The Scandal stuff we already know, and I hate that Kurt is crying again as we saw him the strongest he has ever been in Season 5, that we had not seen since Season 1.

Blaine is not worth crying over.

I am interested in the Kurt and Spencer scene and the Nyada flashback for Kurt.

The return of the originals hopefully is good.

But the Jane and Rachel and Blaine and Rachel stuff I have no interest in. Sleep

Blaine would have become Rachel's new best gay before Kurt returns to Lima and McKinley.

The Kurt we know now would feel really comfortable in a weight room as of "Tested" Kurt also works out and lifts weights.

He probably punches the bag as well and knows how to box.

This could be one thing Kurt and Spencer have in common.

I hope they do the Kurt and Spencer story well, as this could be something about this show that would be interesting to watch.

Of course I do not trust the writers. dryy

If only they could give this story some serious thought and meaning, it might make up for the crap the rest of Season sux is giving us.

I really hope the Kurt and Spencer stuff is done well. I won't be able to stomach another "right kind of gay/wrong kind of gay" theme. I also hope they don't forget Kurt's characterization is season 5. He's stronger and more confident than ever.

Well, MJ, the one blogging the spoilers has said we are getting Season 5 Kurt, and she has been right so far.

I still don't like Kurt crying over Blaine, as how can he not know he can do a lot better.

They don't tell us why Kurt picks Blaine now, especially what we saw in "Tested" as Kurt looked well aware of the interest from the guys he was getting during that combat class, which makes no sense why he would pick Blaine, with his gelled hair, grandpa clothes, and rotten personality.

One just has to accept that they never will justify why these two are together. We're just supposed to accept that they are a love for the ages without any showing why whatsoever. So Klaine fans will just take the party line and keep spouting that they love each other however awful they seem together or however dickishly Blaine (or Kurt maybe) behaves to the other. In the meantime, the rest of us just watch wide eyed wondering how the Klainers can still love this mess that much... and head canon the eventual divorce. Trying to 'understand', 'meta' or 'explain' any of this is a complete waste of time.

Marshall Williams was on Canadian Idol.

Noah Guthrie is a youtube singer (and performed on Dancing with the Stars last year).

So it looks like glee went with singers for the new newbies. I wonder if they can actually act.

I've put the scenes in chronological order. Maybe they'll make more sense now (ha, good luck with that).

Besides that I hate to see Kurt crying period, I'm really vexed he doesn't even get to sing in an episode when he cries twice.
After enduring quite enough of Rachel and Blaine's ugly crying faces while singing I think it's about time Kurt gets his turn.(which reminds me of 'Rose's Turn', when Kurt still had a voice and POV)

What does this even mean? "Blaine's bear love tests Kurt's mettle." unsure
In my dictionary it says 'mettle' means 'courage/bravery'. Why would Kurt need courage because Blaine suddenly loves bears (plural, so not just Karofsky?)? Or is this just a cringeworthy way to say that Kurt is taken aback when he finds out Blaine and Dave are a couple?

And no wonder Blaine dismissed Kurt's physique in 'Tested' (especially the old season 2 and 3 "just....Kurt") when he's apparently so into bears. dryy
I mean: say what?
Last season Blaine said he loved the time when Kurt was seen as weaker and girlier than him, but now he's totally into bears?

This whole Blainofsky thing seems to make a reunion of Klaine more and more impossible and unlikely with every new spoiler.
Why on earth would this couple want to be together again, when Kurt (rightfully imo) broke of the engagement because they were constantly fighting and they now failed living together twice (after failing a long distance relationship), Blaine clearly isn't into Kurt physically, and they have this whole ugly dating-the-ex-bully stuff to work through on top of that?

@Georgette888, you're right: it's futile to try to make sense of why Klaine is still endgame. What a mess.  Evil or Very Mad

Also:
How can Blaine accuse Rachel and Kurt of stealing Warbler talent, when Jane is the one who pressures Rachel to let her join ND? blinkk

In other Glee news: MC Hammer started following practically the entire Glee cast yesterday (and lol, Darren and his fans were bragging about it, thinking it was only Darren he followed).
It could mean nothing, maybe MC Hammer just bought the Glee dvds and has been bingewatching the show the past few days (though why would he?), but it could also mean he'll somehow will be involved with the show in the near future.

