Ah Single Ladies. The first really really great Kurt moment. Love the attitude. He did such a great job. So much fun to watch (and he got so much better at it two years later on the tour). I love the nervous laugh near the end. Love Kurt/Chris Smile

I can't stand Terry's sister. I'm glad she was only on a few episodes. She's wicked annoying.

Sue's Corner. Was caning ever in fashion in the US? I can think of someone on Glee I would like to cane. Has Sue ever gotten Emma's name right?

Poor selfish Rachel. Always has to be the star.

I love how sweet Finn was to Kurt in this episode, first with the whole prom conversation (i.e. letting him down easy rather than being a bastard about it), and then with working with him to become kicker. Finn was really a decent kid in the beginning.

"Hi. I'm Kurt Hummel and I'll be auditioning for the role of kicker" followed with a bitch face when people laugh. Classic Kurt. He owned the field. I love fierce Kurt who doesn't care what others think. He doesn't walk to the beat of a different drummer. He walks to the beat of the drum he sets for himself. I love that he ended it the scene with the princess wave when he is announced as kicker.

Sue was so nasty in the beginning. So many of her comments are just so offensive and we loved every second of it. Smile

Finn is such a doufus. Thinking that Quinn could get Quinn pregnant in the hot tub. Poor naive Finn.

to be continued Smile

Love this episode, because Kurt was amazing here:

-First time I see Single Ladies and I totally loved it. Then Burt got into the room suddenly and Kurt was so nervous saying he was wearing an outfit that sport guys wear as well, while Burt was very suspicious. Also I remember Burt asked if Brittany or Tina were his grilfriend , so Kurt take Tina by the waist and approached her to him saying sth like "We're just starting" or "Is not that serious".

-The "audition" as the kicker hahaha, everybody was staring at him like "what the hell is doing this boy here?", so I was so glad when he kicked that ball and those boys couldn't believe it that small boy was so strong so who's laughing now dudes? and then Ken Tanaka said to him something "If you kick like that, you could wear a tutu if you want" :p

-Oh My now I understand why some people call Finn as "Finnocence" hahahah

Mr. Ryerson's robe is just hysterical. All of the dolls are creepy. So Mr. Ryerson has a casting couch. I wonder if he got as much action on his casting couch as Mr. Murphy gets.

Figgy's flight attendant video is hysterical. It was such an un-Figgy moment.

Lea's lips look really huge while she was singing "Taking Chances." I do enjoy hearing her sing this song.

Tina sounds very sweet when she sings "Tonight." But Mr. Schue really didn't need to sit there moving his hands the whole time.

Fun glee drinking game. Everytime Brad is in a scene, Drink!

I love how encouraging Will was to Tina in the scene (though the shoulder touching may have been a bit inappropriate. And then he hugs Finn without knowing why inn is so upset.

As I've been rewatching the episodes, I have to say that Matthe Morrison really looks older than he is. He would have been 30 when filming these epiosdes, and he looks older than that now.

Another time when Finn stood up for Kurt--in the locker room. I love the way he said, "Why don't you ask Kurt. He's the only one who seems to be able to score, even in practice." And I love the little smirk on Kurt's face after that line.

Puck is so nasty to Quinn. He deserved to be called a Lima Loser.

Creepy Terry alert. How did she know what car Quinn drove? How did she expect that she'd be able to pull off getting Quinn's baby and passing it off as her own?

Football time. Kurt was so excited when he saw his dad there. So sweet. The high Broadway kicks are hysterically adorable. Could you imagine if a real football team ever really did Single Ladies in the middle of the game?

Mick O'Malley and Chris really did an amazing job on the coming out scene. When Burt said that he was proud of Kurt, you could see it in his face. It's great that Burt knew Kurt was gay, but let Kurt come out on his own terms. I like that they made Burt be honest about it too--when he said that he wasn't in love the idea, but he loves Kurt just as much. It really is great that they made Burt so accepting even though he wasn't completely comfortable with the idea.

Finn giving Quinn the baby blanket was a very touching scene. Once again, it was one of those sweet scenes where they showed how much heart he has. I hate what they did to Finn's character almost as much as I hate what they did to Kurt.

Will used to have balls. It's great that he stood his ground against Rachel because she really was being a selfish diva--no the team player she claimed she was earlier in the episode.

Sandy.

I remember his robe was like a short kimono lol

The coming out scene has been one of my favorite ones for years. Besides I love the father-son relationship of Kurt and Burt. Probably I've said this before but I want a dad like him.

It's hard to think about Kurt's last truly victorious moment was so very long ago. I miss that fierceness, he has given up a lot, I don't mind him growing up, I just wish he was still a little more snarky. Kurt hates lying to his father so much he actually joins the football team. I loved him and Finn in this episode, I could see why Kurt had a crush. He was the only boy who wasn't repelled by his presence. Plus he was safe, deep down Kurt knew nothing would happen, but Kurt's heart was lonely, so allowed him to pretend to a high degree.

