but I think he said “you’re perfect” as I walked away.
Either way, he’s the sweetest guy and way more handsome in person. His hair was perfect and I’m glad he had a great time at the mall of America today.
I met my hero.

So I finally got to meet Chris Colfer tonight
and I almost didn’t get to say what I wanted to say because the girl in front of me (whom I had been chatting with while in line) took up a few extra moments to give him a few gifts and he ended up signing both hers and mine in one go.
He started to reach for my book again when she walked away and Alla was like “You already signed it” (while very subtly trying to move me along). I ignored her because there was no way in hell I was leaving without speaking to him for a second.
So I very quicklybabbled told him that he (and Glee) helped me get through depression/kinda saved my life. He thanked me (that sweet little muffin) and said he liked my shirt. I thanked him and left.
For what it’s worth he’s a lot more muscular in person the he looks in pictures/on tv. His eyes are also super pretty in person. Like they legit stuck out to me and wow I can not.
I’ll post the pictures I got tomorrow, but yeah. I’m really, really glad I went. He’s exactly as wonderful in person as he seems and I’m really proud to say I look up to him.

so i met chris colfer…
First off just let me say that Chris is fucking AMAZING. I literally like couldn’t look at him he’s so gorgeous and just WOW i was shaking so hard. He looked at me with such interest the entire time we were talking and just wow i cannot believe he’s even real. Chris was amazing and I love him even more now.
Here’s what our interaction was:
Me: (SHAKING) Thank you so much for being here and taking the time out. It means so much thank you. (At this point I could feel the red balloon bookshop employee glaring at me so I was talking SUPER fast so I didn’t take up too much time) I work for a relationship violence awareness center and we have a klaine inspired button that I wanted you to see! *slips him button*
It has this picture and says “consent is sexy”
Chris: Oh how cool, that’s awesome!
Me: I also thought you might enjoy gay batman *gives him the second button*
Chris: Oh my gosh, I do, very much! Thank you!
Me: Thank you so so much, you are awesome!
To be completely honest though, my experience was not the best. I understand completely why the employees are in a rush in these situations. They have a lot of people to get through and not too much time. Plus, my time was right in the middle so the employees were probably tired and didn’t see an end in sight. However, to completely shove me along and to BODILY BLOCK my sister from taking any photos when i KNOW other people got to take photos was incredibly rude. Most of the employees were great but a couple you could tell just did not want to be there and were starting to hate all the (pretty damn polite) fans. I was super disappointed because I didn’t get a single picture of myself with chris and was basically being pushed as i was trying to tell my hero how much he meant to me. Idek I’m being a whiney ass baby but I’m so incredibly sad that it didn’t go the way I wanted it to. Just because one employee was grumpy, a bunch of people were let down. Pretty sad (

Achievement!
I did it! On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being “mortifying” and 10 being “A+ successful interaction,” I’d give myself a 7. Positive, but probably the least memorable interaction ever. Under pressure and without adequate planning, my brain defaults to autopilot, so I believe I came across as quiet/sweet/a little starstruck but polite, literally only saying “Hi,” “Good,” blurting “it’s nice to meet you” (“oh, it’s nice to meet you too!”), and then an awkward “Bye” when I meant to say “Thank you.”
In fairness, I tripped on the last part because I was temporarily dazed and dazzled by his deliberate eye contact. As I walked away, realizing I had not registered a single thing about his appearance except how very stunningly colored his eyes are, I did have one clear if not coherent thought bubble up from the dizzying buzz in my head:
His voice is like angel dust and cotton clouds.

So I want to share my experience of meeting Chris Colfer at the Red Balloon Bookstore in St Paul Minneapolis.
It literally just happened, since I went with my sister Olivia (she likes to be called Oriah). So… we went up kind of shyly since we were nervous. My sister has special needs so my mom was there to push her in the wheel chair, but I said hi to him… and looked over at my sister who was hiding her face in her arm… But I told her to say hi, and she did and moved her arm down to wave… and then she went to hide her face in arm again…
But Chris held out his hand to shake it, and she peeked and grabbed his hand. He asked for her name, and she was so quiet I said it again for her. “It’s Oriah. She’s a really big fan of yours.”
He said, “Oh you really like the books?”
"Yeah." she said and then he signed our copies of the Land Of Stories, and said "bye sweetie" and I just walked out with tears in my eyes… because he was just so sweet to her. And I loved that she shook his hand even though she was so shy that she was covering her face… And my sister who is usually really outgoing got shy and it was all just a super cute moment.
I forgot to mention to him that this whole thing was a surprise for my sister. But she knew who he was and she said afterwards that she was happy to meet him and ahh it was just a great experience.
Also I’m thinking of doing a give away for one of the books we got, because both my sister and I each got a copy, and I only need one to read to her. So look out for that if you’re interested.

SO YESTERDAY I MET CHRIS COLFER???
Yeah! I went to Chris’s St. Louis signing and it was MORE THAN AMAZING.
I got there two-ish hours early and got in line. When we finally got in the building, my mom and I got extremely lucky and got two seats in the second row. The people working for the library told us his flight was delayed, so the event started about fifteen minutes late.
When he was introduced and walked out of a doorway and onto the stage, it was such a surreal moment. It was so weird to see him in person (as opposed to just pictures and video). It was unbelievable. He is so unbelievably attractive.
He seemed so amazed by the amount of people( 800!) that were there (“I feel like a Jackson!”) He took a couple selfies with the crowd (I’m sure I was in one, but not the one he posted on instagram. boo.), and then started the Q&A.
He’s so unbelievably cute. He has a little stutter that comes out when he was answering questions that only added to his cuteness. He was very fidgety and expressive with his feet and hands and face and watching him talk in person was such a cool experience. He answered a lot of questions, some of them including what animal he would be (his cat), if he saw Adam and Queen in concert (he did, and then he called Adam one of his “very best friends” and also “his favorite demigod”). It was so great. The only downside was that it didn’t go on forever.
Then he went of the stage and the signing started. My mom and I were in group three, which I’m thankful for, because I needed a second to breathe. We got in line after only a short amount of time, and then we came up to the signing room. We were told to pocket phones, so I sneakily turned on the audio recorder and stuck it in my cardigan pocket. I was unsure if it would work, but listening to it afterwards, I am very very happy I recorded it. I didn’t really say much, I was pretty awestruck and the line was moving very fast. Our conversation went something like this:
"Hi!"
"Hello!"
"Thank you so much for all of this."
"Awh, well thanks for coming!"
"Of course!"
and then he handed me the books and I left.
I was pretty much just in shock for the rest of the night.
If I can figure out how to do it, I will definitely upload the audio of our meeting even though I sound like a total dweeb. :P
Anyways, yeah! I met Chris Colfer! And hopefully I will several more opportunities later in life.
