What is great is that they are tracking the SERIES sales, which means all three books are selling well and so are ranked in tandem in the best seller lists. I'm sure "Grim Warning" by itself would rank high as an individual book, but it's more about the success of the books as a group now.

Yes, and that is why he is 'taking meetings' about films. Why wouldn't that be attractive to movie makers?
I just hope he finds someone he is happy with because not only would films be great (if they are well done) but that would make him a bomb and give him even more security to branch out and do what he wants career-wise.

Re: Chris Colfer Appreciation Thread!--part 9
The way he worded it in one interview (Access Hollywood? I don't really remember and don't have the internet capacity to check right now), that his fans need to be patient with him/about a TLoS movie because he's "only got one shot to do it and he wants to do it right" (or something similar) tells me that Chris will keep those movies close to himself, and at least supervise them or have a big say in how they're gonna put TLoS to film.
That is to me a reassurance that a possible TLoS movie (or several movies) will only further Chris' career.

Re: Chris Colfer Appreciation Thread!--part 9
I'm most curious about the implied projects where Chris has an overview of other writers. What does this involve:
Some of my off the cuff guesses:
1) A TV pilot/season was green lighted (whether the shelved Disney "Left Over Witch" or something else) and a slate of episodes ordered to production, which Chris is overseeing as opposed to writing every episode.
2) There is something Chris is involved with that will be more interactive with more content for fans, possibly an expanded Land Of Stories website. Or maybe video game or board games, etc.
3) Asylum is being adapted to the big screen and other writers brought in to work on the screenplay (though I find this one a bit unlikely)
4) Chris is going to start a production company with TV/movie projects he will oversee but not involve his writing directly.
Also he has said he has been stalking Disney for rights to use some of their characters, which is a whole different can of worms.

Disney never "loans out" their characters for outside projects. ( The only exception was the " Who killed Roger Rabbit" movie which was a big collaboration). My best guess is he's working already on a Disney produced project and wants to borrow some established characters.

"Glee" Actor Donates Autographed Books to Hazelwood School District During Recent Tour Stop
Book lovers in the Hazelwood School District have a new reason to be full of glee when they go to the school library.
Actor Chris Colfer, famous for his role on the popular TV show “Glee,” has donated several autographed copies of his best-selling trilogy, “The Land of Stories,” to the Hazelwood School District. The 24-year-old actor and author stopped at the St. Louis County Library headquarters in July as part of a national book tour to promote “A Grimm Warning,” his third installment of the trilogy. The previous two books of the series are “The Wishing Spell” and “The Enchantress Returns.”
When learning about Colfer’s stop in St. Louis, East High School choir director Robert Swingler reached out to the actor’s agent and publicist to request the donation for the District. The 39 donated books will be distributed to schools throughout Hazelwood School District as part of its literacy initiatives.
When asked about donating the books, Colfer said, “I am honored to support literacy in public schools and happy that these books are going to the Hazelwood School District.”
Chris Colfer is a #1 New York Times bestselling author and Golden Globe-winning actor. He was honored as a member of the TIME 100, Time magazine’s annual list of the one hundred most influential people in the world.
Above is one of the copies of Colfer’s book that he donated to the Hazelwood School District. Below, Colfer autographs a school chair, similar to the ones used on the set of the TV show “Glee.”

"It was challenging, because Chris Colfer and I are very different human beings. It also made me realize how great of an actor Chris Colfer is and how different he really is from Kurt as well. A lot of respect for that guy."
— Cory Monteith [on playing Kurt Hummel in “Props”]
Saw this on tumble and had to share, I'm sure I read somewhere that Cory said Chris was the most likely to win an oscar someday, but I'm not sure if I'm making that up lol, if someone remembers that comment or has a link would love to see it!

Considering that I always thought as an actor Cory Monteith was highly underrated on Glee, (his Finn really was infused with the spirit of an awkward 17 year old boy), that is high praise indeed.

This was hardback sales of the first book's first year sales per one source, can't help but think it's increased even more for the 2nd and 3rd books in the series. No wonder the sales are now classified under children's SERIES.