I loved the coming out scene, Chris looked like a little boy, a scared little boy, but a brave one at the same time. I can't imagine a way it could be improved.

Kurt's totally Kurt try out costume. I loved the socks, and he does look good in red. The way everyone laughed as he danced to the ball, and then silence, with one of them dropping a football, when he made the kick.

I have always been a little annoyed over how the girls behaved when Kurt wanted to use one of them as his beard. But that is coming from a Kurtsie perspective.

Come to think of it, that was the last time Tina was supported by Mr. Schue as well. Shortly after this episode he seemed to give up on reining in Rachel. Sadly team play was never going to be Rachel's mantra. She'll be in a team, as long as she is team leader and the star. The only time I saw her step side and stay there was the presidential election, and she ended up screwing that up for Kurt. At least to my recollection.

Kurt teaching the football team how to do the singles ladies, hilarity, especially Mike pretending he couldn't dance. Mr. Schue trying to use dancing terms, when Kurt knew you had to speak very plainly to these jocks. Wanting to do a show circle!! Where is that Kurt?

The darker lighting Glee used at the time really accentuated Matt M.'s wrinkles. I could really see differences depending on how they lit his scenes. Not kind at all.

Even with Kurt having focus, you still held your breath for that final kick, because you weren't sure he would make it, and when he did, I was so happy. This season he would have flubbed the kick, don't you know it.

Sandy was creepy, and you really had to suspend disbelief that he could be allowed in the school. I would like to know just how much blackmail material Sue has on everyone to get her way so much.

I know RIB said that Preggers was a change in direction for the show, that they finally had their path. They seem to forget who the pivotal character in that episode was, and it wasn't Rachel guys. Rachel is inherently a larger than life character, so things that she does already are larger than life, just like Sue. We know where Sue went, and they spend a great deal of season 3 trying to bring her character back from the brink of likeability. I don't know why they think the audience sees through Rachel's eyes. Perhaps some people do, people who are over the top, or wish they were. I don't know. Anyway, Rachel seems to exist in another reality, one that is blissfully obvious to things not-Rachel. You never think for one minute she won't get everything she wants in life, there is zero suspense, and in my case, zero interest.

I so would love to have that white hanging chair Kurt has in his room. How come I feel Burt is very, very deliberately talking about dirtbicking and girlfriends? No matter how over the field the scene is, I think this was the first real moment when I realised Chris might actually be a quite good actor: the horror in his eye after Burt asks him to get the tickets to his first game. You really feel for him, OhShit!

Terri and Kendra are awful together. Without a blick she advised Terri to go ahead with her crazy plan of just getting a child from somewhere.

When Will enters the teacher lounge I keep thinking if he is a popular in the teacher pool or not? Why hasn't The Donut Hole been mentioned after this, that's a great name for a donut place, better than Breadsticks is for Breadsticks

Artie stating that Rachel storming out becomes less and less effecting after so many times gives me the impression that he has known her for awhile.

Even though Finn has issues with Kurt you can see that he does want to understand at this episode, I mean why would a jock try to help the dweep otherwise? They made Kurt so little with that one shot with Finn, surely it's just the angle I don't remember the height difference being that great. How far is the kicker usually doing his thing or does it vary?

For some reason I don't like Diannas acting in the pregnancy revelation, maybe because it's SO, SO stupid as an idea and for me she isn't convincing.

Sandy Ryerson and his kimono with crocs? is just terrifying. Ryerson would be a horrible Arts teacher in every way. I know it was a hoax audition but I find it hilarious that Rachel would have to audition for Sally Bowles with a Dion song.

Will is not sincere with his wish to make everyone feel like a star. His stars are only the ones HE feels are already stars or fit his mold, and he got worse as seasons roll by. Scene with Finn in the café is sincere though, reminds me of some other dramatic teenage centered shows. A prime example that Glee has always been a dramedy.

I remembered watching the scene where Kurt talks Puck down in the locker room and then teaches the jocks in choir room that he should stop because those guys are going to kick his ass. My protective nature still kicked in, I kept thinking almost out loud: Kurt shush! Pucks character acts so much more aggressively and mean in these few first episodes, some sort of dark vilanous type with lots of hidden intelligence and agendas.

I don't know anything about american football but doesn't the game clock start running when the whistle goes? Apparently not because they had enough time to dance to Single Ladies, that was surely longer dance number than 2 secs. And Burt not actually believing his son is in the football team even when he sees it with his own eyes. But I did cheer after Kurt field kick, yahoo!

But I also knew what's coming next. Isn't it true when they say that good parents always know more of their children than they dare to say out loud. And this scene is one of many where I want to know more of Kurts mom as well. ”And I love you just as much.” crycry

And to mu horror, some of last Sues C's were quite good as well.
