Re: Struck by Lightning: The Carson Phillips Journal
As someone who has already seen the movie, and has only read the first 20 or so pages of the book so far, I have to say that I'm glad that I have seen the movie before reading the book. The book seems to follow along the movie with a bit more detail. Twenty pages in, I have to say that some of the stuff I've read so far is pretty much verbatim from the movie. Maybe I'll feel diffrently when I read more of the book (after I finish the library e-book that I have to finish by Friday), but at this point, I have to say that I'm glad that I've already seen the movie because what I've read from the book follows the movie so closely. To me, I'd rather get the enjoyment of the story through the movie, and Chris' acting than the written word.
I'll post again after I read more of the book if I feel differently.

I feel the same. But in my case it was after listening to the audiobook, but it also made me feel more interested and eager to see how the story written in the book is portrayed in the film. And how Chris acts every emotions that Carson has, and not only him, also the other actors such as Alison Janney and Polly Bergen, for say some.
So exciting

I currently obsessed with this
Re: Struck by Lightning: The Carson Phillips Journal
I really wanted to watch the movie first, but since I cannot be sure when I'll watch it, and bookstores here have the book, I thought it shouldn't really matter if I read the book first. I used the logic that the book was released first as marketing for the movie. I have no self-control
I'm not sure how it'll affect how I view the movie until I get to watch it, but I can say that reading it made me more excited to see the movie.

Just got the book and audiobook from Amazon today.
Once I go through them (which shouldn't take too long, given how much long distance traveling I do, and I love listening to audiobooks in the car), I'll be able to join the rest of you in the discussion thread

The American actor, singer and author, best known for his portrayal of Kurt Hummel on the television series Glee will be signing copies of his books - The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell and Struck by Lightning.

Boy, he is going to be busy.
So, much for the Blarren stans suggesting that Chris will be holidaying and that Darren will be the only one working.