Chris was at Disneyland with Will and his family.
Fans have been taking pics and tweeting about it.
Chris had a security guard with them who got angry with one of them, as I am not sure but they might have been too close, and he caught them taking a pic.
Will is wearing a tank top with banana's all all over it, and Chris is wearing really tight shorts.
There is a pic with Chris holding Hannah's hand.

Two recent articles that include Chris:
Warning: the comments under this article are full of tinhatting crisscolfers (and people calling them what they are: delusional and disrespectful).
MTVMisfits Who Made It
MTV’s new show, Faking It is all about the idea of people doing things differently, we find 9 inspirational celebs that have gone the unconventional route.
Chris Colfer
Named in 2011 as one of TIME Magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world, Chris Colfer has inspired many young people with his portrayal of a flamboyantly gay teen on the hugely successful TV series, Glee. Chris has also gone on to star in, produce, and novelize his first film, entitled Struck by Lightning; where he plays an outcast high schooler who blackmails his classmates into contributing to his literary magazine in hopes of getting into Northwestern University. He is also a New York Times number one best-selling author of The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell, the first of his two book deal with Little Brown.
Chris speaks out against the bullying epidemic, which is something he experienced quite heavily in school. In an Entertainment Weekly PopWatch article, Chris revealed that he was homeschooled for most of middle school because the bullying was so bad; in high school, he admitted, he wasn’t honest with himself because of the constant bullying. While this was a struggle for him he’s made these struggles a part of his artistic exploration and has ultimately risen above it all.

On television, the closet is on its way out
It's the best time to be 'out' and about on television. Reel or real, the closet is close to being smashed to smithereens. It is therefore a matter of pride (pun intended) that the gay community now sees itself well represented on international television.
Openly gay characters as well as actors populate the telly-scape, no more being relegated to a subplot/sidekick status because of their sexual identity. But perhaps, because of that (and a keen-eyed watch group, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation or GLAAD, for short), there's an air of openness that didn't exist, as late as say, five years ago. In fact, the numbers show that there has been a steady increase in inclusiveness. In fact, the community sees better representation in primetime programming in the US this year.
In fact, GLAAD president Herndon Graddick noted that "Americans expect to see their off-screen worlds represented onscreen and today more than ever that includes LGBT people and families. Storylines of families like Mitchell and Cameron on Modern Family and young people like Emily on Pretty Little Liars are not only growing acceptance of our community, but have found praise from viewers and critics alike at a time when visibility and acceptance of LGBT people is at an all-time high."
The LGBT community hasn't received as much love on Indian television and one supposes that will take several more years. But until then, here's looking at some proud actors and shows ...
NEVER IN, ALWAYS OUT
(---)
Chris Colfer (Came out in December 2009)
Famously played: Kurt Hummel (Glee)
Partner: Post production coordinator Will Sherrod
The Story Goes: He came out on the Chelsea Lately Show in December 2009. Host Chelsea Handler told the young Glee actor, "Your character on the show's gay. We know that you're gay. That's good for you. Congratulations. Don't be shy about that. Seriously..." When The Advocate magazine asked him if he was out at his former hight school, he tersely replied, "Oh, no. People are killed in my hometown for that." It was only after being cast as the gay Kurt in the show did he come out. Colfer told the mag, "It's extremely important for gay youth out there to see that it's actually OK and that they are being represented in these shows." By the way, Colfer and boyfriend Will have been dating for a few months now and are often spotted together publicly.

Re: Chris Colfer Appreciation Thread!--part 9
I was reading the comments under that article last night. It is amazing what those tinhatters say. It's so funny that they can say that Will isn't Chris' boyfriend because Chris hasn't come out and said, "This is my boyfriend Will Sherrod" but even though Chris has said that he and Darren are not in a relationship, and they still try to say that they are in an relationship and that they just aren't allowing Darren to be out. Delusional doesn't even describe the tinhatters anymore. They need to seek professional help.
I know that Chris likes to keep his private life private, but part of me wishes that the paparazzi would catch them in a steamy make session or something (though that probably won't help anyways, as the tinhatters will just say it was PR again).

I don't know what I'm implying, but every time I hear someone call Will Chris' assistant or bodyguard, I hear Chris singing "I Will Always Love You" in my head.
