Well, I've been avoiding rewatching this episode because I can't stomach Klaine anymore, but I'm going to do it now and get it over with. Funny how an episode that made me so happy for Kurt two years ago is one I wish I could change now.

Anyways...

Oh, how nice. Let's start an episode with a random pointless Blaine number. That's something Glee never did before, and hasn't done since, right.

Darren has really aged a lot in two years. He looks a lot younger here even though it was only two yers ago. Chris has grown up too, but it's not as drastic as it as from season 1 to 2.

I love that Kurt called Blaine out on his song whoring. Ugh, Blaine's smug look when Kurt is complementing performances--oh if we knew back then what we know now.

Rachel's original songs were hysterical. My Headband was better, but Only Child was hyserical too. I love the conviction that Rachel put into the song.

Kurt is so adorable whistling with Pavarotti.

I love that Kurt dissed Blaine in the middle of his morning. hehe.

Blackbird is so sweet. As much as I love Chris' Broadway songs, I love the sweet and simpleness of this sing.

The whole Blaine falls for Kurt when he sings Blackbird thing, was silly. If the writers were better and had more forsight, I'd think that this was the start of Blaine liking to see Kurt hurt, emotional, and broken.

The Britania relationship was always so contrived. I liked seeing Santana and Brit get dirtbombed.

Mega Blaine worshipping going on in the Warbler room. "His version of the song is better than the original." "We should just let you pick the songyou want to sing." Blaine said, "I'm tired of everything about he Warblers being about me." Can Darren say the same thing about Glee now?

Wow, I'm bitter about how Blarren is to years later.

Best part of the scene is Kurt saying "Put my name on the audition list." And unlike Blaine, Kurt is willing to give others a real shot at something without getting something in return.

Trouty mouth was awesome. It's just such a crazy song.

Big Ass Heart is probably more offensive than Fat Bottomed Girls.

Only Kurt would bedazzle a casket for a dead bird.

Gosh, I remember how excited I was for Kurt's first kiss. Now I wish it never happened with Blaine. That's all I'll say.

"Hell To The No" was probably the best of the bad songs. The lyrics were bad, but Amber really killed the performance of it. And it was definitely Mercedes.

I love that Brittany said "My Headband" was her favorite song. It was a good Brittany one liner.

In retrospect, it's kind of sad that Quinn saw herself staying in Lima after graduation.

Stage frightened nervous Kurt is so stinking cute. Blaine thinks Kurt is adorable. Like the puppy love Valentine's Day decorations?

I love the way that Chris hit the "With nothing but I'm sorry" line in "Candles."

You know rewatching the Warblers here, I can't believe that it took me so longto be bothered by Darren's derp faces. So, two Blaine solos and a duet. He really did sound better with the beezlebubs as his background.

I really don't like "Get It Right." It really wasn't a good song. It was a rather passive song for Lea's voice, too, in my opinion.

I do like "Loser Like Me" not because it's a good song, but because it was a great song to represent the journey of the New Directions of underdogs. And I love excited Kurt cheering them on Smile

Gosh, I miss this Glee. Watching this group performance, and comparing it to the current New Directions. It's like watching and pros. The original new directions had fun and group chemistry. The new new diections doesn't have that magic spark.

OMG, the comment from the nun judge about pandering is hysterical knowing now how bad the fan pandering has gotten on the show.

In retrospect, I bet Kurt wishes he go the lousy trophy instead of the lousy boyfriend.

Giving out the MVP award is a tradition that didn't last long.

Blaine's solos are breathtaking and numerous, no change on the latter part, and he brings up "the pips" which is where everyone else lives in regards to Blaine's singing.

I loved Kurt's kind of put upon expression but I'm going to be a good sport behavior.

Only child, this is actually when I really liked Finchel, Finn was being honest with her, but not propping her or her propping him. Just honest, something missing in every coupledom on this show. They should all remain single.

Quinn wanting to win prom queen more than anything, but also acknowledging that Rachel's talent is amazing, and is what keeps her being Quinn's competition.

Kurt's dramatic entrance after Pavorotti's death, soooo glad to see him out of that uniform and dressed as Kurt, not some pip. The little skull, the whipped out backup music, man, I miss you Kurt. I also remember hoping that Blaine was finally going to acknowledge how he felt about Kurt, because I wanted Kurt to have a boyfriend. Because I imagined then it would prove that Kurt is gorgeous, that he would have someone complimenting him on how attractive he is, after a year plus of being just the gay boy people threw pee balloons at. Little did I know at that time that it would be all about how lucky Kurt was to win Blaine, and that he would be sitting on stools listening to Blaine sing. Still, at this time there was hope.