I don't like Kurt pining and I don't like Kurt crying (although I do love good acting from Chris fanny2 ). The story makes no sense and only serves to have Blaine look like a bigger jerk than he already is. I do suspect there is more to the Blaineofsky story, but don't really care. Even if he is lying to Kurt to get back at him, that is just as bad, if not worse, than actually dating him. Kurt never lied to Blaine about getting back together the first time. He was honest and came to Blaine when he was ready. Klaine is a terrible representation of what any relationship should be.

That said, even when Klaine inevitably get married, I can revel in the fact that everyone knows they will be divorced 6 months later because they can't live together. moque

The one silver lining is all the so called 'intellectual' Klainers who rationalize and analyze every ridiculous turn the writers put them through have just raised up their hands in surrender and admitted, in essence, " I give up, I just ship them no matter what they do."
Which boils down to they don't give a rats ass about anything but their entitled demand for a happy ending. Rolling Eyes

Apparently Blaine decides to go Scandals on Bear night to hookup with someone "burly" and runs into Karofsky. It's hilarious when you think about it, the show is so making a mockery of Klaine soulmate endgame by making Blaine as shallow as ever wanting to fuck chubby hairy older guys ( who tend to be bears) , which, nothing wrong with that if that's your type. You can't make this up if you tried. What a winner, he goes for porn when his boyfriends around and goes with Karofsky "amazing body" when he's not.

Every one not a Klainers expect bitter divorce six months top once the show hoist their obligatory gay wedding.

So 3 times Blaine has moved on from Kurt to another guy , while Kurt cries in the bathroom over this pathetic loser who has moved on to fucking Karofsky over a pool table for a beer.

I'm actually intrigued a bit by the Kurt/Spencer encounter and I hope Kurt gets the point across that no person is an island but we'll see.

The wonderful thing is when this mess finally airs Chris will already be off filming Noel in Merry ole England . Smile

My biggest problem with Blaine, outside of him being portrayed as utterly macho and dreamboat material (yeah, right) is that they have never, ever shown him to be an adult. He isn't even young adult. His emotional development has always been at the age of a mid-teen. This person does not qualify to get married to my mind. You need to be an emotional adult to even try to make the difficult task of marriage work. If even that little thing escapes the writers, how do we expect them to even think that the inequities in the relationship would be a problem.

Kurt is a mature, confident character and I suspect after his crying in the bathroom is it, he's going to pick himself up (as always) and go on forward.  I'm sure he'll whip up ND into a fighting force.

Eh, once again, only 13 episodes of all this mess and it's over.  2 episodes nearly finished filming just 11 more to go....!  It will go bye in a heartbeat.

Crying in Scandals bathroom is really a low point in his life...again. Huh, it's fun being Kurt Hummel in Lima, or where ever as matter a fact when Brad and Ryan get to decide.

Glee season 6 discussion and spoiler thread--Part 1 - Page 36 Empty Re: Glee season 6 discussion and spoiler thread--Part 1

Post  Ranwing 9/21/2014, 3:38 pm

Some random thoughts...

Blaine and Rachel becoming closer before Kurt comes to Lima makes a perverse amount of sense given that they are he most self-centered individuals who both would have some feelings of resentment that they are in this situation. Rachel is the girl that everyone said would be a huge star. Blaine is the guy who never had to fight for anything and received all the acclaim that a performer could wish for. And both of them fucked up and are back in their small town while Kurt (who both of the profess to love) is the one in New York living his dream. He's not there to play cheerleader for them and pick them up when they fall on their asses so they form a little mutual admiration society that Kurt is not a member of. He can only exist in their world so long as he's willing to satisfy their emotional needs.

