Re: Chris Colfer Appreciation Thread!--part 7

I am so tired of self-entitled "fans" who feel that they have a right to intrude on another person's privacy. Chris was out with a friend and trying to avoid any undue attention and he asked that his privacy be respected. That this young lady not only didn't, but then went on line to complain that he didn't acquiesce to her demands really shows a huge lack of respect.

When will these twits finally get it through their heads that just because Chris (or some other celebrity) pokes their head outside their front door doesn't automatically grant them the right to intrude on them. Especially when he specifically asked to be left alone.

Great post. I agree 100%.

I confess I'm someone who like candids pictures (I think that how are called), but I don't like when those pics come from fans. Please don't get me wrong, is not like I prefer paparazzi pics, but I understand is their "job", an intrusive job I've to add. But when it comes to fans, I'd expect some more respect, because if they really appreciate him, they should understand he also needs some private time for him and his friends/family/bf. I don't get why some fans believe celebrities are in mode on celebrities all day.

I totally understand the disappointment. In case I’d ever meet Chris and he would reject a picture/autograph because he doesn’t want to start a crowd, I’d also be miserable for 5 minutes. But it still gives you no right to take pictures and upload them. It also gives you no right to complain that he rejected you. Because once the 5 minutes of pity would be over, I could look at it realistically. Chris has the right to say “no” when he is out on private functions or even just because he is not in the mood. We have to accept and respect that. There is nothing wrong with it. We know Chris is generous, takes pictures with fans, talks to them and is genuinely a nice person who respects us. So in return all we can give is respect and treat him like a human being, not a walking billboard.

On the other hand from the few tweets I saw from that girl she didn't seem to be angry, she was still very happy she got to see Chris in person, she didn't complain she just stated he declined because he didn't want to start a crowd (unless she didn't change her mind and did not start complaining afterwards, I read her twitter immedidately after her pictures came out) and that is refreshing. I have seen quite of lot of people like that girl on the Beyonce concert bitching how snobby, diva, two faced person and I don't what else Chris is just because they didn't get autograph which is totally overaction unless he didn't decline very rudely which I doubt except for maybe when they acted rudely towards him. I definitely understand some kind of disappointment because how often do one person get the chance to meet Chris? but based on some of people's reaction you would think Chris  killed their puppies or something.

The 50 Greatest Gay TV Characters

1. Kurt Hummel, Glee

Actor: Chris Colfer
2009-present
Previous Rank: 7
Speaking of the K portion of Klaine (Doesn’t he deserve more than one letter in that mash-up name? Injustice), your winner and undisputed world champion of gay TV characters is none other than Kurt Hummel, the plucky young sprite who stylishly paraded his way into legend and our hearts when he entered that glee rehearsal room over four years ago. What can we say? There is no character quite like Kurt.
The notion of young gay characters on television is still in its fetal stages, though the Gleeuniverse has injected a growth hormone into that process, which is why Kurt has been such a remarkable presence on the television scene. He is fully realized in a way that young gay characters just haven’t been before. He is not simply a statement or storyline or supporting character used to build up the diversity of the gang. He is a person, as outspoken and self-assured as he is confused and fragile, realistically stereotypical without being a cartoon.
Through his first few seasons, Kurt endured many of the expected dramatic travails of the gay high school character, including the emotional coming out and an entire season of bullying, but through that he never became the sad, isolated tragedy he might have become. His enduring brightness, coupled with the openness and genuine warmth Chris Colfer brings to the character, has established Kurt as a symbol of triumph over difficult circumstances for many young gay people. He emerged on the other side, still caring, still optimistic, still funny.
And that’s really why he tops this list. We have watched him grow up and make mistakes and endure, which has cultivated a love, ownership, and protectiveness over him. He’s our Kurt.    –SB
Backlot

Kurt/Chris won over Blaine/Darren (#2) on Backlot for once. Progress?

It is just a very dedicated fanbase. In 10 years people will remembered Kurt and Blaine is forgotten. Chris changed a lot for the long-run, Darren changed a lot for some hormonal heterosexual teenagers.

So cute. And Chris looks like the old kid from 2009, and I insist that girls looks like Ashley's sister.

Razz If he wanted to be protected, why didn't go with a male friend instead?