Quinn backing Rachel, and Rachel just being like a puppy who was finally being allowed to be in the house after peeing all over the floor. Yeah, Yeah!! Quinn likes me!! The continuation of Rachel's need for anyone to prop up her ego, male or female.

I totally don't remember putting that in there, regarding the dirt in Britt's locker. Yes, this is your true love, Santana.

Blaine not wanting the songs to be about him, well, he doesn't have that consideration anymore does he? Derpity, Derpity Doo.

I am surprised Mr. Schue let Santana verbally abuse Sam in a song, he even looks back to see how Sam is taking it, and he isn't taking it well. Mike is about to burst into laughter. Sam had to stop the song, and then Mr. Schue actually steps up.

Big ass heart, I think people took this too seriously, he's kind of singing how her heart is so big it is why she is so large. Well, whatever, Lauren was into the song, and bopping to it, so nothing like as hurtful as Santana's.

I was so happy to see Kurt get a big first kiss, little did I know how they would make him asexual for about a year after that. Chris acted it so well, the surprise, the breathlessness after the kiss. I remember being so damn happy. Seems like a lifetime ago.

Hell to the no, everyone was into this song. Amber looked really good in that outfit[i]. Schue was right about the song not being Regional's material, but it was a great song.

While I didn't really like the original songs, I did like how they used their current situation to find examples to write about.

Rachel thinking Quinn is her friend, and defending how Finn had chosen her. Then the beautiful, intelligent Quinn thinking all she will ever have is Lima, being a real estate agent, and Quinn is just sending Rachel to a place where she belongs. Rachel still lives in that school girl fantasy.

Jesus is a friend of mine song was hilarious, the choreography was excellent.

People put down Candles, but I really didn't mind it. I liked the way they filmed Kurt going onto stage, you could feel how nervous he was, how alone he felt. Sadly, ND never did feature him in a performance, so this was it. But it was to showcase Blaine and his Pips. I liked that Kurt did a spotlight bow, you did that right, Blaine.

Then it continues, the Rachel overload. Get it right was just a Finchel love song, and a reason to have Rachel do yet another solo. Too bad she and Blaine aren't sexually compatible. The argument who gets the spotlight this week might be interesting. She also has very dramatic faces when she wants to be more emotional like Blaine doses. Wait a minute, in the Quinn scenes she didn't have bangs, she does now. Those guys are short, can you really sweep them to the side?

As competitions go it wasn't as bad as when the boys were basically off the stage for most of the performances, or Rachel's NYADA audition, but it is tiring to hear the same voices all the time. I still miss Kurt being able to sing the lines about being pushed up against lockers and one day he would be their boss, but at least they gave it to Finn. The choreograpy is pretty basic, it was all featuring Rachel's voice.

Rod was hilarious, still crossing my fingers that he is Sue's baby daddy. He is the only person in the Gleeverse whose ego is big enough to match Sue's. This was really when they let Sue get out of control, punching someone on stage and not having any consequences.

They didn't bury Pavorotti that deep. Then turning Kurt's desire to win a competition into how lucky we are to be together. It was sweet at the time, and it is important that young gay people see the sweet support.

Rachel was MVP, yes, the only person really allowed to sing won, how surprising. So glad they didn't continue this MVP crap. Rachel doesn't get the brass ring, yes, but she gets all the songs. I'm trying not to hate on Rachel, and am failing, I don't hate her, but I kind of lump her in with Blaine on the charmed life, while people around her are struggling, and we are supposed to feel compelled by her struggle, when she doesn't struggle.

As much as most of us hate Klaine, you have to admit, that was a hot first kiss (mostly thanks to Chris' acting.)

I admit it. Also I admit how happy I was for Kurt back then. How things have changed.

Me too! I was SO happy for Kurt back then! If only we could all imagine how we'd see Klaine just two years later...

If Klaine was that hot, I wonder what Kadam's first kiss is going to be like?!

2x16 "Original Song" Watch and Discussion Thread Tumblr_lzaicgt9Ha1qmsp93o6_500

Someone posted part of the script of "Original song"on Tumblr. It's interesting how they never cut the scenes where people praise Blaine, but the one time Blaine tells how amazing and talented Kurt is, it's cut from the episode.dryy
It's like people are forbidden to compliment Kurt. The first time someone appreciated his great voice and the way he looks was the Sadie Hawkins episode. We only had to wait 4 years.