I don't blame Dave for dating Blaine (in whatever capacity they might be involved) because he recognizes that he never had a realistic shot with Kurt. Too much ugly baggage and Kurt was in NY. What is less tolerable is Blaine dating Dave. First, he's coming out of a turbulent relationship that he was planning on being his forever so rushing into a new relationship isn't exactly healthy. Then there is the question if he and Kurt were actually broken up, or Kurt just put their engagement on hold. If they were still a couple when Blaine returned to Ohio and took up with Dave, then this was at least partly payback to Kurt for 1) ending their engagement and 2) staying in NY when Blaine lost his reason to be there (NYADA). I don't think that this paints Blaine in a good light and while his stans may defend him with the argument that he was so put upon by mean old Kurt, it didn't work after the cheating fiasco and it won't work here. Even if there was a serious miscommunication of intentions (with Blaine thinking that they were broken up and Kurt thinking that they were still a couple), there is no justification for totally blindsiding Kurt the way he was. I would wish that at least Rachel would give Kurt a heads up, but since she and Blaine are now apparently besties, I can understand her shutting Kurt out until he arrived in Lima.

It's typical with these two that when things aren't going their way and when Kurt finally has something good happening for him that they will try to make him feel guilty. Kurt would be justified in being hurt by Blaine taking up with another an (especially someone that Kurt had a lot of history with). This feels very much like Blaine's justification after his cheating - that he thought he was losing Kurt. If he thinks that he and Kurt broke up completely, then he has a right to move on to a new relationship (even if he looks like a fickle asshole in that he's able to put aside the feelings for the "love of his life" - it just proves to me that he's not capable of real emotional investment), but for no one to inform Kurt of this - especially his supposedly best friend - just comes across as cruel.

From the spoilers and call sheet it may be Blaine blindsides Kurt.
However I doubt that the early  Rachel/Blaine scenes have them talking about Karofsky, my take  is that  it seems that both the audience and Kurt find out about Karofsky when he walks up to Kurt/Blaine at Scandals late in the episode.  For shock value.

How some people's  intense dislike of Rachel's character somehow  morphs into she know about
Blaine/Karofsky pairing and doesn't tell Kurt deliberately ahead of time is beyond me. Shocked

^ what shock value? they've spoiled everything already!

if they really want to shock people, they should do what Apple did - keep everything in secret until the it's aired. but of course, by then, nobody will remember to watch. well, as they are doing now, nobody will have any appetite watching anyway.

Glee season 6 discussion and spoiler thread--Part 1 - Page 36 Empty Re: Glee season 6 discussion and spoiler thread--Part 1

Post  Buenos 9/21/2014, 5:45 pm

From my own tumblr  site:

The one thing that the Blaine/Karofky pairing has confirmed is that all the so called intellectual rationale some fans do is simply justifying what ever concoction the writers pull out of their ass.  Square hole and Round  peg?  No problem, chisel the peg into a four sided object and shove it in.  End of story.

I freely admit I follow Glee.  I watch the episodes and try to enjoy my favorite characters, especially Kurt.  I’m not ashamed that I watch the show, it is my weakness and thus my personal  preference.  What I don’t do is pretend to justify the bad writing, character inconsistencies and narrative snafus that has become the show’s signature.  I accept that it’s how this show is written, but I don’t act as if something broken is new and shiny,  My mind doesn’t work that way, because it means letting of all critical standards and common sense.

So while I can eat a deep fried corn dog, I don’t pretend it’s natural, organic or even good for me.
It’s so obvious that this pairing was done for shock value, plain and simple.  Narratively  and character wise it makes absolutely no sense for the Blaine character do this if it is going to be a traditional dating relationship.

The usual group of posters/bloggers who “analyze” everything these writers do are now saying it “fits” the story of Klaine.
Using common sense, it boils down to this:
Would any rationale character (even in fiction) who loved someone deeply and intensely, once that relationship was over, decide to date the one person who bullied and threatened to kill their ex love?  Would that person with the knowledge that said ex bully stole their love’s first kiss, and was a victim of his bullying, now view them as a viable love interest? Would they be able to forget (not forgive, more on that latter) this past history and get their own “first kiss” with this new love interest?

If the answer is NO, than all the other rationale goes out the window.

The psuedo intellectual hide behind “Kurt forgave Karofsky” as a smokescreen (and mantra) when we all know it’s not an issue of forgiveness.

