"Bri's Eyes"......... OMG, it took me a while before I got the pun.
Well, since I made a post anyway, might as well put the other Brian pic here too, it's too beautiful not to:
Aww.

^Haha. No, you're not mentally challenged. Just maybe not as old as me:
'Bri's eyes' = 'Bright Eyes' (as in the Art Garfunkel 'From the Watership Down' song)

Ha, thank you! But isn't Watership Down this nightmarish cartoon show full with death, destruction and horror? I've read so many times how people were sincerely traumatized because they expected Disney-cartoons as children and got the exact opposite. Poor BrianGlorfindel wrote:^Haha. i thought of that song too when i first saw the caption. it's such a beautiful song! i notice that itt became a "standard" for many boy singers. i am sure brian's voice is equally high and bright and beautiful.
p.s. the cat i used to have (who is my forever fav) sang opera every time he wanted to wake us up. he would start from a whispering low to gradually singing higher and louder. For the fuller, louder sound he would go to the big bathroom to sing because the tiled room created lots of echo-like effects. that cat was a god.

Yes, it scarred me for life, brrrr (we were forced to watch it in high school). And I even had to read the book as a school assignment, which was even worse than the movie.Lottie2303 wrote:

But the "Bright Eyes" song I believe is about a little rabbit called "Fiver" who had the most beautiful eyes and was very smart, but sickly. And he could foresee the future.
I loved that wee rabbit, and of course it died. Hence the trauma for life.

Re: Chris Adopts Brian the Cat
We are talking about Richard Adams' Watership Down?
I think it's a raw depiction of nature and the cycle of life. Granted they make kids read it way too young, but as a book it's a wonderful, thoughtful read.
I do understand the shock because they are fluffy and named, but essencially it's small wildlife and their life is rough.
Unless you are a twenty pound housecat

^I agree that 'Watership Down' will be quite a nice read now, but as a 14 year old I was not amused.
And as said: it was a mandatory read for my literature class. Never a good idea to force adolescents to read about cute rabbits dying and fighting brutal battles, maiming them for life if it didn't kill them.
I mean: the Lord of the Rings is less cruel. (at least it has no bunnies)

Re: Chris Adopts Brian the Cat
i'd rather read cute rabbit dying than marrying prince charming sort of fairy tale.
i hate the way disney adapted the little mermaid and hunchback. the originals had such an impact on me precisely because of the death that were involved. by giving them happy endings, disney ruined these movies for me. we shouldn't over protect our children by keeping death and tragedy away from them. they need to learn to deal w/ these issues and learn to cope so they will grow up to be stronger and better prepared for a harsh world.
sorry about my rant. this is strictly OT.