There are people who forgive others who do great harm to their loved ones.  But forgiving someone who does that doesn’t mean you date them, does it?

Only on Glee it does.

I suppose I don’t mind so much the justification as much as I do the intellectually cowardly way of dodging the core issue. Their rationale wouldn’t get past a court of law or even a class room dissertation on a work of fiction.  Because the core issue, which is that Blaine could actually get past the traumatic way Karofsky bullied and assaulted Kurt, it would mean Blaine truly and definitely is over Kurt.  And if he’s not over Kurt, than dating Karofsky is both a callous and sick thing to do.  It borders on unbalanced on a very awkward level.  Again, if we are actually doing character analysis and not chiseling the round peg into a square peg.

Of course the characters such as Kurt or Blaine are bent to the whims of the writers, but for analytical discipline that doesn’t excuse the viewer from exercising their own personal BS detector when things don’t add up.

That's a very good question. I think one way to prove if GA still watch Glee is asking random people when was the last time they watched it? I know some of friends did when was Finn's tribute.

I would be very very  surprised if hard core fans/stans social media types for Glee at this point number more than tens of thousands TBH.  The size of social media fans of show is IMO overstated by the intensity of their fandom, not by their numbers.  Nearly 2 million watched the season finale, most of them I would classify as GA.

- The couples Kurt/Blaine/Kurofsky, Quinn/Puck, Brittany/Santana, aren’t the focus of this episode. It’s all about recruiting new members for the Glee club. None of the couples have one on one scenes.
- Brittany gives Kurt relationship advice, but it’s played for laughs (aka super-jokey Brittany speak.)
- For Blaine, dating Karofsky is about shaking his life up post-break up with Kurt.
- There’s a pep rally everyone attends, including Karofsky and Blaine. This happens after Blaine’s tiff with Rachel and Kurt.

Oh joy. Rolling Eyes

It will be all about the show making a joke of Kurt's pain (again), and him pining everytime he's forced to be in Blaine's vicinity (like every monday night dinner), won't it?
Let's crack open some bottles. pijano

Wow... they know that people are going to respond badly to the idea of Blaine dating someone else (nearly as badly as they did when Kurt tried to date Adam). And to have it be Karofsky must have the writers nervous about Blaine looking like a complete asshole so they're hedging things by making Blaine so torn up over the break up that he's using Karofsky as a distraction. Which for me, doesn't negate the asshole factor because 1) he picked someone that Kurt has an enormous history with, 2) he picked someone that wanted Kurt first, and 3) he picked someone that when we last saw him was extremely emotionally vulnerable and unstable. Using Dave as a distraction when he's not mentally ready to actually be in a new relationship is disrespectful to both Kurt and Dave. They're just using it as a way to show how sad Blaine is, that he's upset enough to not only flunk out of college, but needs someone else to make him feel better.

The one thing that I can see happening that might help this mess in some tiny, tiny way is for Dave to also be using Blaine. I can easily see him still carrying a torch for Kurt (since he's the great unobtainable attraction for Dave) and if Dave is using dating Blaine to get Kurt out of his system as well, then at least it will be two guys using one another and not Blaine taking advantage of someone emotionally fragile.

As for Kurt not singing... yeah, I'm frustrated. Whether or not Kurt's POV is given significant focus, he's still not going to get to sing. But at least unlike some members of this cast (*coughDarrencough*), Chris doesn't need to use a vocal performance as a crutch to get the audience to see what's going on with Kurt. He doesn't have to sing sad songs about a bad break up to make the audience see what he's feeling. As much as I want to hear Kurt get lots of solos this season, I know that he's not so rather than focus on being so disappointed about that, I'm looking forward to Chris showing off his acting chops again. Unlike Darren, who can sing all the sad songs he wants and fail to get any tangible emotion that doesn't involve facial contortions more often than not, Chris can show all those conflicted, nuanced emotions. That he can recognize that he ended their engagement for damned good reasons, but still feel torn and confused about being drawn back to Blaine.

And yes, Marshall Williams is adorable - looking forward to him and Kurt having lots of scenes together.
